The first 6 songs are excellent slab of Melodic Rock. I love the ballad "Live To Love Again" very touchable and emotional. Tracks 7,9,10,14 seems like Fillers IMHO. After Glow with Deen on vocals is great! "All Day And All Night" is different but perfect for my ears. Production could've been more beefed up but it's not problem, sounds great anyway. I would have left it in 10 or 11 songs. For me better than "Generations" "Eclipse" or "Revelation". Arnel's vocals sounds more authentic, superb!. 90 |

The production/mix alone makes me turn my back on this, it's absolutely horrific. How a band of Journey's stature can let this production abomination be released boggles the mind. Schon said this is their new 'Escape' LOL. While there are some decent songs here they are ruined by the production, which is simply a mess. When you hear bands such as 'Cats In Space' releasing albums with absolute pristine production/mix every year on their low budget makes me wonder just WTF makes Schon and Cain (with the huge budget they quite obviously have) think that this is good enough to release in 2022. 'Freedom' is also too long and some of the songs themselves are too long. Its such a pity as i had high hopes for this being a long time fan of the band. Even being a fan though doesn't save this one for me, some good songs can't save it, not with the sound it has. I scratch my head every time i play it, and i always ask myself the same question 'What the hell were they thinking'. |

I always appreciate legendary artists/bands putting out new music and further, we must give credit doing so during an unprecedented pandemic. Overall, this is an okay album for me, but it does have that "socially distant" feel to it, lacking cohesiveness and "vibe." Call it weak production; it feels a bit impersonal. I'm an Arnel fan and especially a Deen fan; I wish he was more involved on this album. |

The songs on this release are of very high standard. The production lets the team down. I have listened to the album 5x now because I am enjoying the songs. I am trying to describe what effect the production has - it is a wall-of-sound approach that makes the whole "murky". Most affected are the guitars that are buried in the mix. Which is a weird issue for a band with a genuine guitar hero. |
