Just bought this cd, and its a killer. Really good. Great production and a lot of very energetic tracks. I`m smiling as I got it for 1,-USD.....NEW.

From: tomcat Date: April 30, 2002 at 11:01
congrats Kim...it's a fine cd indeed...my favorite song is 'sweet melody', always makes me feel great.. tomcat@dolfijn.nl

From: David Date: August 9, 2002 at 5:29
Paul Lanica has another band called Lazy Jane and they rock as hard as Lanica..

From: TIM Date: September 6, 2002 at 22:14
Have you heard Pair-A-Dice David? That was another I believe the lead singer and possibly others were with.

From: David Date: September 7, 2002 at 20:31
No TIM, i've never heard of Pair-A-Dice, what are they like?

From: purrfect-kat Date: September 7, 2002 at 22:12
"Sweeeeeeeet Melody" is so cool and exactly the style of music I love!!! . . . . . If anyone knows tunes that are catchy like Sweet Melody then let it be known cuz I want em all.

From: TIM Date: September 14, 2002 at 2:31
I haven't heard them either David, I'm trying to get them.

From: METAL 4 EVER Date: November 2, 2002 at 23:54
Rumor has it, that the Pair-A-Dice CD was never pressed as a Pair-A-Dice CD (not even on the small Japanese Monster Label), but that the tunes they played on the sunset strip, are the songs that you find on the Lancia s/t CD. Listen to the song Sweet Melody, when Paul says "You remember those tunes we used to sing" (I guess, he is referring to the sunset days). But don't take my word, I'm just passing on second or even third hand information. Take care... Metal 4 Life

From: HairMetalManiac Date: November 16, 2002 at 14:03
WOW...This is a KILLER rocking CD. This skyrockets into my top 5...totally awesome all the way through...tracks 1-3 totally kick your ass, 4 is a pretty good ballad, 5 is a melodic rocker and in the right time period would have been a big radio hit..."Jimmy" totally smacks of Dr. Feelgood...very highly recommended and worth the money you'll have to spend for it (unless you're totally lucky like Kim)...If you don't have it, GET IT...Rock on!!!

From: TheRipper Date: November 16, 2002 at 19:40
Okay, this release is just awesome, period. This is as good as it gets, seriouisly. I have one small growl aboutthis CD though, everybody seems to say 'Sweet Melody' is the best song, which I strongly disagree! I think it's okay, BUT just Listen to 'Pain Sweet Symphony' or 'Goodbye' twice and this release will have new life in your collection, TAKE IT FROM ME. Also, get it if you don't have it, needless to say it's a 10, more like a 22, but i'll stick with the scale!!!

From: HairMetalManiac Date: November 17, 2002 at 18:00
Hey Ripper, I couldn't agree with you more...Track 2 is my Favorite song off of this one as well. I loved it the first play through...the guitars and drums rock you hard with kick ass lyrics...a real tight tune...I think people say that "Sweet Melody" is the best tune because it is probaly the most radio friendly song on the album...also, it is very melodic and therefore holds appeal over a wider range of rock listeners...well, that's my opinion anyway...Rock On!

From: nitrodoll Date: November 17, 2002 at 18:20
great release, still listen to it...a perfect example of wrong place, wrong time... theze guys had to be huge because they're talented. Isn't the singer nowadays in Lazy Jane?

From: ROB GARCIA Date: January 19, 2003 at 11:42
poor imitation of van halen thats the best way i can describe this bunch.

From: Craig Date: April 12, 2003 at 1:22

From: Jayglam@hotmail Date: May 5, 2003 at 5:13
Tim, I have paradise demos on CD if you want a copy. Lancia rule, Paul Lancia is a perfect frontman, I agree sweet melody is a fantastic song which has you singing along first listen, the ballad still in love with you is awesome as well, one of the many great bands from the sunset strip. Jay from Australia.

From: TIM Date: May 5, 2003 at 6:04
Yeah, I'd love a copy Jay. Anything you need copies of?

From: Great Dane Date: May 5, 2003 at 19:26
Damn Tim....You should have told me.....

From: Fox Date: May 10, 2003 at 16:40
Hey guys, nothing against LANCIA (I love this album)but if you want to hear to something you have never heard before, then get L I O N 1988. That is gonna kill you.....

From: TheRipper Date: May 10, 2003 at 18:35
Hey Fox, what do you mean get L I O N? like the band Lion? It can't be "Dangerous Attraction" (1987) or "Trouble In Angel City" (1989)? There's also an earlier 80's release called Lion (different band, a S/T), but none of those could be what you speak of, L I O N 1988? Does this L I O N sound like Lancia, just wondering why you brought it up, not to mention trying to figure ou who you're talking about?

