Ahh yes...The RIP TIDE rerelease...Wrong cover and a very, very bad sound!!! It's really a shame since the material performed here is excellent.. |

I have this on vinyl and this is the first FATE album i bought. I was a little surprised because the sound(because i was and still am) a big MERCYFUL FATE fan. This is my favorite album by the band. Cool HARD ROCK/MELODIC METAL like early 220 VOLT, MAD MAX, TREAT, TNT, MINDLESS SINNER and even AXEWITCH. |

The songs seem pretty good, but the production was horrible. It's very buried sounding. The drums have no life and it pretty much sounds like they're playing in a cardboard box. |

Rene...If you have it on vinyl it's the original recording..This one is a poor CD version from RIP TIDE. The remastering is horrible... |

Just for Scandi's info, I had this on cassette years ago and it was a Canadian pressing on Capitol and it DID HAVE THE BLACK COLOR COVER! So the re-issue does not have the wrong cover in a manner of speaking. I'll agree that the sound is pretty poor on the Rip Tide re-issue, but I always felt it was a bit thin anyway. Take your cd and have someone in the know (like me:-) do some tricks with it in CoolEdit Pro and SAW or another audio program. Works wonders! Oh, AWESOME album by the way! Cheers! |

Like the second one better, the second album got more hooks than this one but this is a killer AOR music. Salute to Mr. Sherman |

Good cd, but what a terrible remastering job. Listen to the drum sound on "Backdoor Man"... just awful. But the material featured on here is quite solid, especially songs like "Love on the Rox", "Fallen Angel" and the beforementioned "Backdoor Man". |

I'm glad to hear the comments on poor sound above, as I thought it was just my copy (I have the re-issue). But as everyone says, no amount of bad sound could have hidden the fact that these songs are excellent. 'Love on the rox', 'Fallen angel', 'She's got (the devil inside)' and 'Downtown toy' are all faves and killer 80's meodic rockers, but this is one of my top 10 bands of all time and this is where it all began. A marvel of hard rock history. |

Aunque el sonido este hecho una torta, nadie puede discutir los temazos que catapultan este disco como Joya del Hard-Rock Melodico sino mejor vete a escuchar perreo hahaha, Love On The Rox, Fallen Angel, Rip It Up, Victory, Do You Want It, Summerlove, Hunter ... temas que te destrozaran a la primera escucha un album asi es a la que llamo JOYASA un Clasico absoluto. claro que mejor tener el Cruisin' for a Bruisin'. |

Just would like to ask anybody's expertise on this. Was this ever pressed by Capitol or any other company aside from Rip Tide (maybe the original two-tone/black&white cover)? I really hate what Rip Tide had done with this. Really terrible. I would really love to know. |

I have this as a 2on1 with the 'Cruising For A Bruising' album on the Metal Rendezvous label. The front cover is the 'Cruising' album and the inside is the s/t colour cover. Although this is a boot (I think) it sounds/looks really good. |

Great AOR hard rock with killer riffs and melodic hooks,i like all the FATE´s albums, and this one is the best way to start if you want plenty keys and guitars that blow you away, songs like Love on the rox,Fallen Angel,(She´s got)The devil inside,Summerlove will take you to AOR heaven,a "must have" for any AOR melodic rock fan,9/10. |

great songs (1.2.4.6).the rest is bad.i can add that the production is a nigthmare.i recommand to two and one with cruisin for a bruisin in 2001 on metal rendez vous label.on this cd you can select the good songs and the fillers. |
