I'll be surprised if this is not my 2nd favourite album of the year. In the spirit of honesty, I think the album's weakest 2 tracks are the first 2 (which are both still good), but after that it's commercial hard rock bliss, with Ted sounding his best since the D2 days, IMO. 'Maybe' has blown my mind and is my fave, 'Good enough', 'Curtain call', 'Endgame', 'Look out below' and the brilliant closer 'Rise' are my other faves, but I love every song on the disc. Excellent stuff. Highly recommended!

From: spawn71 Date: April 24, 2006 at 7:27
I totally agree with you, Geoff! This CD is really great and comes as a great surprise, after average (at least) albums with Melodica and Bone Machine. The production is finally top notch and the songs are excellent, true AOR/Danger Danger style! It's true that the second part of the album is better than the first, but the contributions of some great axe men (Timmons, Leverty, Lesperance, etc) are always great. Buy this CD NOW, 'cause it will surely be one of the best albums of 2006!

From: manicmurderdoll Date: April 25, 2006 at 22:33
I pre-ordered this based solely on hearing a track on the Kivel records site. I've always been a huge D2 fan so I rolled the dice. Wow. This disc delivers and then some. "Yeah you want it" could be a single for radio airplay. It's a little on the liter side of metal/hard rock-and I don't mean in a bad way, but it's just fun to listen to. Thank you, Mr. Poley. You promised a kick ass album the fans would not be disappointed with. You gave us that.

From: Erik Date: April 26, 2006 at 17:17
Another that should be in my PO box any day now !!

From: TIM (2) Date: April 28, 2006 at 9:46
Great return to form from Poley. Its on the lighter side of MHR (largely as the rhythm guitar/bass/drums are so low in the mix),but is his best work since the "Cockroach" album IMO. It opens poorly but overall it's very consistent & dripping with hooks & great harmonies & spine-tingling guitar solos. "Rise" is brilliantly written, as is "Curtain Call". The cover of "Good Enough"s a bit pointless, but otherwise is hard to fault. Only the new HOUSE OF LORDS is better than this in 2006 so far.9/10.

From: ROBERT Date: April 28, 2006 at 9:55

From: manicmurderdoll Date: May 3, 2006 at 14:50
If you are considering buying this album, (buy it, it rocks!) Ted would appreciate if you went to www.tedpoley.com and bought it directly from him. He'll even sign it for ya. Mine came from Kivel records and he offered to sign it if I'd send the CD insert to his office. He's a really kick ass guy, show him so love, people.

From: Axe-Machine Date: May 7, 2006 at 10:31
The ghosts of Melodica and Bone Machine are slayed with this fantastic record. This has both the production and the songs to make it one of the finest melodic rock releases of recent times. This is everything fans of early Danger Danger could possibly want. The only criticism is that two of the best tracks (Heads Up and Rise) are lost at the back of the album when in reality they should be out fighting on the frontline. Overall however, a MASSIVE release. 9/10.

From: swriter Date: May 7, 2006 at 13:05
wow, great stuff, just got the surprise shipment yesterday, a sleeper, in the years best, agree with all comments, have to add Breathing Doll and Good Enough as my favs!!!

From: kipvanpearcy Date: May 10, 2006 at 16:27
Way better than all Ted's previous releases (Melodica, Bone Machine, Poley/Pischler) but still nothing to write home about. I'm a huge fan of his work with D2 and I've been religiously buying all of his solo stuff, but to be totally honest there's nothing mind-blowing here. The good point is that the production is now really good compared to the other discs, but the songs are not that great. I'm anxiously waiting for the next Danger Danger album 'cause it seems Ted's at his best only with them.

From: Erik Date: May 12, 2006 at 10:00
What can i say that hasnot been said apart from the fact ( sorry Geoff ! ) that i love the first 2 tracks. Meaning: i love the entire album. Every song is spot on. What a great cover also with Good Enuf ( from the excellent Hush ).Ted sounds as great as ever. Huge compliment to Vic Rivera being responsable for most of the songs. My album of the year so far ( awaiting HoL tho ). 9,5/10 AWESOME !

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! This CD hasn't left my changer from the day Canada Post delivered it!!

