One of the very few real "gems" of East-Coast Sleaze Metal. Musically and sonically superb ! GRAB it, if you ever get the chance to !

From: Chris Date: March 26, 2002 at 10:30
I first got this cassette in 1988. I never gave it up. It is still one of my all time favorites. It's a must have!! The songs are ageless. This is a real classic

From: Ribap Date: April 30, 2002 at 14:20
Awesome, pure rock and roll. This should be teached at school!!!

From: WikkedWulf Date: May 17, 2002 at 14:20
One of the most under-rated albums of all time. 'White Trash Queen' & 'In The Wind' are raw rock masterpieces. Pity they had only a few albums out!

From: Blue Tequila Date: May 17, 2002 at 23:14
Lucky me--picked this up at a pawn shop for $3.00 in mint condition. White Trash Queen and Motor ROCK!!!

From: tradition Date: June 22, 2002 at 14:19
I just re-found this CD. Man it rocks. Of all the sleaze bands, this one comes closest to the raw-uncompromising sound of GnR App. f Dest. If you get a chance pick this one up.

From: Kevin D. Date: June 27, 2002 at 22:41
Great album, loved it when it came out and still listen to it. I like "Vices" also.

From: William Date: July 9, 2002 at 16:24
I remember I was 17 when I bought this record and it never left my turn table. Anyone remember vinyl??? Circus of Power belongs in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame not for their stardom (we all know that) but for their legacy and the kick ass music they provide to their fans. I saw them perform in 2000 with L.A. Guns. Fantastic show!

From: kelly Date: July 18, 2002 at 8:44
in '89 my band "snydley whiplash" covered motor and letters home. these songs went over big time with the crowd. my tape has broken twice but i was able to fix it, thank God, cause i can't find it anywhere. the whole tape is awesome!

From: hakksaw Date: January 31, 2004 at 3:00
Anybody know where there are any soundclips on these guys? been hearing nothing but great reviews on this album, but don't want to pay 30 bucks on ebay....yet.

From: TIM Date: January 31, 2004 at 11:59
hakksaw, I can send you some mp3s if you'd like. Also, I have an album I'd sell for cheap. I have a cd, so I no longer need it. I might have a cassette, but I doubt it. Also, if you have the movie "The Burbs," at one point you'll see Corey Feldman painting the house and "Machine" is going in the background. rio1harris@aol.com

A must have. A masterpiece. R'n'R!!! They're the best. Circus Of Power rulez.

From: Headbangin Man Date: June 26, 2004 at 15:18
Great album; I too had it on vinyl, got rid of it, and regretted it. Finally tracked it down on e-bay. "Motor" has always been one of my faves, but once I got the cd, I rediscovered the whole thing. I simply made a wav file, and deleted the beginning of "Needles" which is otherwise a GREAT song!

From: DANTE Date: September 17, 2004 at 3:28
Joder este album es una pasada, rock'n'roll de principio a fin, no hay ningun tema de relleno, ideal para saborearlo mientras conduces y es que para mi es la quintaesencia del sonido sleazy angelino. Merecieron mejor suerte. Algún tema destacable? TODOS!!!

From: hardrockr40 Date: October 27, 2004 at 6:40
This band is great!!! Thanks to this site for helping me find such a lost treasure. They sound like Steve Jones on his "Fire & Gasoline" cd. This one will kick your ass. Does anyone have any other suggestions for bands of this kind of music? Unknown bands?

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: February 20, 2005 at 7:10

From: onemorecast Date: March 10, 2005 at 23:22
I thought motor was good, but I haven't heard anything else.

From: Rockhead Date: March 11, 2005 at 2:53
White Trash Queen is my fave-it has an immense groove-great guitar led Cd

From: AOR freaky Date: March 11, 2005 at 4:23
You must be an idiot to write that this is a great CD ! I only use your words, Rockhead ! If you insult me, why shouldn't I replie ? ! Best, mate ! And learn a bit more about REAL MUSIC ! HA ! HA !

From: MorbidMe Date: August 20, 2005 at 20:50

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: August 23, 2005 at 11:39

From: metalhead4life Date: December 13, 2006 at 14:20
Machine is a cool song; has the party harty gang vocals; first heard that song in the movie "The Burbs" which is why I bought this CD. CD also has a few other decent to good songs. If you're looking for something very melodic, high pitched vocals, and technical then don't buy; but for just straight up more raw hard rock then it's recommended.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: December 25, 2006 at 22:30
This is a nice decent debut even though you can read diverse comments about it.Personally "White thrash queen" & "Motor" are good songs in a typical hard rock sleazee thing but with a rough edge.Raw'n'roll in here folks!.

From: Metal T Date: January 8, 2007 at 17:02
Should be reissued and made more readily available! Folks shouldn't have to take out a f**king mortgage to secure a copy...i remember the brunette under the hood in the "Motor" vid-------very nice.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 4, 2007 at 19:37
That's right Metal T!!!.

From: rockhardrock Date: April 9, 2009 at 17:48
very good hard rock album. Alex's vocals are awsome-this voice goes along with the band's playing. my fav. songs on this album: Motor (their best song),Call of the Wild, In the Wind and Heart Attack.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: August 29, 2010 at 2:52
I'd always heard what an underrated classic this disc was, so I guess it's natural I might be a bit disappointed when I finally got ahold of it. To me, I'm hearing some early, raw, GnR, minus the hooks, and maybe some Four Horsemen, again, minus the hooks. I get the feeling that the songs are there, but Alex Mitchell's vocals are echoey, not particularly melodic, and just don't really stand out, and the guitars have a tinny, buzzy sound similar to L.A. Guns's poorly-produced debut. This just doesn't strike me as a particularly memorable disc, and I really was looking forward to it, being a fan of that whole "biker-metal" thing.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 23, 2011 at 18:24
Raw'N'Roll!!!...dirty mean biking Rock & Roll by all means!!!..."Motor",White Trash Queen"(Love this one),"In The Wind"( ),"Heart Attack","Letters Home"(in this song the voice of Alex Mitchell is incredibly alike to Mick Jagger ) & "Backseat Mama" are top tracks without any waste!!!...from time to time is good 2 undust my vinyls and spin them again...89/100

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: February 27, 2014 at 18:20
Okay, been listening to this disc again, and I like it better than I did at first. Good tracks are "Motor," "White Trash Queen," "Heart Attack" (which is almost the same song as "motor"), "Letters Home," 'Machine" and 'Turn Up The Jams." But still, it's hard to see CIrcus Of Power as anything more than an average band with average songs, a below-average singer and below-average production. They were probably great live, but it just doesn't come across in the studio.

From: hair metal again Date: August 29, 2021 at 10:12
Excellent debut for COP back in 88 offering a raw sleazy solid hard rock sound with a strong street feel that is their trademark!"motor","call of the wild","heart attack" are fine songs indeed
