The music sounds great but I can't stand the new singers voice .It just doesn't fit the sound of Asia that we all know and love

The singer is perfect Mike G, John Wetton was a ridddddddddddiculous singer for ASIA, he had no level to sing in a band like that. This album is very good, for my the most elaborated CD from ASIA with a very good vocalist: for contact:haremscarem@eresmas .com

An awesome album! Payne's vocals are great, yet gets better and better each album after Aqua. Al Pitrelli kicks ass on it! For a bonus, Steve Howe adds his distinctive sound as well. LOVE this album!!!

With the croaky John Payne on board, Asia was reinvented for the 90s. Only after you accept the fact that Payne is not trying to be Wetton and that this is essentially a new band, does Asia in this incarnation become enjoyable. This is a fantastic album, well textured and solidly written.

Adding to what has been said, this is Asia for the 90's - new singer, updated sound. Geoff Downes sounds awesome and although the keyboards are the main force, they don't sound cheesy... John Payne was a good choice to replace the too AOR-oriented Wetton.

Well guys, I think it's time to be fair: John Payne is a fantastic singer. His voice is so versatile and rich,he gives more value to each song. For instance, I listened Payne singing John Wetton's 'the Heat Goes On'' and I loved this song even more! I think Payne changed the status of Asia, meaning that from a typical AOR rock band, Asia bacame a blend of different musical styles, all mixed to bring us this wonderful music that will stay forever in our hearts and minds. Aqua is a superb album.

Got this when it first came out without realizing John Wetton was no longer in the band. Boy, was I pissed when I opened it up only to see John Payne listed as the singer. However, this cd won me over after a few listens. It has some really good songs, and Payne does an outstanding job on the vocals.

All I can say is the closing instrumental portion of 'A Far Cry' is the most powerful, epic piece of music I've ever heard. And I like both Wetton's and Payne's voices. They're just different.

I dusted off this forgotten classic and gave it another listen. I forgot what a solid piece of music this album is. Asia continue as purveyors of classic AOR. Can anybody else here the pop metal hints in 'Heaven on Earth'??? Sounds almost like a power ballad at times. All in all, a great AOR effort from one of the great AOR bands.

'Who Will Stop the Rain' and 'Someday' and the two songs that really stand out for me. By no means their best, but certainly not as bad as what was to follow. Oh, and I quite liked John payne's voice.

Howe returns but fortunately they put him on acoustic guitar and mandolin. In this album Asia move almost in territories dear to Magnum and the tracklist is a sequence of auditory pleasures keyboardesque