From: WidoMakr Date: May 18, 2006 at 21:44
I'm glad that at least one post shares my thoughts..kipvanpearcy..I'm not saying I'm right but..I was hoping Ted would capture alot of the old D2 but I dont hear it..I'm NOT ripping on the album..its not bad...it has its moments..BUT imo it isnt close to his finest work of D2 and Screw It!..this album imo is a more mature Ted Poley..mising the multitude layers of sound of old D2..again this isnt a bad CD and I too am waiting and will be buying the new D2 with Ted..Quote the WidoMakr...Never More

From: wzcj02 Date: May 22, 2006 at 14:24

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: May 27, 2006 at 11:02

From: Erik Date: May 29, 2006 at 13:25

From: 80s hero Date: June 4, 2006 at 17:03
Ted...

From: juan carlos Date: July 6, 2006 at 21:58

From: Chad Date: July 7, 2006 at 1:30
Easily top Five of 2006. This is what music should be. Great melodic rock with a hint of Summer bliss. If you do not have this album yet, shame on you. More music like this needs to be churned out. Awesome and Highly Recommended.

From: Rob Date: August 3, 2006 at 21:46
Just got this and I have to say I'm pretty stunned. This is a return to Danger Danger from the opening track. A top 5 pick indeed! Awesome CD!!

From: zappacosta Date: August 4, 2006 at 8:08
I really dont understand the DD comparisons. Besides good or bad it's different to DD in various ways like production/sound/guitar/songs and more.

From: GhostfaceSlasher Date: August 8, 2006 at 20:53
This is finally one CD you can put into the CD Player and just relax, because you will not have to skip any of the songs. They are all top notch.I didn`t mind his work with BONEMACHINE but this just tosses those CD`s to the ground and stomps on them.A total 10 out of 10... At last a CD from 2006 that I can listen from beginning to end.AWESOME STUFF MR.POLEY.If you are deciding if you should get this well....YEAH U WANT IT....

From: erik Date: August 11, 2006 at 2:53
Amen to that Ghostfaceslasher

From: West Of Sunset Date: August 12, 2006 at 8:25

From: wzcj02 Date: August 19, 2006 at 1:20
Good album, songs 4,5,9 and 10 are pretty good. Not as heavy as I first thought, would have been better if it was more hard rock (like 4 the hard way). Still worth getting.

From: rocknroll Date: December 3, 2006 at 19:07
This is a great album from ex danger danger band. I'd say 8/10, reminds me good old Danger Danger

From: Metalmusicman Date: December 9, 2006 at 18:04
Finally! The disc we all new Ted had in him, has come out, and it is just amazing. If you are a fan of D2 or Adrian Gale, then this disc is a must for you. The 5 tracks from "Curtin Call" through "Hero Falling" are some of the best AOR tracks this year. So much better than Melodica or Bone Machine. Very recomended.

From: Selective Risk Date: January 1, 2007 at 23:57
I am a little disappointed with this release. Songs and production are weak. Snare drum is too brittle and thin and the low end is muddy. I didn't realize that the guy from Adriangale wrote some of the material for this disc? Hum! Jamie is definitely missed here. Sounds like Agriangale with a weak link. Sadly, I wouldn't expect anything more from Kivel.

From: SangreAzulForever Date: February 21, 2007 at 18:37
Nice work from mr. Poley! Not a filler anywhere. 8/10

From: aorfan Date: August 29, 2007 at 15:20
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME this album was my album of 2006 and i look forward to his new album SMILE next month. Heard some samples and it sounds amazing, can't wait ;-)

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: September 21, 2007 at 3:11
HUGE CD BUY IT NOW !!!95/100 GREAT PLAYERS and TED POLEY is as good as his early DANGER DANGER days ! HUGE really GREAT

From: Lennie Date: October 26, 2007 at 7:32
Not quite the album of 06 but damned close! Ted in awesome form here - just sheer melody and class throughout. Highlights for me are Endgame, Maybe, Look Out below, Rise (fab!) and the great dreamy ballad Let Go.

From: zoomanthree Date: December 16, 2008 at 10:17
awesome album, very ted poley!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 27, 2011 at 20:06
A big hit!!!..great solo debut of the man who has given Danger Danger an important position in the music bizz...catchy songs all over being these ones the ones i like the most:"Yeah,You Want It","Breathing Doll","Curtain Call"(nice AOR),"Good Enough","Hero Falling","(Heads Up!)Look Out Below!" & "Rise"...some Def Leppard chorus alike here and there and even some little reminiscences of Joe Elliot in the voice of the great Ted...an influence?,why not!...92/100
