Awesome release from Blue tears. Even though I ahve the complete demos it is great to have a proper release from SunCity Records(Geat job Dave!!!!). From the opening tracks Long Way Home, Girl Crazy to killer track Rock You to Heaven, power ballad Evidence of Love, Misty Blue. I could go on and on. If you miss the days of early Bon Jovi and Def Leppard (not the shit they are putting out now) then get this in your collection. Rated 10/10. |

Another great release from Dave at SunCity Records. This is an awesome cd and continues from the Mad, Bad cd. Blue Tears has the early Bon Jovi and Def Leppard sound that would put a smile on your face. Fave songs are Summer Girl, Loud Guitars, A Date With Destiny, She's Not Falling In Love, All Cried Out and Strong. Looking forward to the new Blue Tears cd on AOR Heaven label. Rated 9.50/10. |

some songs are very diffrent to Bon Jovi/Def Leppard sound, perfect example is A Date With A Destiny which is a dream song for Meat Loaf, ballad Strong is a dream song for Springsteen, Touch is very like a song Reckless by Phoenix Down(Kane Roberts project)...ofcourse it's nothing wrong with it, it shows how great band is BT, in other hand we have here naturally hairmetal killers like my faves Living In The movies, or Storm In MY Heart...very recommended |

Strong...what an amazing song, which criminally didn't even get a mention in melodicrock.com's review. As an album, every bit as good as Mad Bad & Dangerous and with tracks like 'Summer Girl', 'Date With Destiny', 'Storm In My Heart' and the MASSIVE 'Strong' it is definately a release worth picking up. Classic Blue Tears. Excellent Release. |

This is going to be a great album. I loved almost 90% of the disc on the audio samples - it shocked me how good it was. Kind of like Lillian Axe's demo CD (Yesterday/Today). I would love to review the album but i'm yet to get past Summer Girl..... what's that "played 19 times" I guess I'll have to wait. I cannot believe my ears with the opener...it's exactly the debut...the song is simply amazing and has almost reduced me to tears. |

A Date With A Destiny which is a dream song for Meat Loaf..... truer words were never spoken. I've finally gotten to this track. It's better than Bat out of Hell! |

These one and”Mad,bad..”are completely artificial/false cds’.It’s evident that the only true thing(maybe)is the Funderback’s voice and choruses. The rest?A decent guitar, poor bass and drum programming. |

Okay, if you want complete honesty out of me... Blue Tears were an amazing band, Suncity's product is excellent... but the material here is pretty much all filler/demo stuff. 'Summer girl' should be the 11th song on the debut, as IMO, it is the only song here that is worthy of the Blue Tears tag. 'Small town dreams' is cool also and there are a bunch of passable tracks here - even good songs, in the right mood... but don't be expecting s/t part 2. Good for the collection though. |

I think Geoff said it all about this release. This is filler material. In my opinion, the standout tracks are : 1. Summer Girl 4. Storm in My Heart 6. A Date With Destiny 8. Forever Yours Honestly besides these ones, you're stuck with very average material and a shitty, demo-like production. |
From: z4roxx | Date: August 19, 2006 at 11:57 |
Sacrosanct words by Geoff here.I want to say again that for me this is new material”hidden”as old recordings and It’s clear this thing if you listen well this”artificial production”.Ok,style is old by the rest is too much recent for my tastes.Personally this one is better than”Mad,bad…”,and as Geoff notes, contains a great quantity of fillers, fortunately some filler is still appreciable…. |

nowhere near as good as the brilliant debut. truly filler/demo stuff. 6/10 |

Buena. 8/10 |

To these ears, even the worst Blue Tears songs trump that of 90% of the other bands on this site. While I agree this is a collection of some of their weaker material, I think it's still pure melodic bliss. Everything they do to me is a breath of fresh air. Having said that, my favorite Blue Tears song -- and quite possibly my favorite song of _ALL TIME_ yes I like it that much, is here buried as track #13 in Strong. Words simply can't explain the emotion of this one. It starts out with a simple innocence and slowly grows into an anthemic roller coaster. My other favorites include All Cried Out, She's Not Falling in Love, Do You Want Me?, Storm In My Heart, Date With Destiny, Summer Girl, Small Town Dreams, and the chilling closer Dream of Me. This is a very underrated album from a very underrated band. If you do buy it, expect a slight drop in quality from their other works, but if you enjoyed those you really can't go wrong here. There's still gems to be found. |

a very big deception after the brilliant "mad bad and dangerous".one good song track 3 "kiss and tell"( a real hit).the rest is very very average.i understand why these songs never see the light of day since a long time. |

It makes me weep blue tears into my amber beer (Budweiser ... what else would a self-respecting child o' the '80s drink?) to imagine how good some of these songs could've been if slathered with the same slick production afforded the self-titled debut. But alas, what we have instead is a hit-'n'-miss demo collection that weighs more heavily toward the misses than the hits. That said, crank up some of those killers ("Date With Destiny" will do nicely, thank you) and you'll find yourself transported back to the days when summertime rock was all about big hooks, sing-along choruses, and stacked harmonies. So while this album might not be a one way ticket to melodic hard rock heaven, it's not exactly road-kill on a dead end street either. |