From: Great Dane Date: February 1, 2004 at 21:09
F2@k this is a good cd. The riffs, hooks, and the singing is great. Get it if U can. :-)

From: Geoff Date: January 11, 2005 at 2:19
"Sweet melody! Makes me wanna sing...!" Sorry, guys thought I was a little school girl... uh, I mean boy again. 'Sweet melody' is an extremely catchy and awesome song - perfect commercial hard rock. 'Pain sweet symphony' is killer hard rock, 'Still in love' is a beautiful heartfelt ballad, 'Goodbye' and 'The promise' are great too. A couple of fillers on the disc, but overall a killer slab of commercial hard rock. Highly recommended.

From: z4roxx Date: January 11, 2005 at 20:45
One of my favourite cd as ever!yes,"sweet melody"is an awesome track, but the rest is great, too!Great musicians and great vox from Paul Lancia...

From: Jimbo Date: January 21, 2005 at 7:48
This band fits in with the Van Halen, BulletBoys, White Lion crowd--wide open "recording in the rec room" production values, lots of talent and a penchant for heavier hair metal and hard rock. But my beef is that these guys seemed to take themselves too seriously. The cover photos are hilarious (zero smiles, too few shirts), and the songs are kind of stilted in spots as if they were afraid to just open it up. All in all, a better than average slice of hair metal worth a listen, but not a fave.

From: z4roxx Date: January 21, 2005 at 19:36
ahahahaha Jimbo, you're right about cover...zero smiles, they want to seam like top model hard rockers, but they don't know that not many girls have this cd!ahahahah!!

From: J Campbell Date: January 26, 2005 at 8:56
I think Bart Walsh went on to play with David Lee Roth a few years ago so. I remember seeing Pair-a-Dice fliers back in the day. I'd love to hear this, does anybody have a copy of this and/or the Pair-a-Dice demos that they could hook me up with? e-mail me at: jasonbcampbell@comcast.net

From: LV KIX Date: February 1, 2005 at 22:28
* This isn't one of my favs... it's typical Hollywood Strip rock. Don't get me wrong, there are a few good tunes on here. I do have CDRs for trade...if interested, post email here... Dave

From: Chad Date: February 2, 2005 at 18:42
Hey Dave- Can't seem to find this one. Even on ebay. I would be willing to do a trade. Email me at erdmannchad@hotmail.com I am sure I have something you would be interested in...Chad

From: Great Dane Date: February 2, 2005 at 23:19
Ive seen it on sale on www.gemm.com The price was 69,- USD.

From: J Campbell Date: February 3, 2005 at 11:30
Dave, I'm interested as well. E-mail me at: jasonbcampbell@comcast.net

From: LV KIX Date: February 11, 2005 at 14:33
Chad, I have tried to email twice and for some reason it isn't working. There is no problem getting you a copy if I can get ahold of you.

From: Chad Date: February 11, 2005 at 14:52
Dave- Not sure why you can't reach me by email. Try going to the message board and sending me a personal message (pm) that way.

From: LV KIX Date: February 15, 2005 at 0:04
I can't believe how many people want this one. I've made a few copies over the last week or two, and even tried to listen to this one again. I guess it is ok, but I'm still think it is alittle over-rated. If anyone wants a copy of this, remind me not to listen to it this time around.

From: J Campbell Date: February 15, 2005 at 13:12
Hey Dave, thanks for the copy! After listening to it, I have to agree with you, it's a pretty average sounding cd. Nothing really stands out and makes you want to hear it again.

From: LV KIX Date: February 15, 2005 at 14:11
Sorry Jason... If you want any others I have, let me know. I always try to be honest with my opinion here. Just seems like most people really like this one. Maybe I'm just missing something.

From: stryper Date: July 27, 2005 at 9:02
had this one for a while now.but havn't heard it in awhile.it ain't bad.but there are better glam sleeze bands that are much better than this lot.they've got the look.but something is missing with the songs.no big hucks like poison or warrant motley crue.not that they sound like these bands.nothing special i'm affraid imo...

From: z4roxx Date: November 8, 2005 at 11:54
Greatest band in the indie’s american scene of ever,IMO.They joint in a perfect way melodick hard rock with killer glam riffs and rhythms, awesome voice by Paul Lancia, fantastic and stunning choruses around all killer songs performed by high quality musicians, really a shame they didn t sign for a major(especially for production, excellent but not awesome and guitar solo soundings). Can t live without hearing this cd once every 2 months, they are not inferior to cult bands like Danger Danger,Tyketto

From: Mustaine_TW Date: February 11, 2006 at 23:56
great band great album, but hard to find...

