This is the ultimate hard rock band!! plus they are a Christian band to boot. strong vocals and awesome guitars. Think of a rough version of whitesnake meets bon jovi

From: pony 66 Date: May 12, 2001 at 19:27
If you like this be sure to pick up the AdrianGale CD at Kivelrecords.com. Jamie sings with the same power and passion as on this CD

From: Chris Date: September 18, 2001 at 20:22
I was not as impressed with this outing as I was with the first. The singer is different on this CD which gives the band a rougher edge. It is a competent disc just not in the class of 'First Watch'.

From: Rush Date: January 28, 2002 at 9:55
Definately my favourite Guardian album...before they went barking mad with Buzz and the other modern rock discs...

From: chaser Date: February 4, 2002 at 11:16

From: A guitar player Date: February 21, 2002 at 1:23
It is rare to find a CD where none of the songs disappoint. This is it. 10 fantastic songs back to back to back...

From: NITRO Date: April 5, 2002 at 23:40
THE BEST OF THE BEST GREAT ALBUM WORDS FOR WHAT BUY AND DYE !!!

From: tman Date: June 19, 2002 at 16:22
Definately different from the first album. But what a change. These guys got better. Very solid and catchy songs. Great musicians christian or not. This album is a must who like commercial hardrock/metal with a hint of blues with it. Jamie Rowe's voice is one of a kind.

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: July 29, 2002 at 3:49
Mucho mas trabajado que el primero, algunos temas bastante brillantes y dos baladas cojonudas.VALE LA PENA.

From: David C. Date: January 16, 2003 at 1:44
This is my favorite album from Guardian! Back to Back hits! This album should be called The Very Best of Guardian! On a scale of 1 - 10, I would give it 1,000,000!!! AWESOME ALBUM GUYS!

From: Steve F. Date: February 10, 2003 at 2:38
I played this album to death when I first got it; Tony Palacios was simply ripping on guitar! In retrospect, it ended up sounding like a lot of John and Dino Elefante's records from Pakaderm (i.e. Kanasas), but Tony's playing saves it.

From: drewman202 Date: April 14, 2003 at 17:53
A little commercial for my taste, but good for what it is. Jamie Rowe's vocal kicks tail! Definitely for the commercial metal crowd though.

From: Jeremy Date: June 12, 2003 at 8:39
Oh yes! One of the very best Christian Albums Made. Turnaround is one of the best Written and Composed Songs I have ever Heard. That song is Commercially Perfected: Intro,Structure,Bridge,Solo,Sound. Palacios has Excellent control(esp in his string skipping)via Paul Gilbert Style and His timing is Excellent. Good use of Arpeggio Sweeps esp in the Song 'Power of Love'. 10 Awesome Songs. Jamie Rowes Voice Is Pioneer( Original) like a Vince Neil. Miracle Mile is a Awesome Album as well.

From: Burnsy Date: August 5, 2003 at 1:13

From: King James Date: October 11, 2003 at 16:25
Great, solid metal. All the songs are really good, no fillers. Good guitar solos and good vocals, too. Better than Stryper. The best Christian-metal I've ever heard. Very impressive.

From: illimey Date: January 28, 2004 at 23:04
If you (like me) think that music requires melody, emotion and power then look no further than this classic album. Definitely Guardian's best effort (of those I've heard) and a few of the tracks stand amongst the finest melodic rock moments ever recorded.

From: jessica96fish Date: May 26, 2004 at 15:54
wow.this really is a class rock album.only heard it twice.love his voice.much better than the first guy.well worth getting.a must have.

From: Rush32 Date: June 5, 2004 at 6:05
Still the best Guardian disc...i think Jamie Rowe's awesome vocals really make this disc. The follow up Miracle Mile was also pretty good and the previous disc First Watch really lacked Jamie's vocals but was musically good. This is the disc i recommend to anyone looking for great hard rock, 80's arena style and is one of the best out there in the secular or Christian market.

From: Rodimus Date: August 11, 2004 at 23:33
Definately an awsome album! This reminds me of a mix between Bon jovi and Jaded Heart. Every song is excellent. Along with stryper, a good Christain melodic rock band

From: Kittythecat Date: October 9, 2004 at 21:05
I love this album. Nothing else need to say, I just love it!

