Above average but not his best work. Catchy tunes, but sounds too typical of the '80's. Still, it's Gary Moore and it's enjoyable.

From: Dragonfly Date: December 15, 2001 at 10:18
I like this release alot. Maybe Glenn Hughes is my favorite singer but Glenn with Gary is a lethal combo. Great great songs. A must have.

From: RL Date: March 28, 2002 at 12:48
This is one fine record. If you love incredible guitar work, check out this guy-what versatility! Forget VanHalen, Gary Moore smokes him in a heartbeat. Good singer too!

From: Kim Date: June 14, 2002 at 15:19
Ehhhhhhhh RL. Good singer.??? On a scale 1-10. I`d give him 5. As a guitar player, ID give him 9. This is still a good rock`n Roll album, but from here it was all downhill for Gary Moore. Still got the Blues sadly killed the rocker in him.

From: Richard H. Date: October 31, 2002 at 23:04
He's not such a bad singer ,check out "Empty Rooms" and "Out In The Fields" and you'll see he can carry a tune quite well.Gary Moore is however more well known for his guitar playing and i strongly believe that his focus on the blues now will only add fuel to his already amazing chops.I'm pretty sure if he wants to,he'll unleash skill like never before in rock.

Gary Moore + grandes colaboraciones = UN DISCO ACOJONANTE!! 9/10

From: Scandinavia Date: June 27, 2003 at 16:36
Classic album! Not one bad track according to me...The song "Out in the..." is an absolute masterpiece...Anybody heard the version by Primal Fear? Great! Other highlights: "Run..." & "Once in a lifetime"...I've seldomly heard Gary play such melodic stuff...Can you believe it, this guy actually knew how play "real" music once...Hmmm...."Still got the flu" sadly overshadowed most of his excellent 80s albums...

From: Harvey Date: June 29, 2003 at 12:16
Truly terrible stuff. Hard to believe this man used to be in Thin Lizzy!!

From: RR-Finland Date: September 1, 2003 at 16:01
Hey, Harvey: go get some donuts! Out In The Fields, best Gary song ever! Phil Lynott was/is a killer. Very not bluesy Moore! Enjoy!

From: Coldpepper Date: February 29, 2004 at 4:24
People! Get the hell off Gary's venture into blues. My ears tell me his blues chops sound incredibly like his G-Force AND his Thin Lizzy work! You fuckin' crybaby's got nothin' better to do than bitch about GM doin' blues while you celebrate this shitty cd! His blues music "sadly overshadowed most of his excellent 80s albums" because it is TRULY excellent! (snif,"Gary went blues." snif) Boo-fucking-hoo! "RFC" is bad cuz it doesn't sound like Thin Lizzy or Deep Purple. Take that!

military man.uno de los mejores temas que andan por ahi

From: Big Papa K Date: June 14, 2004 at 2:19
As with most of Moore's albums, some great tracks ("Out In The Fields", "Run for Cover", and "Military Man") are ruined by mostly generic songs the rest of the way. One problem is the pointless remake of "Empty Room", a good song by why have it on this album when it was on the last one. 5/10

From: Emi Date: August 3, 2004 at 18:05
militare man, dios que trallazo

From: Joan Date: February 18, 2005 at 14:20
Otros de los discos fuertes de Gary Moore. Mis fav.: Out in the fields, Military man, All messed up y sobretodo, la que es una de las mejores baladas hard rock de todos los tiempos: EMPTY ROOMS.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 31, 2005 at 22:42
Good Hard Rock album with AOR bits, Muy Buen album, gracias a Endika por recomendarmelo al igual que el Wild Frontier, un album grande por donde se le coja y pensar que es Gary Moore jamas pense que tuviera albums como este, cortes buenos en todo el album, y claro escojo mi favorita y es Listen to Your Heartbeat el corte AOR del disco la mejor, ahhh Big Papa no que que decirle alza albums mediocres y mata albums buenos como este, bueno pero es su gusto y nadie se lo cambia.

Just have a look at the musianship. What a perfect line-up this band had! All the big British hardrockers are here...from Gary to Glenn and from Philip(R.I.P)to Bob,all were excellent! I've never been a THIN LIZZY fan and especially Lynnot's voice, but when he share the vox with Gary he is really great. The album is full of straight brit hardrock from the burner opening track to the mega-ballad "empty rooms". Buy it and you won't regret it. Only some steps away from "perfect strangers" and "1987"

Well said that man. Another strong release with some excellent material, which borders on AOR territory in places, especially on the re-recorded version of 'Empty Rooms' & 'Listen To Your Heartbeat'. 'Military Man' with Phil Lynott is a brilliant track aswell as the Glenn Hughes sung tracks which are also highlights. The track 'Out Of My System' is missing from the above incorrect running order. Recommended

Infartante inicio(en mi disco)"Run for Cover",con exorcizantes teclados,"Military Man","Reach for the Sky" y la mejor version "Empty Rooms", etc etc,etc (ojo blues:2%).Lo coloco entre mis favoritos discos 80`s. 9.9/10

From: rbrigade Date: November 21, 2008 at 10:41
Can't understand why people have to take sides...Gary was great doing hard rock and Gary is equally great doing the blues. Still got the blues is a great album and I enjoy all his late works, but I'm not really a blues lover so I enjoy his early 80's works more. It's equally foolish to disregard his blues albums as it is to say Run for cover is awful...Just listen to Out in the fileds, if you don't like this song then you can cut your ears off cause they are of no use to you...

From: Remastered Reason Date: November 21, 2008 at 21:07
Have to agree with the comment above as anyone with their listening ears would. Moore was & is a great guitarist no matter what style he chooses to do. Matter of fact, i wouldn't mind one bit if he decided to do a jazz fusion guitar instrumental album. That would kick butt too.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 8, 2017 at 17:18
Lovely album that combines HR with some Melodic AORistic moments too...tracks 1,2,4(beautiful classic),5,7(AOR) & 9( ) are the ones for me...88/100
