| It's amazing what a difference a few years makes. I reviewed Innuendo's "Three" about 2 and a half years ago. I really wasn't enamored with it all that much, so it was with some trepidation that I sat down to listen to their newest album Raining in Mexico, a collection of acoustic songs. Well, either time has mellowed me out, or they've improved a whole heck of a lot! The acoustic material suits them quite well. The songs are definitely acoustically-oriented, but not in the minimalist sense. Plenty of strings, piano, lush arrangements, yet you still get the feeling that they're sitting around jamming. The production and mix are quite good as well. I'm hearing more of a use of backing vocals than I remember on the last album, but I still think they could go farther in this regard, take it "over the top" so to speak. The songs are at their best when the vocal harmonies are being piled on. Like the last album, at seventeen tracks you are definitely getting your money's worth. No skimping on the musical content here. If I had to make a musical comparison, I'd compare a lot of the material here to the Eagles on their live acoustic Hell Freezes Over. If you dig that you'll dig this. Especially of note is Hearts and Flowers, a wonderful tune. This album has that "repeat playability" factor going, which the last one did not not for me. I've listened to this one a couple of times, and it's not getting stale. Great job, guys! Rating: 84/100

| Highlights include the upbeat title track, which has a real summertime vibe and 'The Call', which has an interesting lyrical narrative and provides an alternative subject matter to the predominant love and romance theme. Elsewhere, the pick of the bunch of the older tracks are the poignant 'Hearts and Flowers' and the impressive 'You’re Not Alone'. Overall, 'Raining In Mexico' is a pleasant enough listen and fans of acoustic Westcoast music will no doubt look forward to hearing it.
