.38 Special are just starting to hit their stride here. The next few albums would hit the mark perfect. three signature songs and the album tracks are not bad either. love this album. still holding on to the Southern Roots hard here with the AOR sound being secondary |

Breakthrough release for .38 Special. 'Tour De Force' is their masterpiece, however. |

Man these guys were so ahead of their time with this release. Just that crystal-clear distortion on guitar and smooth vox.....who sounded like this in '80??!! Just great stuff all around, 'Wild Eyed Southern Boys' being my favorite song. |

I really like the album and the cover art is fun. Favorite 38 special song of all time "hold on loosely". But like all the album i have heard from them. |

As with the previous release a very strong album, choc full of great Aor tinged southern rock. Their first major league album, and one that still stands out in their excellent back catologue. |

A huge jump commercially & a great sounding AOR southern album overall. "Hold On Loosly" & "Fantasy Girl" are the gems here while the band also made the rollicking concert favorite "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys". |

Yeah guys!!!..a good release that contains the first real major hit of the band in "Hold On Loosely" then some other good shots are "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys" & "Fantasy Girl"...they were starting to flirt with AOR really seriously...83/100 |

I personally think the southern rock inspired tracks like "First time around", "Honky tonk dancer" & "Bring it on" are very good. However the more AOR numbers like "Hold on loosely" & "Fantasy girls" sound limp & let the album down. |
