Wow wow wow!!! finally the GREAT Rick Springfield here and this maybe my personal favorite album, uno de los mas Legendarios de los 80's por fin aca y este quiza mi album favorito de el AOR/Pop Rock del mejor el album alterna temazos AOR con buenisimos temas de Rock y Pop Rock State of the Heart(quiza el mejor de el y uno de los mejores del AOR), Written in Rock, Walk Like a Man, Dance This World Away, Celebrate Youth si no tienen al gran Rick no amas los 80's 9.5/10

This album - production wise - reflects the time it was recorded in (mid 80's)and as such sounds a little dated in places, BUT don't let that put you off as it's full to the brim with excellent, excellent songs. Celebrate Youth has a great bouncy choppy feel to it and I remember watching the video for it on T.V. and being well impressed and rushing out to get the album. The album closes with the track My Father's Chair which really is a very emotional and beautiful song.

Another fantastic album in the RS's discography. The song 'State Of The Heart' is an awesome tune, one of the best deliverated by Rick Springfield IMO... As Nick Said, 'Tao' fit perfectly with the sound and the spirit of the mid 80's, a little bit poppy, full with catchy choruses. Great album !

very good release by rick in the mid 80s.many good songs in it ,strong keyboard 80 s sound with short guitar solos, big choruses is what you get here.there is one masterpiece song "state of the heart" .amazing song that you cant get over it.listen also to the emotional "father s chair",to the great "stranger in the house" and to the ballad "power of love".nice release

This album marked a time before and a time after in Rick's career...the highlight was "State Of The Heart" originally composed by band from the land of down under,Rick's country too (Australia)..the name of the band was Mondo Rock...about this album apart from "State" we have "Dance This World Away" and "Celebarte Youth" to name others...agree with all the comments above mine's..Rafo,you are right again!..just buy!.88/100

As good a collection of songs as he produced. It's just a shame more emphasis was placed on synthesisers & less on guitars otherwise it could have been a monster. "Celebrate youth", "The power of love", "My father's chair" & "Stranger in the house" are all high quality, "Walking on the edge" is the only track that fails to deliver.
