Fantastische AOR/melodieuze rock! Een echte aanrader.

From: Magnus Date: February 23, 2002 at 17:07
The best FATE album out there..If you like bands like Treat,Da Vinci and Dalton this is the one!! The best cd from Denmark...

From: krokus Date: March 9, 2002 at 7:23
This cd of FATE is increible, after there first album, this one is there best. 22,65$ is not expensive, because i saw the same cd somewhere else for over 35$. If i didnt have this cd, i dont give a shit paying 50$ for it, because its a MELODIC METAL master piece.

From: 9 CHAMPIONS A 1 Date: July 7, 2002 at 9:24
Su disco mas melodico, quizas el mejor, lastima que no contaran entonces con Mattias Eklundh.BUEN HARD/AOR.

From: Rolly Date: September 7, 2002 at 16:46
I used to love this cd back in '88 or so and I can't seem to get any downloads of it. It's a shame, i'm feeling so nostalgic. I remember that the singer had a really great voice, or does he?

From: VLADI-BG Date: December 29, 2002 at 19:18
Fantastic AOR album and great AOR hit 'I Can't Stand Losing You' !!!

From: Scandinavia Date: December 30, 2002 at 11:28
Yeahh the singer Jeff Limbo really had a great voice! American sounding...COOL! Their back catalog is often overshadowed by Scratch 'n' Sniff but the other albums, especially the debut(Why can't I find it here?), really have great songs too...Worth a listen! Love on the rox, I won't stop and Lovers(my fave) were huge radio hits back then...The video for Lovers included Jeff in action with a danish porn model...Really 80's!!! Her name was Trine Michelsen...Bomb-shell blonde!!! Long live R'n'R!

From: Great Dane Date: December 31, 2002 at 7:49
Hey Scandinavia write to this e-mail kimvestergaard@mail.dk I might have an adress where you can get it.

http://www.forceofevil.net/ This will tell you what Hank Sherman is up to now. Personally I cant wait to their release.

From: Great Dane Date: June 12, 2003 at 20:48
.........And Denner/Sherman also joined the band Jack Cracker on their release. Check the details. www.jackcracker.dk Its cool party/hard rock.

From: Great Dane Date: June 30, 2003 at 2:35
Hank Sherman just formed a new band. On www.forceofevil.net you can listen to MP3´s from this awesome lineup. Its NOT like the Fate releases, but damn heavy.

From: Kulvertmannen Date: June 30, 2003 at 12:59
This was rather good as I recall it. Point of no return is a killer track. And Great Dane - I will check out Hank´s new band. Hope it´s good!

From: Kulvertmannen Date: June 30, 2003 at 13:13
I´ve just listened to Force of Evil. Sounds good! No power or nu metal crap. Just solid good old Heavy Metal! Vocals were good to -80´s style. I´ll probably have to buy this album...

From: vandervelde Date: January 29, 2004 at 10:46
AOR classic...this wonderfull full of great melodies album....reminds me very much BAD HABIT but this is IMHO far better...if you like that kind of music check out SHA-BOOM!!!!!!

From: Rycheage Date: March 13, 2004 at 19:22
The opening trio of songs in 'I Won't Stop', 'Hard As A Rock', and the totally brilliant 'Can't Stand Losing You' will leave you breathless. 'Point Of No Return' is full of bombastic keyboards and hi-octane guitar from the ex King Diamond axe king Hank Sherman. 'Hunter' sounds very much like primetime Shy, while 'Summerlove' is a glorious hooky affair with a sublime chorus.

From: TIM (2) Date: June 1, 2004 at 11:54
AND what about 'Limbo a Go Go'? What a chorus... Apparently this is being re-issued very soon and if you love Dalton/Da Vinci/Treat this is essential. Shame about the production though...

