John Waite has stepped up to the plate and whcked out a cracker of an album. For those wishing for the slick AOR stylings of No Brakes or Rovers Return better put your coats back on and looks somewhere else. This is a rougher and dare I say it rockier release. Not that it's Motorhead by any stretch, in fact the AOR stylings of old are really still there if you listen close enough, especially in songs such as Skyward, Shadows of Love .... it's just done a little rawer a bit more atitude. Other songs are a little darker like Evil, which is a great great song - I can't think of a truly bad song although I'm not too sure about Sweet Rhode Island Red which I'm sure goes down great live, and the new version of Mr. Wonderful I can't decide on yet...but I'm so used to hearing the original that it just seems funny done differently. Good to hear the old bean still has a top notch voice, but then we knew that huh?
