'Down in diamonds' is great... very cool melodic rocker, but the rest? Well, let's just say they really miss Jani. This is decent hard rock, but nothing any band on the block couldn't have done. Jani's songwriting is something beautiful and unique... not found by the dozen. And that's what this CD misses. Musically pretty good, but they're never pushed by the songs on display and I think this is cool hard rock; 'Bourbon county line' is good too, but overall too average and not Warrant-enough.

I really wanted to like this, but how do u replace that prodigious talent that is Jani Lane? Well, clearly you can't. This is pleasant enough, but it's all so ordinary and safe in comparison to the last few Warrant masterpieces. If you like Black 'n Blue it'll do for you. But that real edge that made Warrant so very special has all but vanished for now. I enjoyed all B'n B's albums but Warrant they were not. And Warrant with St.James sound merely proficient. With Jani they were immense!

you say warrant they are not? thank god, because warrant had one decent album in dog eat dog and that was it! black and blue had 4 very good albums. you say they lost the edge they had ,what edge? jani lane dosent have close to the voice of jamie st james! and as far as songs writing goes he wrote a couple of cheezy ballads,big deal. the only reason i bought this disc is because st james is singing on it. if you have heard jani lane sing lately you would know why he is not in the band! 7/10

black n blue and warrant both rule! Sure we miss Jani but Jamie St.James is an awesome vocalist and a dedicated rocker. You know ur not gunna get any modern rock shit with this! Jani was such a songwriting talent, but this is great helps keep the scene alive.

Okay, I'll preface my comments by saying I really like this album, but I still think they should issue a Warrant for Jani Lane's arrest and force him to write & record a new CD with the band. Without Lane fronting them, these guys just don't sound like Warrant, and if they're 'born again,' then they sound like they've been born again as a reincarnation of Black 'N Blue. Again, allow me to repeat, I think this is a pretty darn good late 80s-style hard rock release, but Warrant it ain't.

I was never a huge fan of Warrant, nor have I ever heard Black n Blue, but this is excellent. Features the odd throwaway track such as Dirty Jack and Angels, but on the whole a good-time rock n roll album. Nice to hear this band have stayed true to that great 80s sound as opposed to doing what most bands do and go nu-breed on us! Reccomended, but like some people didnt like the new Legs Diamond album because it didnt feature Sanford, some may not be able to see past Warrant without Jani Lane.

saw this yesterday in a shop, picked it up, not thinking much, on first 5 listens, some really good catchy songs, not crazy over some of Warrant releases, just ok in my book, this one has some really great songs, Love, Glimmer, RCoaster, the great Roxy and Diamonds!!! worth it to check out!!!

I didn't know what to expect when I picked this one up. I am a big Warrant fan but always felt Black & Blue was missing that something that seperates the good from the great. Once I got past St. James bland voice I really like this C.D. I dosn't have any classics like 'Down Boys', 'Heaven' or 'Cherry Pie', but as a whole I think Born Again is probably their most consistant album.

I'm gonna have to go back and rate this one later after I've had more time to listen to it. On the first few spins, I couldn't help linking the songs, but the vocals are just so lacking. I've never been a big fan of St. James, and even though Lane's voice is shot, I still think his presence behind the microphone would've improved everything tremendously.

I always liked Black N Blue better than Warrant so the Jaime St. James transplant works just fine for me. I wouldn't say this is on par with Warrant's earlier classics but for a straight-up hard rock disc it's not bad at all. I wonder if Jani Lane has heard the disc, and if so, what does he think??

I've just listened to the album and for me is an average released.My cd has only 10 songs (is an MTM/SPV released)so the last 2 songs after 'Velvet Noose' are in the same direction?.The problem highligts mainly when you have a new vocalist.Jamie's is ok but Jani's the voice.The only similarity is almost in the name of both singers.It's like Skid Row without Seb.Have you heard their last effort?.Far distant from Seb's time!.

This is real good. Nice production, great playing, a lot of catchy songs. Sounds like Warrant with a different singer, and therein lies the rub. Take the stance that it's not Warrant without Jani and you're not gonna like it, but I truly believe if you open your mind and give it a listen it's gonna be hard not to like this. Jaime's a fine (and extrememly consistent) vocalist and his performance here is no exception. Okay, it's not Cherry Pie, but that kinda chemistry only happens once IMHO.

Lets just say that I am a Jamie St. James fan. But I am also a Warrant fan. To blend them, I thought could go either way. I was suprised to hear that the marriage was positive. Jamie can pull off all the songs live and did very well on this album. What I do miss is Jani's lyrics. He was a lyrical monster. He wrote a great song. Jamie fills in admirably but he is not Jani. Enough said about that. I will take this album for what it is worth. A grea slab of rock and roll. Nice work boys.

im a fan of both b n b and warrant but this cd sounds more like b n b than warrant, the production isnt that good and the big znthems and choruses just arent there. sorry and this comin from a huge warrant fan.not a bad cd just not that good

I like warrant but have never been a huge fan. I saw them live a couple of times before Jani left and was disapponted in his performance but when I heard Jamie St. James was their new vocalist I had to hear what this sounded like(Black N Blue's frist album is an all time fave). I was not disappointed. I think this is a great 80's sounding album. Bourban County Line, Love Strikes Like Lighting and Hell, Ca are standouts for me. IMHO.

Not as good as the first three of course and Jaime is no Jani Lane that's for sure but don't be put off by this. I found it second hand less than a year after it was released and was very impressed. The first 8 songs are high standard but the lyrics are strange at times. The last four songs I found a bit tired and lacking. Joey plays ALL lead guitar on this one while Erik does rhythm. The album sounds a lot like Black 'N Blue which is not surprising but still maintains a Warrant sound. Check out the DVD that accompanies this it's well worth the purchase.

very good release by the mighty WARRANT with ex BLACK N BLUE frontman now on board.this is classic US commercial hard rock music as we like it and it seems that the down boyz are back on track.highlights are "devil juice","roxy","bourbon county line" and "down in diamonds".excellent release

I know just me, but I have never liked Jamie St. James' vocals. I was very glad when they picked up Robert Mason.

I just remember their former drummer Mike Fasano's line in a Metal Sludge interview: "In Blck n' Blue, he was the Saint. In Warrant, he's the Ain't. With Jani Lane, they were Warrant. With the Ain't, they just aren't."
