Very very good Album 85/100 SWEDISH SLEAZY MELODIC METAL like SHOTGUN MESSIAH or CRASHDIËT with some HUGE gang/DEF LEP backing vocals and a nice prod. ! Sometimes early W.A.S.P. comes to mind, which it's natural as Mr LANEY was playing/producing RANDY PIPER's ANIMAL A fine release with a lot of CLASS....BUY !

Revelation of the year! Sounds a little bit raw but all songs are sung in great, 80s fashion. Full of fantastic riffs and melodies. My personal favourites are Def Leppard-like 'Get U Down', extremely melodic 'Last Man Standing', and 'I Dunno' which is similar to Winger/Warrant in style. The Kiss-inspired 'Fire and Ice' and 'I Hate Your Guns' are also great. This CD simply eclipses all other releases in this year. 9,5/10

F*cking awesome, to put it mildly. This one just came from nowhere and knocked my balls sideways out of my pants. From the opener, this is hard rock that belts you about the ears. The first 4 songs are great, but wait until you hear the next 4!! 'Fire and ice' is a killer melodic hard rocker with a chorus designed to rip heads off, 'I hate yer guts' is hard rockin' sleaze which sends knees flying into your stomach, making you vomit with delight! Then we have 'Get u down' which is in my top 10 songs of the year. Absolute melodic rock genius. Reminds me of Friction's perfect 'Down and lonely'. Truly a highlight of this year, and then next up we get another ass kicker in 'Pissed at what you missed'. Overall, there is not a dud on this and this will no doubt be in my top 5 at the end of the year. Utterly essential.

Mediocre singer for a good modern melodick hard rock. Some great tunes and some generic and poor songs.Maybe because I pretty hade any modernism in these kinds of music....

This Cd is f...ing! Awesome, in this year, for me two songs kick assses, "get u Down" and "Situation", Chris sings great tunes in this production, for me 95/100, a great f...ing rockin party cd!!!

Glad to found this one in a used shop last week, this is really a good one but not great. The only negative point IMO is the singer,nothin'special..but gooder than 17 performance fortunately." Last Man Standing"if I well remember would be the best song here for me.

saw him live 2 times and i can say that this man got a strong musical personality.his sound is strong and raw but he also has a commercial edge at the same time.pure is a very good debut with excellent sound and many many good songs as "last man standing","get u down", "fire& ice" and "i dunno".the vocs reminds me of paul laine s and the backing of def leppard s.chris prooves here that he is not also a good producer but he is a good songwriter, perfprmer and rocks big time.essential

You already know him as one of the greatest go-to producers working in the current melodic hard rock scene, but with this debut solo effort, Chris Laney proves he's capable of doing a whole lot more than just twiddling the knobs. Some minor variances in song quality over the course of the album, but tracks 5-8 are such blissful monsters that it doesn't matter if you ignore the rest. For fans of hard rock with big hooks/choruses/vocals/production, this is pure gold.

At some point during the production of one of these ego projects someone needs to step up and tell the artist that NO, they really can't do everything. In this case, "Chris, man, I luv ya, but STEP AWAY FROM THE MICROPHONE, dude." Everything else about this album (songs, playing production) is spot-on nut-busting RAWK -- but Jeezus, that voice is fucking awful. We all know Laney's got mad music chops and can produce the living shit out of an album, that's evident in his body of work. And holy hell, is it on display here -- really cool, rocking material. Too bad it's undercut by his gawd awful voice. On the whole I really like the idea of this album, but I'd LOVE it if the vocals were delivered by a credible singer. Think about it, Chris -- next time check your ego and give Eric Martin or Danny Vaughn a call. 80 / 100
