As much as I really like Peter Criss, the Eric Carr vocal version of Beth on this CD is just great. He was a great dummer and could sing really well too and he's missed in the rock world.

Eric Carr was AWESOME! He made Kiss a much better band.

The version of Kiss with Simmons, Stanley, Kulick and Carr was great. They had some great material and should not be underrated or overlooked for the "classic" Kiss lineup with featuring Ace and Peter. Carr was a top notch drummer and it's a shame he died so young. Overall a great CD, featuring material from the 70's and 80's.

No one can argue the fact that Eric Carr was a great drummer. It was a sad day when he left us. In person, you would never know that he played in the most well known rock band in the world. Nice guy!! This album is chock full of their hits sprinkled with two new songs and a remake of Beth. Good for the collection.

This album is worth getting just for the songs "Lets put the X in sex'' and for "Rock HArd". Not a bad compilation definatly worth checking out.

vaya coleccion de temazos, q tios mas genuinos tambien, sexo y cachondeo del bueno, al mas puro estilo de sus paisanos van halen y aerosmith. estos 2 eran los reyes absolutos... aki hay un ejemplo de porque.

The chicks in the 'Let's Put The X In Sex' video needed to eat a cheeseburger. Not a bad compilation, but Kiss has so many great songs you really need to have every record. 8.5/10 on the song quality.

Another great compilation, with a twist.. The first time I heard Beth with Eric, I thought "what sacrilege!" Then I realized that he had been in Kiss longer than Peter and was definitely a better musician.. It still felt wrong, but I began to like it. Peter's version is best though. Rock Hard and X in Sex are great Paul rockers and make us wonder....Where is Gene? Where is "the band" writing songs and tearing it up? Which explains another Greatest Hits + record featuring Paul Stanley.

Pretty good compilation, as I was never a big fan of their studio albums. The new songs, despite being very cheesy, are some very catchy pop metal tracks in the mold of "Crazy Nights". 9/10

Honestly I just never flew right with the new remixes of the songs. A couple were better then others but for me very little is redeeming here. Eric Carr did a incredible job but I was always leary of him singing Beth. Later I found out he didn't seem sure about doing it because he didn't want to hurt Pete's feelings. What a great guy. We love ya Eric.

If your´re first getting into KISS or you´re a greatest hits buyer, this is the most comprehensive compilation available (please forget the "Greatest KISS" and "The Best Of KISS"), besides the box set. Although remixed (and some re-recorded), the songs here span almost all the career of the band up to "Crazy Nights" with two new tracks.

a good compilation of 70's and 80's kiss the two new songs are silly and fun even though paul is embaressed about them today i don't mind them

Let's Put The X In Sex and Rock Hard ate fantastic songs. This album has a fat sound that is missing from the earlier recordings but they aren't so different that they they're unrecognizable.

The remixes are not for the better, unfortunately, but great compilation nevertheless. The new songs, I totally agree Dramarama, are much better than they get credit for. Sound is very solid, drums sound good (which was not the case on Crazy nights, that could really use a remix) and Gene's bass is again rich in the mix. These singles did not do so well, but 1988 was a very tough year with plenty competition. Still very good 80s Kiss songs with a Paul Stanley in great vocal shape. It was more or less his band at that time. "Reason to Live" is on the UK version, a song that both Paul and Ron Nevison, as well as the label executives (who loved this album) all thought would become a smash hit. Ron had great success with the band Heart's previous two albums, huge sellers, but could not match this with Kiss. Still Crazy nights sold about 1,5m in US, and this compilation Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits has sold Double Platinum in US.
