This had to be the hardest greatest hits cd to make in the world. Every song on High N Dry and Pyromania were Hits if you ask me! How do you choose? Then you have On Through The Night, Hysteria and 2 songs off of Adrenalize to choose from. I could never do it!!!

1 of the best single greatest hits cds around to this day. To the fans it would seem that a band deserved a TWO-disc "best of" set, but from the band's point of view, no. It is much easier to rake in the dough selling a single disc best of because more casual listeners are more likely to buy it. So 'Vault' being one disc covering 15 years of Def Leppard's career and judging the cd for what it is, I would have to say that it is great. The track list is pretty good & I dig the extra tune, track 9.

From: Desslar Date: April 10, 2002 at 2:51
Fantastic collection of hits from a legendary band. However, where the heck are: Let it Go, Rock Rock, Make Love Like a Man, Stand Up, Tonight, and Action?? A 2-disc set would have been so much better. The b-side of the single, "Can't Keep Away from the Flame" is a nice acoustic number.

From: dokken6008 Date: June 27, 2002 at 6:54
Simply put, there isn't enough room for all of the good shit on one disc. DL's illustrious career had spanned fifteen years by the time 'Vault' was released, and again, there just ain't enough room on one disc! I can't complain for one disc. Now if they ever decide to make a TWO-DISC compilation, then we're talking. "Heaven Is" would deserve a spot somewhere and could fit in rather nicely. I always loved "Overture" as well which I believe to be the band's strongest from their 1st cd, 'OTTN'.

What can I say? A greatest hits CD from one of the greatest bands ever. Of course, this is a band that deserves a box set if I ever knew one. I'd call it: Box of Ages.

From: TIM Date: July 31, 2002 at 11:43
Good idea koogles.

The Best of the Best rock band in the world. This is an awesome collection of songs.

From: freddy de keyze Date: February 24, 2003 at 11:06
Good record, sure, all hits, but best band in the world ? No, don't think so. Their lates releases are not that strong ! They lost their magic touch, but they were good, no doubt about that and this is a great collection !

From: robert Date: February 24, 2003 at 14:49
Un Marvavilloso grandes exitos d una pedazo d banda q nadie se deberia perder. Sin duda una d las mas grandes dentro del HARD ROCK, exito tras exito, y no digo nada d las producciones... inmensos los Leppard!!

From: dusty Date: March 5, 2003 at 10:32
My European version of this disk does have action an make love like a man on it and they really should have been on the "normal" release because they kick ass.

From: pablo Date: September 20, 2003 at 10:52

From: Dave...... Date: February 25, 2004 at 13:57
Excellent......

From: Blaster Date: March 11, 2004 at 4:47
Great distillation of Lep, has all the big hits but kind of skimps on Pyromania and everything before. It would have been perfect with "Too Late For Love", "Hello America" and "Promises", which came out after this album.

From: Metal Pete Date: March 24, 2004 at 18:19
The only song off of High n Dry is Bringin on the Heartbreak. The band should be stripped and flogged.

From: JACK Date: April 1, 2004 at 4:28
WHAT HAPPEN TO 'WOMEN' AND 'GODS OF WAR'? WHY DID'NT THEY INCLUDE THEIS TWO SONGS. ITHINK THOSE TWO SONGS REALLY ROCK ESPECIALLY THE BASS PART.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 26, 2004 at 1:49
Pretty good hits collection, but their albums are so good there is really no need for this. Also, it leaves some of the Pyromania hits off of this such as "Too Late For Love" which should have been on here instead of "Miss You In A Heartbeat". The new track is a waste. It's virtually the same song as "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad" with new lyrics. 7/10

From: DefLeppard8192 Date: November 17, 2004 at 8:45
Great collection except for the artwork and inside imagery, and as for crappy songs we have Miss you in a heartbeat, two steps behind and When love and hate collide, although that song could be saved with proper music, something along the lines of Love Bites, Hysteria, Have you ever needed someone so bad. Anyway replace two steps with Too Late for Love, when love & hate colide with Heaven Is, and Miss you in a heartbeat, with I Wanna Touch U.

From: Roxx Date: December 23, 2004 at 19:33
I was never a fan of Def Leppard until i sat and listened to this album and i have never looked back since, great line-up of songs, good album.

From: loman Date: January 23, 2005 at 14:36
Kick ass album, when love and hate collide song is brilliant,

From: Geoff Date: March 3, 2005 at 3:39
Awesome compilation, but that's to be expected. I must mention 'When love and hate collide' though. Without doubt, one of the best songs they ever recorded and I think it's what got me into the band. Catchy, melodic of dynamic proportions and a classic track. Love it!

From: jrenato - Brazil Date: March 16, 2006 at 0:59
Could anybody put here the full tracklist of the bonus live-album?

From: garden Date: September 2, 2006 at 10:53
cd-2 includes: lets get rocked, armageddon it, foolin', rocket, two steps behind, poor some sugar on me, rock of ages, love bites and photograph. all recorded live at don valley, sheffield. (this is a 2-disc collection)

From: Metalmusicman Date: January 11, 2007 at 16:33
Absolutely flawless best of by an amazing band!!! Comes so very recomended it's just not funny, but how could it not be? It's Def f*cking Leppard people! The only and obvious problem is that there is no way possible to fit all of the Lep's hits on one cd, so songs are clearly missing, but what is here is all number one hits. If you can, get the 2 disc set with a bonus disc of live material. Mr. Garden has been kind enough to list the set list above.

From: headbanger4life Date: January 11, 2007 at 23:38
I think this is a good compilation of thier material but I was disappointed that they only had 1 song from the pre-Pyromania era. They have so many good songs from High N' Dry and On Through The Night. I have the Japanese version of this one with a total of 17 tracks on it. It replaced 'Miss You In A Heartbeat' with 'Rock! Rock! Till You Drop' (which is ok in my book). It also had 'Action' and the Japanese bonus track 'Can't Keep Away From The Flame' the on it.

From: juan carlos Date: August 1, 2007 at 10:09
Excelente compilación, claro, faltan algunos según temas personales pero acá tenemos básicamente lo que todo fan de Def Leppard puede esperar y con un sonido espectacular, De acuerdo. 9/10

From: kai-2 Date: October 6, 2008 at 19:41
Very good Def Leppard compilation. The only flaw I found is that no track from "On Through The Night" was included here (a thing which is unfortunately common in these commercial compilations, when some bands just even ignore entire parts of their careers, maybe due to record labels issues). The bonus live CD is a gem. Still, I recommend the more comprehensive "Rock Vault" compilation.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: December 27, 2009 at 11:56
Not very many "greatest hits" compilations reside in my collection, but I would wrestle a starving jaguar while wearing nothing but a microscopic loin cloth and with my hands hog-tied behind my back before I'd be without this one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, nitpickers can always moan about what songs should have been chopped and which songs should have been included, but at the end of the day, this collection is leaps & bounds above your typical "best of" release. There's more enjoyment to be found on this album than watching Swedish supermodels pole vault naked into a vat of cherry Jell-O.

From: pie75 Date: July 13, 2010 at 3:38
koogles i agree they should've had a box set and box of ages does it for me too this is a good compilation but i think more should've come from high and dry it's like that's overlooked now and that's a shame