From: Rycheage Date: June 5, 2004 at 0:00
Sorry TIM (2). I left that one out. It is an awesome slice of AOR.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 13, 2004 at 0:50
Who would think that a guitarist from Mercyful Fate would end up with an album full of classic aor tunes like this one. 'I Won't Stop', 'I Can't Stand Losing You', and 'Point Of No Return' are stunning. Can't wait for the re-issue to come out. 9/10

From: mushmouth Date: June 17, 2004 at 13:40
well being a big MF fan I was originally dissapointed in this (@ the time I thought) limp wristed release... but if you dont compare it 2 Mercyful Fate and listen 2 it in its own light then these catchy, hook laiden songs will grow on u like algae... if u like AOR then highly recommended... if u like things heavier then maybe not... a word of warning these songs WILL get stuck in your head, b warned... I assume it was not very heavy as Hank did not do much of the writting

Finally re-issued with 2 bonus tracks and a decent re-mastering job, giving this alot better sound than the original. A Must have if you're a Scandie rock fan - up thre with the best of them.

From: Rocker76 Date: July 14, 2004 at 16:11
If you're into the classic 80s AOR bands then this Fate album is certainly recommended. 'Hunter' is a perfect AOR monster (best song on the album IMO) and 'Hard as a Rock,' 'I Can't Stand Losing You,' and 'Point of No Return' are very solid offerings. The entire album is consistently catchy and well-played until the very end. I don't think the last track 'Do It' had any place on this record at all. Otherwise, a certain hit for fans of Shy, Dalton, or Treat (but not as good IMO). Rating 8/10

From: the oz man Date: July 25, 2004 at 14:32
go get the official reissue, with 2 killer trax, saw at deep impact live with per johanson who sang on the scratch n sniff cd, fantastic show n hope there is more of fate live shows!!!!!!!

From: Wotty Date: August 12, 2004 at 17:48
Just been re-released on CD in the U.K.with two bonus tracks. This 80s classic still holds up brilliantly.HARD/AOR to put a massive smile on your face, and dream of poodle-perms and spandex.Anyway,DO IT DO IT DO IT THERE REALLY AINT NOTHIN TO IT.....

From: Federico-italy Date: August 17, 2004 at 17:41
Wow, this is a great cd. I have bought the reissue, with two new tracks, they are wonderful. Hardcore romance is a fantastic groovy hard rock song and Memories of you is simply the best ballad I've heard this year. If the new release will be as good as these 2 new tracks, they gonna be on top of my personal chart. Gems like Summerlove and losing you makes me spin this cd over and over again 10/10

From: Wotty Date: August 17, 2004 at 17:50
Federico-italy.You did yourself a favour, and got yourself a classic.Big up to you my man...

From: Geoff Date: August 18, 2004 at 2:28
Man, I want that re-issue! I need the extra tracks! From the band that could do no wrong, they did just that - no wrong. This album is killer from start to finish. My favourites are 'Can't stand losing you', 'Get up and go' and the awesome 'Limbo a Go Go'. One of the premier melodic hard rock acts of all time. Brilliant stuff, brilliant album!

From: Federico-italy Date: August 18, 2004 at 6:33
I quote Wotty and Geoff and I wait impatiently for a new album, or at least for the re-issues (with bonus track) of Scratch and sniff and Cruising for a bruising(actually I've them on lp). Does anybody saw them live in Munich, at the Deep impact?

From: ANDEAN Date: August 18, 2004 at 6:55
yes I saw Fate live in Munich, they were fabulous, I came all the way from Australia to see Fate, I spoke to Per, what a fabulous singer he still is after all these years! Peter Steincke still has the funky moves on bass!! Fate come to Australia!

From: KAN FROM TAIWAN Date: December 2, 2004 at 1:51
INCREDIBLE BAND! FROM THE 1ST SONG AND YOU WON'T FORGET THIS AWESOME BAND!I THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN TREAT! BUY IT YOU WON'T REGRET!

From: Kip Date: December 29, 2004 at 23:40
I never heard the original, but I just picked up a copy of the reissue and the production is flawless. Reminds me of Dalton's Injection quite a bit. Awesome melodies throughout, I think I'm gonan like this one a lot.

