I am an Aerosmith fan (although they have not released anything of any real note in years) and am actually a country fan, so I thought this would appeal to me. Sadly it is not a rock album or a country album. The album starts out really poorly with some songs that I cannot even describe what genre they fit into. There is the odd country twang here and there, but certainly not country songs. The end of the album actually sees most of the best tracks (even if it is only a handful of semi decent songs). There is at least one Aerosmith sounding songs and the country influence becomes more apparent, but over all its a mess of an album. I actually bought this open minded being that I like both genres of rock and country, but came away disappointed. I am sure somebody from somewhere will like it, but not me. |
