Good songs and better than average.

From: Gary Boole Date: July 22, 2001 at 20:48
This album was basically a Myles Goodwyn solo project that he released under the April Wine name. Himself and Brian Greenway are the only April Wine members to play on it. Quite a commerical sounding pop/rock album. They have much better albums than this one.

From: José Carlos Date: February 26, 2002 at 7:18

From: Kat Date: May 21, 2002 at 18:56
Great 80's pop. Sounds like early Bon Jovi. Beg for your Love and Wanted Dead or Alive (A song Arcangel did) are the highlights.

From: Gar Date: August 31, 2002 at 3:27
Slightly better than "Animal Grace". They used some outside writers on this one. "Rock Myself to Sleep" was used in the movie FRIGHT NIGHT. Has some decent commercial songs.

From: Metalhead16 Date: December 6, 2003 at 12:42
Ok, here is where April Wine really turned into a so-called "POP" band. Too many keyboards, too many weak songs. The only songs I really enjoy are "Rock Myself To Sleep", "Wanted Dead Or Alive" and "Beg For Your Love". The rest? well......I wish I could remove them from the original CD and have a 3 track E.P. left.

From: Metal Pete Date: March 24, 2004 at 18:57
What Gar said. Decent enough when you want some AW that you never hear on radio, but again you miss a more angry guitar sound. Personal fave on here is "Anejo".

From: Rob Babcock Date: May 10, 2004 at 22:51
Sure, this one is fairly poppy, but it's still probably my favorite April Wine disc. The songs are very good. I had the good fortune to see April Wine twice, and when they played the songs from "Walking Through Fire" I initially didn't recognize them; they definately are remade as hard rockers when played live. I think the songs come into their own given this treatment. All in all I really love the CD.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 12, 2004 at 23:00
As mentioned, pretty much a Myles Goodwyn solo album. A lot lighter than other April Wine releases, but still some good tracks. I believe most of the songs were contributed by outside writers, such as the Starship song Rock Myself To Sleep. 6/10

From: runha Date: August 20, 2005 at 4:17
a very good cd from AW, yes a bit more radio friendly perhaps, but who cares as long as they sound as good as on this one....

From: rene Date: September 12, 2005 at 14:35
One of my fave APRIL WINE songs is ROCK MYSELF A SLEEP. Cool video clip too. Great album for any AW or hard rock fans.

From: rene Date: December 18, 2005 at 15:10
And dont forget, this is a buy or die release. Listen to WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE or WAIT ANY MORE and you will get hardrock crazy and fly back to the glory 80s.

From: Remastered Reason Date: January 12, 2006 at 12:37
While this is not their best cd, the band certainly had plenty to offer here on "Walking Through Fire". "Rock Myself To Sleep" is infectious with it's redundancy, which is why it works. "Love Has Remembered Me" is a classic ballad...enough said. "Wanted Dead Or Alive", "Anejo" & "Open Soul Surgery" are indeed rockers that make me keep coming back for more. Lastly, "You Don't Have To Act That Way" is a playful ballad that has a great vibe to it. This cd in general is quite good & warrants repeate

From: rene Date: January 16, 2006 at 16:13
I forgot to tell you that WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE is a cover song. First it was on the ARCANGEL album back in 83.

From: ROBERT Date: February 13, 2006 at 12:56
¿q opinais?

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 5, 2007 at 15:48

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: April 5, 2007 at 15:59
... es como una combinacion de bandas legendarias en este estilo como Beau Geste, Van Zant o 38 Special, me pregunto a que amante de AOR no les gusta esas bandas? aquellos que saben de calidad saben de lo que hablo en cortes Love Has Remembered Me, Wanted Dead or Alive, Rock Myself to Sleep(desde el OST de Fright Night), Hold On, Añejo, Wait Any More un album bien completo y por supuesto imperdible en tu coleccion 9/10.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 8, 2007 at 11:37

From: Carlos A. Date: April 8, 2007 at 12:50

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 9, 2007 at 21:45

From: Animal! Date: January 22, 2011 at 1:07
song for song,in my opinion, their best. 1,4, and 6 are the best.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 15, 2012 at 17:46
As i wrote way back in 2007(spanish written comment)...this album is a very good one with great songs such as "Wanted Dead Or Alive"(AOR)& the catchy "Rock Myself To Sleep"....80/100

From: hair metal again Date: October 23, 2012 at 10:37
very good hard rock release by APRIL WINE back in 88 with great commercial sound ,fine style and good songs.Lance Quinn in production achieves a warm sound and the hooks from the band are there!"love has remembered me","rock myself to sleep","hold on " and "wanted dead or alive " are the highlights of this underrated release!
