Gotta go with ya there Scan,the debut is where it is at.I read somewhere that this release was going to be more like the first. It is not near like the alternative crap these guys have been putting out.I would say get it,but dont expect it to be as good as the first.but isnt bad.

The soundbytes suggest this is somewhere between the debut and the latter 2 albums (the apalling "Flux" isnt listed on HH). The lighter songs don't sound as catchy as those on the debut and the heavier songs don't quite sound as alternative as previous. It sounds a million miles from the classic debut to me.

Hi guys. I think you'll find the first 7 tracks are demos from around 1990 before the band got signed - great tracks, especially 'Main attraction' - as good as anything off the debut, and track 8-12 are demos/b-sides from the latter (awful) years. It's good to have as part of the collection but extremely poor sound quality prevents me from turning volume up beyond very low range. 7 cool songs, appalling sound quality... but no new material here, I believe. Correct me if I'm wrong.

After a few more listens I've discovered that if you listen to this one through ear phones the sound is okay / listenable. I had a wonderful session the other day with decent volume. The recent tracks are still poor, but the first 7 are all great, traditional Masquerade. Not as good as the debut (except 'Main attraction'), but a bunch of very good songs and definately recommended to Masquerade fans as a piece of the band's history.

I am very pleased with this release. Although its hard to surpass the debut CD. This is light years beyond Flux and I hear that the band is going back into the studio for a '05 release that is to be pointed toward the same material as the debut. The last 4 tracks are tolerable. I would say if you dig Masquerade at all or even Classic TNT, this is a great release. Dunno what your playing it on Geoff, but I blast it on my surround sound system and it rocks! Criss

Pense que eran canciones nuevas cuando lo pedi, pero eran demos hay buenas canciones pero hubiera preferido que las grabaran de nuevo por que tienen potencial.El sonido no es bueno y por ese precio..... Las últimas cuatros canciones no tienen nada que ver.Tengo el segundo cd de ellos y son mucho mejor que estas canciones.Lo bueno es que tienen planeado sacar uno nuevo ojala sea hard melódico.

I've really tried, but this is just horrible. The sound quality is indeed pretty poor, and IMO the songs are just as bad. The debut worked because it not only had great tunes but was immaculately produced, but these tunes just don't work and the whole package is aimed at both old and new Masquerade fans equally and falls somewhere inbetween. Rene may be right, if you love the heavier side of TNT you may just enjoy this, but if you're after a clone of the S/T debut then look elsewhere. 4/10.

All Masquerade discography is awful and horrible except their debut!I hope they'll change their name so I'll not compare this band to their ultra awesome debut masterpiece....S H A M E!!!!

The first song "Main attraction" is very cool, reminds me of "Love or hate" from VICIOUS MARY for its cool & heavy riff. The song is also on the '99s rerelease of the debut --that's why I know it.

hi-from COSTA RICA,a mi me parece que es un buen disco,un puñado de canciones que habian quedado fuera de su super debut de 1992,que lamentablemente no entraron y que en el 2004 se van todavia señales de MASQUERADE ycon la esperanza de que ellos editen su nueva entrega en studio cruzando los dedos que vaya en la onda de su album MAQUERADE de 1992.para muestra de lo que vendria aparece este IN DISGUISE,conteniendo esas canciones muy al sonido del tradicional MASQUERADE,solo escucha la entrada

MAIN ATTRACTION con su cortante riff de guitarra,que decir de ALONE AGAIN una buena cancion sin duda alguna,la potentes voces de tony yoanson muy a lo TONY HARNELL en LONELY CRY.la que si mas me cautivo fue la balada IN YOUR EYES preciosa la mejor balada de masquerade.para seguir con la rockera y un tanto en la onda TREAT de THE ROSE.pero vendria la sensacional de STOP y la genial y melodica de RUNNING OUT OF TIME para mi una de las mejores de este disco rock melodico fino y la instrumental de

NIPPON SYMPHONY un cruce entre RONNI LE TEKRO/YNGWIE MALMSTEEN.hasta aqui fue lo mejor de IN DISGUISE ,lo mas lamentable de esta entrega es las 4 ultimas canciones tomadas de los discos SURFACE OF PAIN Y FLUX.yo compre este disco solo por las primeras 8 canciones y vale la pena haberlo comprado por esas 8 canciones.crucemos los dedos que puede que lo que venga sea mejor.IN DISGUISE=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8=10/10 (maujobarksott@hotmail.com)

La verdad que a sabiendas que son demos pues no te esperes una buena producción pero los temas tienen su potencial como dice Beto, muy buenos riffs que recuerdan a su gran disco debut. La voz si que se parece a Tony Harnell, no me gusta por cierto. Está disfrutable el disco, "In Your Eyes" es una gran balada que merece ser re-hecha así como casi todo el disco, son buenas canciones sobretodo los primeros temas. 7/10

JUST OK 70/100 I'm a big fan of both 1st & 2nd ALBUM even if they are quite different to say at least but this one is weak ,some songs are OK but they sound like leftoff from the first releases even "flux" is better ! The prod.varies from good to horrible like second rate demos ! But if you are a fan like me sometimes you can hear a good RIFF or godd vocal line that remind you ,the good old days !

Here the band had a second breath of creativeness i believe but with some "Flux" sound still around this time mixed with some pure rock in it...the instrumental track "Nippon Symphony" is perhaps the highlight of the album...some other moments are the rocking songs "Main Attraction" & "So Surreal",then tracks 3,6 & 7 are also appealing...75/100

Don't know what everyone is bitching here about this cd. It sound fucking awesome. Similar to the debut. powerfull sound and strong songs.
