Simple! If you like the sound off Kiss with Eric Carr and Bruce Kulick you will love this band. The singer sounds like Paul Stanley's twin voice

Do I recommend this album? Yes. I bought this album when it first came out in 1987. Definitely one of the best bands in Christian Music. "Breakaway" and "Overdrive" are hard driven rockers.

This is an awesome debut album by one of my fav christian artists. Lots of good hard rockin' tunes and really melodic, inspiring songs like 'Take It' and 'Silent Hope'.

One of the very best christian AOR acts. Sometimes compared to Styx, but I don't think so. There are some influences, but not enough to call 'em surrogate Styx ! Good band !

From the rockin' Breakaway ,Overdrive and Come alive hits to the more mellow Silent Hope and Take It, the lyrics are of encouragment and inspiration. What a great debut album ! Search, find, and add it to your collection.

This is without a doubt one of the best christian record that I ever heard! Pure AOR mixed with fantastic melodic rockers and superb ballads, not a weak moment on this one! So if you're into bands like Aviator, Q5 (When the mirror cracks) and Strangeways, you should like this one to.

From: Rycheage Date: March 12, 2004 at 22:34
Lead singer Steve Shannon has obviously taken a leaf out of Bob Carlisle's vocal dictionary and is strong all the way through. The arrangements are all class. One listen to the gorgeous 'Take It', will stamp it as of the best Christian ballads around. A stunning track. Not to be outdone, are equally ear-friendly tracks such as 'Silent Hope', and the riff happy affairs that are 'Come Alive' and 'Breakaway'.

I've always liked idle cure right from the beginning. i first heard their music on frontline records vol.1 with other bands including bloodgood and shout eventually i heard their self titled debut and it just exploded out of my speakers the best christian band ever. still listen to them now

This is a true gem. Softer than i thought it'd be but still very good. "Breakaway" is my fave here...

From: Kim HP Date: February 18, 2005 at 12:33
Indeed a very good 80's melodic rock album. "Breakaway", "Silent Hope" and "Overdrive" are stunning hard rock tracks, but the ballads contained here (tracks 3 and 7) are also great. Recommended.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 13, 2005 at 1:03

Awesome melodic rock,AOR,Breakaway blew me away with those infectious chorus and guitars, other highlights are Come back to me(pure AOR!),Overdrive(mighty riffs),strong release,a must-have,9/10.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: July 31, 2010 at 11:42
If you love great Christian hard AOR/melodic rock, then you really need to have this album on your shelf and believe me when I tell you it won't just sit there idly collecting dust. If you're jonesin' for Paul Stanley-style vocals, big hooks, catchy choruses, and lots of backing vox, then consider this CD the cure.

Decent AOR/Hi-Tech AOR...my fave songs are the nice ones "Breakaway" & "Take It" plus songs 4,6 & 8...75/100
