This band IMO had the potential (in the right hands) to make a solid major label album circa mid/late 80's. Producer Tony Bongiovi led the group to record a few tracks and the band got shopped around to few major labels but never sealed the deal. The opening track "One Man" is catchy, the only problem is with 17 tracks, there is filler and the play list order of the songs could have used more punch. The second best track is way down at track #16 "Just Say Goodbye" which is in MHR territory. The problem is too many light weight AOR leaning songs in the beginning of the album so it loses it's tempo. It would have been interesting to see a Beau Hill, ect weave their magic to see what this band was capable of back in the day. Would have, could have , should have. I dimly recall a band called Bugzy (same spelling) out of South Jersey having a very minor radio hit called "Pizza" during my senior year of high school. This would have been early '98. It was very "modern-rock" sounding, detailing the singer "sitting 'round in my bikini briefs," watching nothing on TV, and telling his ex-girlfriend "If you ever come back, could you bring some pizza?" They had a second single that was much more in classic hard-rock territory, a ballad called "Father Time." I didn't think either song got much beyond East Coast radio. In fact, I thought that album was on HH (I remember commenting on it), but nope, not there. Huh! |
