Aug. 20, 2025: Temporary Message Board ClosureThe company hosting the message board sprung a surprise price hike on me that would have more than tripled the monthly hosting costs, so I've been scrambling to find an alternative. I've purchased a license for self-hosting a different platform and am hiring a consultant to migrate the existing board's content (posts, user profiles, etc.). However, this means I need to shut down the message board for anywhere from 3 days to (hopefully less than) a week so the data can be migrated. While this is an expensive proposition up front, it should result in some long-term savings. The current message board will be closed down at some point this Saturday, August 23. I will post updates here. The main site (where you are reading this), will NOT be affected. -Dan |

Very good hard-bar-driving rock from Mr Ron Young and co. Much alike with their debut album. Best tracks "Stand Up", "Ballad of Johny" and the best of all "Piece of the Action".If you wanna listen to something before you go out, this is an excellent choice. |

Great album! "Ballad of Johnny" has got to be the best anti-suicide song there is. Track for track this is a very strong disc. Songs are catchy and gritty at the same time. Earl Slick is one of the most underrated guitarists around. |

Usually I have little tolerance for gruff, raspy vocalists such as Ron Young, but there is simply no denying the quality of hard rock on this album. Songs like "Stand Up" just reach out, seize you by the ears, and refuse to let go, like a woman needing some tender tongue attention. Regardless of your tastes in singers, you'll be glad to put yourself under the influence of this band. |

This album missed the mark just a little. If you happen to buy CD's for one or two songs, the one song on here that is worth checking out would be 'Ain't Got It'. |
From: Tony | Date: February 10, 2003 at 17:18 |
Not quite as incredible as the first one but still way worth checking out. Great bluesy "biker" whisky rock here and "Ballad Of Johhny" is the standout track on this disc. First album had more "catchy" choruses and riffs while this one has more of a 70's hard rock feel towards it. Ron Young does have a great voice!!! |

ron young also sang on 2 songs on earl slick's solo album in your face. |
From: scarecrow | Date: December 6, 2004 at 10:59 |
an album is just as good as six packs of mr Ron Young. |
From: Geoff | Date: January 16, 2005 at 2:03 |
I thought this was better than the debut but gettling slapped in the face with a slipper is better than getting slapped in the face with a fish. 'Balld of Johnny' is cool but why did they have to call him Johnny... again! And there are a few bluesy hard rock numbers here which are okay, but for me just a little too average and I sold both CDs. |