From: MAURICIO Date: December 30, 2004 at 20:06

From: Bernardito Date: January 2, 2005 at 20:36
this is one of the best 5 hard rock scandinavian discs!, the others:europe out of this world, treat dreamhunter, tnt intuition, and dalton 99/100

From: Muddley Date: March 7, 2005 at 13:57
Check out www.forceofevil.net and listen to what Hank Sherman and Bjarne Holm sounds like nowadays. But be aware that its nothing like Fate. Its much heavier.

From: StarCity Rocker Date: March 9, 2005 at 9:02
Even though Fate aren't quite as good as Europe, Dalton, or Treat, this album is sure to please fans of any of those bands. '(I Can't Stand' Losing You' has Europe's '85 sound all over it, and 'Hunter' is an awesome track, my favorite of the album. The only fault I had was the last track ('Do It') which I thought was very lame and completely inappropriate. Back in the day I called this stuff '80s Keyboard Metal' and these guys are good at it. Definitely recommended.

From: orietto Date: March 9, 2005 at 18:14
eehh i was very lucky to know the band just after they released this one....that's IMO the BEST scandi (oops denmark included) work ever done 10+

A COOL RERELEASE FROM MTM.CLASSIC SCANDI SOUND,CLEAR PRODUCTION,NICE VOCALS,MANY KEYS AND SOME VERY GOOD SONGS HERE.'I CAN'T STAND LOSING YOU' IS A KILLER SONG,BUT I THINK THAT CAN'T BEAT THE RELEASES FROM U.S.A. AND CANADA.

From: Erik Date: December 8, 2005 at 10:46
Another classic i received yesterday. MTM did a great job on the remastering of this beauty. Hardcore Memories is a killer melodic rock bonus track. Made in the best Fate tradition. Memories of you is an ok ballad. Killer album. Man those Scandis have produced some sinsational bands over the years. Great band.

From: XabDeth Date: December 24, 2006 at 23:46
CLASICOS DE LOS 80S, SI AMAS LA MUSICA HARD AOR DE ESA EPOCA, ELLOS TE VAN A GUSTAR, disco escuchable de principio a fin, no tienen perdida, que musicos, que melodias, perfectos....

From: sanxdowntherainbow Date: February 14, 2007 at 19:04
Great CD,a mix of hair/AOR, in the vein of FM,Danger danger,Da Vinci, and other scandinavian bands. The singer sounds like if he's a teenager, but the superb polished guitar work, and the killer keyboards take this album into another world!. 9/10

From: BIG-TIME Date: March 30, 2007 at 13:53
To be honest this is better than Treat, Dalton, and those type of band's I wont stop just keep's going round and round in my head ARGHHHH "I wont stop I wont stop this time" great CD give it a try even if your not into scandi rock (like me) DAMN FUN...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: Magnus Date: March 31, 2007 at 21:00
Well, along with Skagarack - "Hungry for a game" this is the best scandi AOR cd from Denmark as far as I know.. :-)Classic stuff if you like the Swedish acts Europe,Glory and Treat. Bad Habit and Alien..Scandi AOR rules! :-)

From: sanxdowntherainbow Date: April 2, 2007 at 19:53
oh hell yeah BIG-TIME! Fate is way better than Treat and Dalton, but IMO it's not the best scandi AOR band, That title goes to ALIEN.

From: erik Date: April 3, 2007 at 4:27
One hell of a cd indeed. But its not about better or worse. To name a few Skagarack, Treat, Dalton, Talk of the Town, Da Vinci, Great King Rat, Fate, Glory, Europe, (early) TNT, TBell, Renegade, Aces High, Rat Bat blue,R.A.W., Crystal Blue, Snakes in Paradise etc are all responsable for one or more fantastic scandi aor/melodic rock albums. Scandi rules indeed

From: metal_tc Date: June 13, 2007 at 11:34
"Hard As A Rock" is prolly my favorite song of all time!!!! This cd smokes! I love it!

