If you see any errors or omissions in the CD information shown above, either in the musician credits or song listings (cover song credits, live tracks, etc.), please post them in the corrections section of the Heavy Harmonies forum/message board.

The music discographies on this site are works in progress. If you notice that a particular Recon CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from Recon are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

Glam Metal?¡¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?this band play between power metal and heavy metal, the suound go in the line of SANCTUARY and QUENSRYCHE (first time)

I'd heard this was a classic CD. Beg to differ. George Ochoa admits in the liners he wanted to leave for Deliverance while playing with this band. But, it seemed a waste to not record the songs. You get a lot of guitars & a lot of guitar solos with Recon. Vett Roberts is serviceable, though his voice gets away from him at times. A singer almost seems an afterthought for this band! The melodies are ho-hum & so is Recon. Not the classic metal CD it's said to be.

Anything but glam! Should be listed as CCM!

Holy shit, this band rocked!! This is without doubt one of the best Christian Metal albums around. A must for fans of early Q.Ryche 'The Warning' and Iron Maiden, Helstar and Priest to name a few. Great vocals like Halford & Tate. I wish these guys would re-form. Does anybody have any live videos?

From: drewman202 Date: April 14, 2003 at 17:52
Geoff Tate-ish vocals that are good mostly, but can get away from him a little on the really high end. Great sounding guitars and great songs. Can't say how many times I've listened to the title track (which incidentally Jimmy Brown co-wrote before getting George Ochoa to join Deliverance, hence the speed metal sound)! Great stuff!

Great album. Last year a live album came out of this guys, with some demos tracks. LIVE AT CORNSTONE.

One of my all time favorite discs. Had the pleasure of sharing a stage with these guys in California last summer. Great band, great album. Their new singer is AWESOME! By the way, George Ochoa joined Deliverance before this album was even recorded. http://www.nolifetilmetal.com/recon.htm

Good Band, excellent vocals and precision guitars on the power melodic band...

From: Fat Freddy Date: January 2, 2004 at 11:42
One of the few Christian metal CDs that crossed over to the non-religious audience, due to the superior songwriting and musical firepower. Too bad that by the time the album was released, the band had already split up (guitarist George Ochoa was already a member of Deliverance during the recording process, as Scott mentioned above.) If they'd been able to tour and support this album, perhaps Recon would've been a big name in the underground. Talk about a lost opportunity!

By the way, this Cd was reissued in 2001 on Magdalene/M8 Records with a mess of bonus tracks, demos and their songs from the long out of print California Metal II compilation album. Worth seeking out and it's probably a little easier to find than the original pressing on Intense Records.

This is actually a CD I bought purely to trade with someone. I listened to it before it left my hands and in the end it was with a little bit of sadness that I had to get rid of it. Good solid heavy rock CD, and I don't recall the holy message being too annoying or overly present.

RECON(Heavy) junto a los DELIVERANCE(Speed) son los verdaderos amos del metal Cristiano. Trallazo tras trallazo y con esos coros espectaculares y esa voz huele clarísimamente a Geoff Tate(Holy Is The Lord a lo Queensryche tambien). God Save Recon!! 10/10