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 5, 2006 at 11:39

From: Rikki F Date: August 7, 2006 at 17:33
I've bought this one today för 60 swedish crowns very cheap. Not really my cup oF tea but I will use it for trading against other rare cds.

From: so-many-tears Date: December 27, 2006 at 17:02
Very nice melodic metal keeping the 80's metal alive. Lancia is a bit hard to describe as they are similar in style to a softer Dokken, but similar to Warrant, Firehouse, Cry Wolf...By now you get the picture. Yes Sweet Melody, Goodbye and The Promise are three killers. From track 1 to 9 the cd is a 10/10. The last two tracks are very week and boring. You can skip. They may also appeal to fans of Skid Row.

From: Chad Date: December 31, 2006 at 1:13
I would have to agree with Dave on this. Not really that much that stands out on this one. It is (and has) a solid melodic rock sound to it and should appeal to "hair" fans. There just is not really a standout song on it. It is very listenable and sounds good it just does not "stick" with me. I have listened to it dozens of times yet I could not tell you the name of any of the tracks. This one is very vanilla. Good yes but not really worth remembering.

From: Metal T Date: January 4, 2009 at 19:32
GREAT f-n album! Hadn't heard this in awhile...until recently and still sounds fantastic.Well crafted tunes, great guitar work and some d*mn fine vox from Paul. That 'Pain Sweet Symphony' geez-that still tears some serious ass.'Goodbye' etc.. all good stuff,Pisses all over alot that was out at the time.Distribution channels for this disc were never too good and this sucker deserves all the reissue/remaster/rerelease treatment it can get.Saw Walsh w/DLR many years ago and he sounded great.

From: the rocker Date: June 14, 2009 at 20:02
this is a good cd. if sweet melody came out in 88, it would have been big. i can hear warrant all over the tune jimmy.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 7, 2009 at 20:44
When i started to listen to this album i was astonished with the open track "You Can't Keep A Good Man Down" with that energetic beat and some killer bass lines courtesy of Mr Billings but then the second track made me feel like ???¿¿¿...didn't like it at all and of course i was temerous that the rest of the album was on the same line,i mean, one good song and then disaster but man was i mistaken!!!..after track 3 all hell broke loose!!!being the highlight song "Sweet Melody" with that mix of Glam and AOR...

From: rick kerch vzla Date: August 7, 2009 at 20:50
...and not 2 mention "Still In Love" (beautiful),"Goodbye","Tattooed Love Toy" and "The Promise"...shamely the band couldn't break through as Grunge was filtering every kid's brain...anyway,great album perhaps one of the best underrated Glam/HR albums of the beggining of the 90's...i'll give this a 90/100

From: Tim Date: October 7, 2010 at 15:59
Awesome vocals and guitar on this one! Highly recommended for MHR fans (especially Hardline,Brunette,Firehouse enthusiasts). #6 is my personal fav.(see it on YouTube); even though I love some of the others. At least 8.7+ in my book.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 15, 2011 at 10:55
One of the greatest melodic hard rock/hair-metal indies to ever grace the scene, and worth every damn penny you spend to obtain a copy for your collection. I would rather gouge my eye out with a rusty spoon and then be skull-f*cked by an elephant than go without this CD.

From: 123charpenay Date: November 30, 2012 at 16:18
sincerely i am very surprised by others comments on the site.all says that this record is excellent.sorry i am not agree with you.i think this record is very very average nothing special.one thousand bands on the world plays the same very common hard rock.this band have absoluty any chance to stay in the hard rock history.

From: hair metal again Date: March 28, 2014 at 4:09
excellent debut by LANCIA,powerful, anthemic with great songs, looks &attitude!the hair metal movement is the best thing that ever happened in hard rock music and i m proud i lived it on real time !"sweet melody',"still in love with you",'jimmy" ,"goodbye" are all sensational songs!essential for hard rockers

From: JONBONPIGO Date: September 22, 2014 at 19:11
Definitely...has the Melodic Metal Vibe...of the time...but something is missing...You Wanted the REST...You got the REST... LANCIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU" is the Go to track...

From: glam_junkie Date: February 22, 2016 at 22:51
take the 2 best songs off this album and it's average at best. was expecting a lot more based on its reputation, but honestly.... 10% killer, 90% filler. Quite disappointed in this one. Maybe my expectations were too high?

From: 123charpenay Date: May 17, 2018 at 13:07
decent hard u s record.not more.absoluty nothing new and original under the sun.i ve the feeling to have hearing this kind of american hard rock one thousand times.average stuff.the price of this cd is totally crazy on ebay.save your money.