From: Harry Date: December 4, 2004 at 12:18
I am definitely Impressed by this album. As conservative as I am in my musical taste, I can't help but become addicted to every song on this album. Guardian Rocks! The 1st song 'Power of Love' is a perfect 10+! Its great that these guys are still on tour together, unlike Stryper who tried a reunion comeback, but just seemed to eventually fade away because they don't have enough new stuff to grab our attention. The members of Guardian just continue to make great songs on each of their albums. A++

From: Geoff Date: February 16, 2005 at 4:03
Musically so powerful and this could have been a stunning release, I just plain and simply think they f*cked up in writing the choruses. Just look at 'Turnaround'. Possibly the best hard rock verses / riff ever, just shot down by an awful chorus. Still, killer track. The only complete song here IMO is the sensational 'Time stands still'. Still one of my fave songs today and a true gem - perfect. 'Forever and a day' is another gem with a weak chorus, and that's how most of the CD goes for me

From: Gnostic Date: April 20, 2005 at 10:51
Fuckin' Christian band - I just hate bands with a message of light, love and harmony.. This is fake and totally fundamentalist. I do not appreciate people trying to put their believe onto me....

From: Metal T Date: March 31, 2008 at 20:19
Exit Paul Cawley, enter Jaime Rowe (was not a big fan of that move).Still, however 'Guardian' manage to make a pretty decent album.Unfortunately after this record they totally lose me...

From: overkillrulz Date: March 21, 2009 at 10:10
Excellent album, definitely their best. Every song is a 10/10.

From: hair metal again Date: May 15, 2009 at 2:08
excellent album, great moments like 'time stands still' and 'forever and a day'.sharp guitars ,big vocals good production by john and dino elefante.i want to say that whatever was released from 87 to92 was great.those were the glory dayz......

From: metalmaniac777 Date: February 14, 2010 at 10:14
This CD is so good that it should come packaged with a rubber mat to prevent your jaw from shattering when it drops to the floor. The shredding melodic metal of their previous album is replaced (along with original vocalist Paul Cawley) on this one by red-hot, fired-up commercial hard rock that is belted out with emotive power to spare by the awesome Jamie Rowe. Adding to the album's appeal is the legendary production talents of John & Dino Elefante, who simply never failed to make any of their bands sound absolutely fantastic. If you love big guitars (Palacios rips!), big hooks (Jaded Heart would be jealous), big choruses (Bon Jovi would approve), big vocals (can you say wall of sound?), and big production (it's the Elefantes...what else do you need to know?), then you'll love this CD, a true Christian hard rock classic.

From: elljam Date: March 19, 2012 at 6:32
It's not often you get albums this good throughout with not a duff track to spoil it. Ballsy hard rock with plenty of melody, great vocals & a decent production. The bombastic opening tracks of "Power of love" & "Send a message" set the tone followed by album highlight "Time Stands Still" (the best song I've ever heard from a Christian hard rock band). Other beauties among the many are "Takin' on the world", "Time & time again" & "Turnaround" which would have been a killer with a stronger chorus (but that's me being extremely picky). BUY IY !!

From: patriotsfan29 Date: July 26, 2012 at 20:07
I personally think these guys made an outstanding record with this release. I wasn't a monster fan of the debut, but this record is definitely a winner.

From: Auslander Date: April 28, 2021 at 13:16
The new Guardian who drop the space metal for driving bluesy hard rock. The new vocalist has a gritty true rock voice. The album starts off well with the aptly named powerful "Power of Love". Send a Message keeps up the pace, while Time Stands Still is a mid-tempo semi-ballad. Forever and a Day is a ballad and Takin on the World is a bit forgettable. Fire and Love has a great chorus and a mid-album highlight. Turnaround is an ok track let down by the chorus. Time and Time Again is another excellent mid-tempo song. The Rain is an epic! Starts acoustic and then blasts out of the speakers with a killer riff and thundering drums. My favourite song on the album. Never Say Goodbye is a nice ballad to end the disc. All in all this is Guardian's best release. Essential rated A.
