Much, much better than I expected, some really strong songs here.

It's......ok. I really want to like this and probably would really like it under the Mike Tramp name. It just doesn't have any "White Lion" mojo to it. White Lion had some 130bpm 4/4 drumming with major riffing in it. This does not. It's good, but not White Lion.

...with the above said, it really is good and worth buying but it's not like Whitesnake, Dokken or Brother Firetribe's new ones.

I must admit that this is the best Mike Tramp album to date, I really honestly think that using the White Lion moniker was a bit deceiving to release this album. The songs are good, the sound is great too, but this is not White Lion! WL has a specific sound and this is way too close to Mike's solo material. No offense Mike, but jumping on the 80's hair metal band, bandwagon and releasing an album that doesn't resemble anything close to the original is unfair and greedy. I give it a solid (B-), because it has the name of White Lion -> would have been an "A" for Mike Tramp solo album!

Where is Vito Bratta?

This is excellent but it does not sound like the old White Lion. I think the old WL was more Vito Bratta's band because now that he is gone it sounds more like Mike Tramp's band. I do beleive this is a must have but it's different and should have been under Mike's name. Hopefully in the future they will re-vive the Lion's roar.

Shoemaker, Vito is in New York doing other things because the industry told him, "That you're not good enough for this new rock." That was grunge. He told them they were right and that he wasn't their man and away he went. He knows one style; hard rock with precision, style, elegance and melody. And nobody wanted him...except the fans that buy CD's! It's a shame for the rest of us that loved his sound.

Hey Rockman10, Why would they tell him he's not good enough because grunge is the simplest music to play? You don't even have to be accurate to play grunge. Vito would out play any grunge band. His playing is also based on many types of other styles of music so that does not make any sense that he knows only rock.

Hey Ninja, I should have put quotes around "Not good enough" as that was my way of saying the industry WANTED him to dummy down to that generation. They WANTED him to play the grunge sound and he said no for all the reasons you said and my previous post. Vito said, "Sorry, I don't know how to dummy down". I applaud him for his virtue even at the expense of us, the fan. I have a feeling he knew that White Lion fans would not like to hear him play that crap. I applaud his virtue even at the expense of us, the fans that loved his WL work. I am a guitarist too and can verify that your statement of grunge being the easiest form of rock. It was boring, simplistic crap.

Hi again RockMan10, I understand now. Too bad more bands don't have that kind of integrity as he does and not sell out. I do agree with your previous referal to Whitesnake, Dokken and Brother Firetribe which are fantastic new albums. We must like the same stuff.

Not bad, but not White Lion. Recommended, though.

To Ninjapeter:This return is a "real return" comparing to the latest releases of 80's megastars such as Europe & Def Leppard!!!:Listen to songs such as the epic "Battle At Little Big Horn" & "Sangre De Cristo" to the Aor-ish "Dream" to the powerful "Set Me Free" are good examples of "come backs" but according to some comments here, this doesn't sound like old WL...is true...but at least they did not play with Nu Metal or any other "fashion sound".Anyway,i'll give it a 85/100

To Rick, you need to read what I wrote again because all I said was this is not the old WL. I like this album very much, it's just different. Next time read before you speak.

I agree with most, It would only be fair to call this White Lion if Vito were on board .... It would be like Paul McCartney calling his act the Beatles without Lennon .... but having said that im a Huge fan of both WL and Mike Tramp , and I do like this Cd its great... Mike Tramp is a talented song writer. its just too bad he is using the Holiday Inn lounge band and calling it White Lion.

Crap? Bullshit. NaughtyDevil and opec, you are prejudiced! OK, the sound is poor and sometimes Tramp's voice is unbearable. But, in spite of these shortcomings, the music is still good, very original and interesting. Forget about old White Lion! This release grows on you after every listening. 8/10

The fact is that the songs and the melody of those songs made White Lion. The only thing Mike Tramp contributed to the band was a unique voice. His singing ability overall was poor and limited. Vito Bratta was a master guitarist and put the band on the map. No one can argue against that and be right. Probably the only guitarist that could bump EVH. If Vito would crawl out of his rut, he would more than likely do adapt to modern times very well.

albums okay. Need Vito's guitar work. After 20+ years of living in the states why does Tramp's accent get worse?
