My favorite Night Ranger cd by far. They trimmed a lot of fat on this album and the songwriting is spectacular. came out at a weird time where hair metal was just blossoming and bands of this ilk (REO, Loverboy, Foreigner) were just being ignored. Still love this album.

Maybe this is their best cd. I really love Halfway to the sun (check out the amazing guitars solo). Restless kind is a great ballad, I don't like Sister Crhistian that much.

For my money, "Man in Motion" is Night Ranger's best, most consistent and most rocking record. Give the title track or "Halfway to the Sun" a crank and objects not securely fastened down will be re-located and/or reduced to a fine, granular powder. This is a monster. But it's not all decibels and decadence... the ballad form is well represented here as well: "I Did It For Love" and "Restless Kind" being two. ESSENTIAL!

They stripped down the production on this one and it sounds great. An improvement over "Big Life".

El mejor disco sin discusión de Night Ranger,la producción de keith olsen es de otra dimensión y la balada "I Did It For Love" eriza el vello

One of my favorite cds! Great lyrics/vocals, KILLER harmonies (check out Half Way...), mean, in-your-face guitars, just tasteful rock-n-roll! Very under-rated cd by under-rated band. If I could play guitar with/write music with a band, IT WOULD SOUND LIKE THIS. Their best by far!

Why is it my favorite albums by these bands are the ones which went directly to the delete bins? This album absolutely rocks! Get it if you can find it.

"Don't Start Thinking (I'm Alone Tonight)", "Restless Kind", "I Did It For Love" are all great AOR, but rest of the album has not the same quality, but it's still a nice album.

Good album, but the track "Restless Kind" makes it worth the (now fairly high) price alone. What a track, big keys, huge chorus, and check out the duelling lead guitars during the solo. This track alone is a definition of all I love about this music.

Keyboard Player out--that means more Guitar Driven songs. Maybe their most guitar heavy album yet. Some great songs on here but a little of the Night Ranger Classic Sound is missed. overall 8/10. This is really a great guitar cd though

This is where the change really begins...no keyboards, but this is still an album worth picking up. I honestly don't think it ranks above any of the previous 4 albums, but again worthwhile. Title track is a good rocker and you have "Restless Kind" and "I Did It For Love" as the ballads. "Halfway To The Sun" rocks...that and "Reason To Be" are my favorites from this one. I suppose you could say it's more guitar driven since there are no keyboards here. Give this one a spin and you'll like it

WOW! I don't even have this CD! Sorry to intrude on a page for a CD I know nothing about, but thanks to the site and the commentators above for turning me onto a CD I now feel I must own. Sounds awesome. Where does an Aussie kid get a hold of this one? Hope it's not too hard... Can't believe I knew nothing of it's existance.

Geoff, Schmankerl Records have this for €20 (AUS$34), and I've seen it on eBay a fair bit but tends to go for about the same price. Is well worth getting and one of their best 2 or 3 albums...

What a joke, Geoff ! You didn't know of the existance of this one ! Well, well : no more words needed here, folks ! Only one thing : it's far from their best, but still good cause Night Ranger is a class band !

OH F*CK AOR Freaky?!!! Have you got the firing squad ready? Quick, line them up and I swear I won't move or sob. I understand I must immediately be shot and have my life taken for not knowing about this CD! I'm so sorry that amidst the billions of CDs worldwide I did not know about one of them! Why aren't you firing yet? I know I deserve death, and now clearly know nothing about music. You're right! You really got me this time! No more comments needed. I'm really sorry sir.

I'm not a killer type, Geoff ! So don't be afraid ! Nobody deserves to be shot or to be dead, not even you ! Let's keep it by the facts : I was surprised that you didn't know all Night Ranger records and I'm still convinced that you are/were kidding us all ! Good joke, anyway !

Jack, this is 'too AOR' but Europe's "Out of this World" and Winger's 2nd aren't? I don't believe you've ever heard this album so until you have don't bother posting comments.

Don't worry-give Jack a couple of days and he'll post a dissenting opinion from/with/to himself. Yeah Jack-"Sister Christian" is so much "more metal." -hilarious.

The first album without Fitz on keyboards, but there are keyboards there (that duty fell to various session guys including the great Alan Pasqua (Giant, Van Stephenson), John Purdell & Jesse Bradman amongst others), but they were used sparingly compared to all the other NR releases thus far. An excellent set of songs and definately a slightly tougher sound all round. My Highlight would have to be the excellent Russ Ballard penned 'I Did It For Love'.

Storming release ... maybe their best. The title track is superb with a big chorus and Halfway to the Sun is superdooper! Nice heavy album. Just a quickie I don't believe the presence of keyboards denotes AOR. There are plenty of AOR songs which don't have any keyboards, straight off my head tons of John Waite/Eddie Money/Danny Wilde/Brett Walker stuff. Maybe I'll get into Liberace. AOR I always thought was Adult Orientated Rock or Album Orientated Radio not Arp Overuse Rock!

Ah, finally heard it. Definately their most consistent CD. Great sound - especially the guitars and the vocals. The first song is okay, sounds like a Giant b-side and the 2nd song is by far the worst on the album. From there on, though, it's great. 'Don't start thinking' is superb, 'Restless kind' and 'Here she comes' are 2 quality gems and 'I did it for love' is an album highlight and probably my fave. Great disc, and although I think it could have been better in '88, it's damn good.

This is their one that should have been huge and truly the Last Night Ranger record before they reformed with the originals,to record non sounding Night Ranger records to just fit with what's popular. They can't compete with young bands, especially when those teens who follow those energetic young bands, wont bother with old bands.

Good Hard Rock/MHR/AOR! "I Did It For Love (A1), Don't Start Thinking, Restless Kind, Here She Comes Again" Cuando las bandas de AOR y Rock Melodico se meten en sacar canciones Hard Rock o mas Rockeras olvidando la melodia son como los porteros tibios en las salidas que se quedan a mitad de camino titubeando, o sacas una buena cancion de Hard Rock o mejor no hagas nada y sigue a lo tuyo y eso pasa en muchas bandas como FM por ejemplo, en su estilo son los mejores pero luego quieren ser mas "rockerilos" y terminan rellenando el album, 80/100.
