Many of the tracks are nothing short of exceptional, not even anything close to a filler can be found. The middle portion of the album is particularly special with stunning tracks such as 'State Of Grace' and 'Creep'. House of Shakira have usually been about experimenting, but this time around the sound is more settled and less quirky. There is a seamless flow throughout the album and by the time you get to the end you're grabbing the speaker screaming, 'Give me more!! Excellent stuff!!

Never been a fan of this third rate act and this new one doesn't change my mind at all. Weak, boring, third rate (so-called) AOR ! My God, what is this band BORING !!! Together with Harem Scarem worst act in whole melodic field ! AVOID !

From: Rockhead Date: June 24, 2004 at 7:55
Freaky Chill!!!!! No need to call names!!! Rychage is entitled to his opinion as are you and I!!. I would hardly call HOS boring. I have always felt they pushed boundaries musically by incorporating Far Eastern and African influences into their music. How many other bands can say that? Boring therefore not quite the right description. I agree not all their works have been excellent but when they get it right I think they are as good as any of the recent groups in the same field.

From: AOR freaky Date: June 24, 2004 at 10:02
Hi Rockhead : I didn't insult Rycheage on this one at all, but this is a bad band, just because they mix everything (African, Far Eastern etc.) ! That's just why they are so boring to me ! You can always try to sound original, but you can als try too hard, like these guys !

From: Rockhead Date: June 24, 2004 at 10:57
My apologies Freaky you asked Rychage if he was crap on the Dubrow topic!! How are they boring IYO? is it the arrangements/Production/Songs? I ask because I find them anything but. In truth I am unaware of mixing the different cultural rythums on the same song, but on say Lint I thought it was a breath of fresh air. Over The Edge was alittle samey but III I thought was a solid melodic ablum with good production, good playing and catchy songs. A couple missed the mark but overall it was good.

From: Gringo Date: June 24, 2004 at 17:05
House of Shakira is a first rate band, but won't be everybody's cup of tea. And the fact that freaky states Harem Scarem to be one of the worst acts in the AOR field completely shows his ignorance. About the only thing I'd avoid is freaky's useless comments.

From: AOR freaky Date: June 25, 2004 at 8:20
Gringo : I don't like this record at all, and yes, Harem Scarem is crap ! Why ? You call 'em AOR (only their first was great), I call 'em nu-breed now, and I hate that kind of alternative/modern stuff ! Nuff said !

From: HaremScaremFan Date: July 5, 2004 at 2:30
Freaky...I agree that From VOR til that RUBBER incarnation was SHIT, but how can you forget 'Mood Swings'??? Has to be one of THE best Melodic Rock CDs of all-time. ANYWAY.....HOS is a top-notch band. FAR better than some of the crap that is shoved in our collective ears....

From: FERNANDO Date: July 8, 2004 at 23:20
NO ES UN SUPER GRUPO PERO NO SON ABURRIDOS TIENEN BUENAS CANCIONES I DON`UNDERSTAND WHY CALL HOS IS BORING ACT. FORGIVE ME BUT I DONT SPEAK ENGLISH. LA BALADA FINAL DEL PRIMER DISCO ME PARECE UNA EXCELENTE CANCION

From: jacko Date: July 14, 2004 at 7:48

From: AOR freaky Date: July 14, 2004 at 15:42
Dear jacko, I'm afraid I don't like this boring band. So I suppose I'm the prick. Well, let it be so ! But if these guys are AOR gods, then you don't know very little about true, pure AOR, my friend ! All the best !

From: JACKO Date: July 19, 2004 at 7:14
HI FREAKY I LIKED YOUR COMMENTS ON AOR SO GIVE US YOUR TOP BANDS AND I WILL AGREE OR DISAGREE NICE TALKING TO YOU. JACKO

The Babys, Bad English, The Storm, Red Dawn, Heartland, Norway, Jeff Paris, Mark Spiro, Harlequin, Honeymoon Suite, Creed (1978), Hounds, The V.U. etc. etc. I stop before Dan is getting angry, but I think you know enough now ! And yours ? !

From: AOR freaky Date: July 19, 2004 at 14:22
Jacko, it would be a crime to forget Icon, Giant, Ufo, Franke And The Knockouts or Coney Hatch ! And there are lots more ! But I stop ! It's over to you now ! Anyway : I like ALL these acts a lot more than HOS or HS !

From: AOr freaky Date: July 19, 2004 at 14:27
Starz, Montrose and Angel are two other big faves I can't forget ! And then we come to House Of Lords , Giuffria etc. You get the picture ? ! There is so much good stuff out, especially in the seventies and eighties ! You always forget some acts !

From: JACKO Date: July 20, 2004 at 7:33

From: Geoff Date: September 9, 2004 at 20:50
Just when I was starting to cope with AOR Freaky again I see his above statements and I have to wonder what goes on in his mind. I quote: "Weak, boring, third rate (so-called) AOR".How can you respect someone with such thoughts.Okay, you might not like HOS, but weak? HOS are a musical powerhouse, and they are 'weaker' than the majority of AOR acts you mention in your list?! Boring? HOS write some of the most unique, interesting and hook-filled songs in the genre today.Third rate? Oh F*ck AOR Fre

From: Geoff Date: September 9, 2004 at 20:51
AOR Freaky, that is moronic even from you!If you don't like their songs, fair enough, but they are an excellent band regardless of your approval or not.I listened to this CD this morning and made it my goal to come into work and praise it as best I could. This CD is excellent melodic rock, and IMO the best and most consistent of the HOS collection.I hate 'Landing',but LOVE every other track!Seriously.'You are','Creep','State of grace' and 'Celebration bound' are some of the year's best.Killer CD!

This is nothing short of awesome. Tight, melodic, harmony filled, and it rocks on top of that. I can see why Freaky didn't like this one, it definitely reminds me of Harem Scarem in a lot of parts, especially the choruses.

From: metal boy Date: December 11, 2004 at 11:15
Blasphemy ! saying that hos is boring and worst of all , mentioning that harem scarem is boring too is nothing but a big blaspheme . The late Harem Scarem is one of the greatest AOR Bands ever !

From: Blaster Date: January 11, 2005 at 2:34
House Of Shakira is a great hard rock band, so much more original than the bands out nowadays! I swear, sometimes i listen to them and I think I'm listening to Extreme, very similar lead vocalist and harmonies.

From: spaniard Date: March 20, 2005 at 6:10
what are you saying?...This one is almost pathetic...It´s so boring

From: juan carlos Date: May 15, 2007 at 16:58
Buen Rock Melódico y excelente producción pero tampoco un album que descolle. Prefiero su disco debut pero está muy bueno tambien éste. "Creep", "Black Barn", "State of Grace" y la acústica "Chicago Blue" mis favoritas. Buenos solos y algunos buenos cambios y riffs. Bueno. 8/10

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: October 30, 2007 at 3:16
GOOD CD 84/100 not as good as the great "lint" but if you like smart AOR with big B.Vocals it's worth checking !

From: hair metal again Date: December 18, 2011 at 1:22
good release by HOS!their sound is somewhere between Extreme s 3rd one ,Harem Scarem s later ones but not as good.the problem is that most of the songs aren t so catchy and consistent.don t get me wrong though HOS s musicianship is excellent and you can find some hooks like in "you are","sunshine song" and "celebration bound".
