That is a damn cool album cover. haha!

From: The Fizzy One Date: April 26, 2003 at 23:34
Worth it just for 'Chicks On Display.' The whistling and catcalling makes this song a hoot! Charlie Huhn, you'll recall, sang on a couple Ted Nugent albums. Sounds much smoother here.

From: crathopper Date: August 19, 2003 at 22:11
There are actually 10 songs on this disc. Song # 8 is Some Women Ain't Easy. New disc with the 'Don't Get Mad' lineup due out in September.

I like the cover of 'I'm Down'. Decent enough album...are others from them better?

IMHO I like 'em all, but my favorites are definitely 'Temples' and 'Culture', but like I said, I like 'em all. This one actually being my least favorite.

From: Metal Pete Date: February 27, 2004 at 13:24
Ok. Yeah, I can see the potential on this, but in general I don't find myself going back to it much. Think I will try out 'Culture'.

From: Uusiolli Date: August 5, 2004 at 21:35
Could have been a classic, but Charlie Huhn's voice gets annoying after awhile 7,5/10

This is one of my top 10 fave bands of all time and I don't even have this CD. Can someone get me a CDR (We'll trade) or even a nice cheap original, or trade. My email address is g.a.wols@ponl.com. Thanks! I'd love to hear it!

From: Big Papa K Date: October 18, 2004 at 17:07
The best thing about this album is probably the cover. Pretty forgetable hard rock outside of the awesome 'On The Run'. They would get better once they ditched Charlie Huhn. 4/10

From: naz Date: December 29, 2004 at 7:01
big papa charlie huhn made the band and for most part charlie is a good friend of mine fernando done well also but he is no charlie charlie found more fame with foghat check out the new foghat album them you'll have second thoughts about charlie huhn

Making a great album, for Victory, I suspect, is like making a cheese sandwich for me. Basic. Natural. It sounds as though it was so simple for them. And this is a great debut. Simple riff driven hard rock that many bands have faltered on is made easy by Victory. They still find the big hooks, great choruses and cool lyrics also. The 2 ballads are awesome too and all in all I don't have a bad word to say about it. Another great album from Victory.

My least favorite from this fine group but a very good album! I haven't heard the new (fuel to the fire) yet so I can't comment on it. Hopefully one of our fine folks can give us the scoop on it. If you are new to VICTORY may I suggest the entire collection. Yeah it's all that good in my opinion. I own all of em except the new one(fuel to the fire) and they are a must for your collection.

From: Metal T Date: May 29, 2007 at 7:30
Nothing really too special here.Decent but only better things would come for this excellent band. The coverart was exceptional however,a chick doing the victory sign with her legs------very nice! -

From: metalhead4life Date: June 29, 2008 at 23:39
Eh. Haven't listened to it in a long while and there's a reason: nothing too special here that I recall. Middle of the road mid 80's hard rock; kind of bland. If you're looking for a CD by this band and want something that's melodic and powerful with good high pitched vocals then stay away from this one and get "Culture Killed The Native". Has a new/different singer who is better IMO as well as the songwriting. The follow up to this with the same vocalist (Charlie Huhn) is better and worth a listen but "Culture Killed The Native" is the one to get.

Yesterrock in Germany finally re-issued this gem.

From: hair metal again Date: October 24, 2015 at 1:23
superb debut by the great VICTORY and for me this is one of the best releases of the German scene cause they were one of the very few that didnt have metal influences and were straight hard rockers from the start! This is probably Huhn s best ever vocal work and the sound, the guitars, the songwriting and the whole vibe are truly outstanding!all the songs are excellent and this is one hell of a hard rock album!essential
