This is a good rock album and is recomended to any hard rock music collector.Three favorite songs are Go,Hard On Me and Voice of America.

The darkest of the three Asia albums with Wetton. Sorry, but chilly cold war nuclear visions ('Countdown to Zero' and 'After the War') can't offset the sprightly optimism of 'Love Now Till Eternity'. This album tanked big time and it's almost as if the band saw it coming with tracks like 'Rock & Roll Dream' and 'Too Late'. Having said that, the huge wall of production is still there and tracks like 'Voice of America', 'Go' and 'Wishing' are among Asia's finest ever.

Another great album, I can find 5 tracks that you would agree that are great, tracks 1.2.3.5 annd 7. ''Rock N Roll Dream'' is one of the best songs of the 80s. Comparing to Alpha, I can say that Astra is more straight forward AOR, the progressive flavour of the previous album is not there anymore.

Super CD,ein Kracher nach dem anderen,Melodic-Herz,was willst du mehr ? 9\10

God... I can remember counting down the days til this one was released. Loved their first 2 and couldn't wait to hear 'the new one'. When I did first hear it I was kind of disappointed. But with each listen I liked it more and more. Its got a whole 'nother vibe than the first 2. Its less guitar driven and more keyboard heavy (though Mandy Meyer does impress when he's allowed to shine). The songs still hold up well today (except for the 2 'Cold War' inspired tracks). Overall, its a great disc. A

My fave ASIA album...The guitars are much harder than on previous efforts which suits the band fine in my opinion. This borders to hardrock. Highlights: 'Go', 'Voice Of America', 'R'n'R Dream' & 'After The War'...

From: kesseldorz Date: January 18, 2004 at 13:30
the weakest of the three albums, 'voice of america' is my favourite on this one, very good but not great 8/10

From: Allan Jones Date: May 29, 2004 at 21:49
this album is the pure 80 hard rock. those songs are strong and powerfull, 'Go' is a classic rock, 'Too late' is very good too... Mandy Meyer is a excellent guitar player and the solo of 'suspicious' is very beautiful.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 23, 2004 at 2:23
My favorite AOR release. The guitars are more toward hard rock on this one such as on the great 'Go'. Also 'Voice Of America' is my favorite ballad by the band. Just incredible. 8/10

From: Wotty Date: August 30, 2004 at 18:12
Album number 3,the last with Wetton is a decent rock album highlighting Meyer on guitar. It contains some great tracks such as GO,WISHING and SUSPICION but I thought the production was a bit flat compared to the previous albums....

From: JoseViruete Date: January 16, 2005 at 19:49
Love 'Whishing', 'Go', 'Voice of America' 'Rock'n'roll Dream'... A very good album

From: Dreamaholic Date: May 16, 2005 at 5:15
I snapped it up on cassette when it first came out, only to find disappointment, though I still have it. Not a bad album, but suffers greatly from the loss of Howe's guitars and songwriting. Though this record went gold, it was considered a commercial failure compared to the first two. I stopped buying Asia albums after this. Recommended for die-hard Asia fans and AOR collectors.

From: rene Date: February 14, 2006 at 16:52
Joseviruete, i agree. This is a very very good album. pure aor. I dont understand why i always have to read that its a bad album. Its not, its good and good for any fan of hard rock, aor and/or ASIA.

From: Footstomp Date: January 19, 2009 at 8:56
This album has a few really good songs. My personal favorite is 'Rock and Roll Dream'. I also like 'Go', ' Voice of America' and ' Hard on Me'. The rest is good, but nothing out of the ordinary.

One of the best ASIA ALBUMS for me,Too late,Voice of america and Rock and roll dream are a wet dream in melodic rock,AOR,many time ago i used to hear, until now, what a waste of time!,

After 2 enormous albums came this third one "Astra" which was into a more mainstream AOR/Prog and obviously "updated" of the time being(in 1985 AOR was taken the world by storm so they added this sound profoundly on this thrid album but at the same time keeping the Prog feel attached too)...my faves are "Hard On Me","Wishing"(nice),"Countdown To Zero","Suspicion" & "After The War"...recommended...88/100

tremendo album el mas duro de asia con thrall alas guitarras muy bueno 9/10

From: Dx7 Date: October 30, 2021 at 7:55
Finally free from that ball and chain Steve Howe, Asia compose their future vision of 1985: between dreams and nightmares, between wars, devastation and sweetening. The public and the critics destroyed them, the fans of the pomp appreciate