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: October 31, 2007 at 13:21

From: ashen_light Date: July 11, 2008 at 9:45
Great stuff!! I would put it right inbetween DALTON's releases and DA VINCI's BACK IN BUSINESS with RAW SILK(Greek AOR) and maybe even early SKAGARACK. Keyboard-driven AOR with great vocals , ultra-catchy tunes and solid backgroud choruses-one of the best from Scandinavia. If you got introduced to this band by starting with their later masterpiece "Scrath'n sniff", keep in mind that "MOA" is not guitar-powered melodic Rock-it is AWESOME Keyboard driven Scandi AOR.Grab it-it is not that expansive!! I think this album by FATE is way much better then DA VINCI's -Back in Business; it has better lyric and the songs are not whimpy and cheezy; also this one has a bit heavier sound because of the distinct and deep guitar sound and a thick base-line. I think this album is closer to Dalton's Race is On and RAW Silk.

From: NaughtyDevil Date: May 25, 2009 at 21:53
This Is A Really Amazing CD, Every Track Is Outstanding. The Reissue Has A Bonus Track Called "Memories Of You", That Song Is One Of The Best Ballads I Ever Heard. Pick This Up If You Don't Own It, It's Well Worth The Money.

great work

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 21, 2011 at 20:50
Really a pleasant release in here!!!..catchy and melodic songs all over..one of the band's finest moments i guess...favorites?..yes,some actually..."I Won't Stop"(nice song and nice lyrics),"I Can't Stand Losing You","Hunter","Summerlove" & "Limbo A Go Go"..the 2 bonus tracks of the re-edition "Hardcore Romance"(this one rocks) & "Memories Of You"(splendid ballad)give you that extra "need" of more!!!...92/100

From: Square Date: February 28, 2011 at 10:25
Great album. I would of said they we're Canadian cos the vocalist reminds me of Johnnie Dee from Honeymoon Suite. The song I Can't Stand Losing You has a great keyboard sound and is possibly the best song on the album. Recommended!

From: 123charpenay Date: November 18, 2011 at 17:28
their best album.hight class scandi hard f m.only hits.others fate s records are average but here they made the best work they never made.the record of their lives.impossible to serious scandi aor fans not have in their collection.

From: 123charpenay Date: January 29, 2014 at 12:52
a little add to my last comment.on the reissue of mtm there is two bonus tracks who have absoluty no interest.very average songs and very different to the rest of the record (fabulous scandi a o r).track 10 is a big big filler.

From: hair metal again Date: May 13, 2014 at 5:58
fantastic release by FATE, a band that should be bigger in the European scene!their music is commercial, flawless ,energetic and the hooks are always there !the sound is well balanced and the choruses big and the whole vibe extremely feelgood!all the songs are great and it makes me wonder why this great band didnt had the success it deserved!essential of course

From: Delbert Date: May 13, 2014 at 12:12
Yep....I totally agree with the above favorable comments on this magnificent release. This is a brilliant melodic hard rock/AOR gem very much in the vein of TREAT, DALTON, DAVINCI and SKAGARACK in their style. Includes the popular track "Summerlove". This is another ESSENTIAL for every melodic rock collection!!!!

From: 123charpenay Date: March 12, 2021 at 14:51
for being perfectly honest i can add that tracks 2.3.4.5 and 6 are exceptional.tracks 1.7.8 and 9 are decent.tracks 10.11 and 12 are a nightmare.some times the singer sing like a duck.and the production is a little strange.on several songs the sound of the drums is horrible,i ve to feeling to hear the noise of the lid of a trash.!!!!!!!!!

From: DonDef88PL Date: April 15, 2023 at 5:38
I have been Melodic Rock fan for many years and when I listened to "I can't stand losing you" for the first time few months ago I was totally suprised that I had not known this band before. Good stuff although I would classify it more as Hard Rock than AOR. Nevertheless recommended one.
