Definately a good CD. You see where #2 Slam comes from. Some great music on this. Stand out tracks: 1,3,4,8,11. Solid album

Criiminally underrated.Should have made it but silly American record companies did not know how to market a mixed-race band. Very, Very consistent and bags of talent. Buy now, people.

Brilliant album. Should have broken the band world wide. Best tracks are Ritual and Resurrect. Better than most of the big acts of it's time....Bon Jovi stole their thunder.

I saw them live in 1988 in Munich (Theaterfabrik/ Unterföhring) and as support act for Bon Jovi in 12/1989. One of the best concerts I ever saw, one of the best albums I've ever heard!

Top release and one of my alltime fave raves. Agreed with Harvey about being criminally underated, how this cd was not huge,is a crime in my opinion.

EXCELLENT!! Steve T hit it right on the head. Bon Jovi (no offense) did steal their thunder. Their debut had the same producer (Bruce Fairbairn). They were once described as "Prince with Balls". A perfect description!!

Simply the best funk/rock/aor CD of all time.Production fantastically crisp..every track a killer....simply oozes class. Caught them live 4 times...the best live act I ever did see...and Ive seen a few from mid 70's onward! The perfect fusion of POP/ROCK/DANCE?/FUNK ever Buy or Die

Not bad, but highly overrated. They can't touch the real masters of funky hardrock 'MOTHER's FINEST ' !!!!!!!

One of the most interresting bands of that time. Bon Jovi gone funky was the most usual definition but it was a short cut. DRN was more than that. I'm a very big big fan of this band but I must be honest and admit that, though they issued 3 absolutely excellent releases, they did not succeed in leaving there trace as an influencing band, as an undisputed leader of fusion rock. Wish they had continue their way like King's X had, not caring that much about not being big sellers.

I cannot listen to this ugly funk-alicious mess, but I'll be f*cked if 'Tamin' the wild nights' and 'Halfway round the world' are not awesome ballads. Man I love those songs, hate the rest.

I saw these guys open for UB40 and I hung out with them after back in South Florida. Solid, real solid. I agree that US radio had no clue what to do with it, but everyone in the know, knew about them. They had an outrageous/unique image and an innovative sound that was unfortunately way ahead of their time. The real issue might be that the follow up releases did have the hooks that this record has. If I had to label this I think it mixed Prince with David Lee Roth. These guys tore it up live!

Love these guys. They have a double live album that came out in 1997 called LIVE AT LAST HALFWAY AROUND THE WORLD 33 cracking songs, although i found it very hard to come by, if you do happen to come across it snap it up guys, good hunting.

PopAOR-Funk-Rock del que me agrada a medias la verdad, producción excelente. "Ritual" ó mejor aún en "I'm So Sorry", "Tamin' the Wild Nights" (que temazo! se sale completamente), la poderosa "Resurrect" y la maravillosa "Halfway Around the World" mis favoritas. Buen final en "Tatiana" tambien. 8/10

One of the handful of bands...and I mean handful of bands.... that successfully "got" the rock funk groove thang! Awesome album which generally floats on a genre that I consider to be a sea of poison. Rock funk / funk rock for me just doesn't work but these guys made it seem effortless. Great grooves, songs and feel which still stand strong and sound fresh today after many others who tried (and failed) to fuse the genres sound dated and contrived. Alas by the third album - Heat the magic had started to fade but at least we have this and the equally engaging Slam.

unique debut release by dan and his network back in the late 80s.amazing musicianship,good songwriting,plenty of keys and much talent by a capable band.listen to "tamin the wild nights","i m so sorry" and to the marvelous "halfway around the world".still sounds so fresh

Cool album...perhaps not the best of the debuts ever but quite enjoyable,that's the word,enjoyable...a lot of Prince & The Revolution influence in most of the songs..."Get To You","Ritual"(catchy),"Forgot To Make Her Mine","Resurrect"(rocks!)& "Halfway Around The World"(nice AORish song)are my faves...83/100
