One of the most under-rated Kansas albums, this is a CD that satisfies me start-to-finish. I would rank this one right up with "Leftoverture" and "Point of No Return" as highlights of the Livgren era. |

Another cool album, very dark and moody though. "People Of The South Wind" was a top 30 hit, but isn't representative of the album as a whole. "On The Other Side", "How My Soul Cries Out For You", and "Away From You" are probably my favorite tunes from Monolith, and "Stay Out Of Trouble" is a really hip, cool Kansas song IMHO. |

Oh boy I need to get this one again soon. My feeble memory is telling me it is almost as good as the supreme 'Leftoverture'/'Point of Know Return' combination... And, folks - that is GOOD! Y'know Kansas should still be huge but I think they have trouble selling tickets for their gigs which is a crying shame. Oh well I don't suppose they're short of a few $$ so why worry? I hope they keep on touring long enough for me to finally catch a show! Kansas live are probably almost as good as Magnum!! |

I have a cassette of this album with a different cover( naked woman statue). Is there also a CD release with this cover ? |

Excellent and under-rated as Koogles mentioned earlier and Holyroller nails it with dark and moody. If you want over the top pomp ... you got it, if you want some atmospheric ballads .. you got it, if you want some out and out rockers .. you got it. You get it?? Then get it!! Jeeez I sound like a bad car salesman!!! How My Soul Cries Out For You may be one of my fave Kansas songs ever...it totally rocks. I'm gonna have to pull this out of the old collection and get the air guitar/keybord out!! |

Every time this gets a spin in my player, I cannot get through the whole thing at once. Sure it has it's moments but one of their best overall? Not hardly. Especially, after the last two albums. Still, worth plodding through for hints of the glory days. |

I guess I am just a huge fan. This disc is great. It would be nice to see it get re-mastered. |
