Actually, I liked this one a lot too. PM are one of my favorite metal / hard rock crossover bands as they do it very well. To me, Motherland sounds like a very logical transition from Pandemonium and has some very good tunes. It has the excellent 'Mother of All Lies' and 'To Fool a Nation' to open up and then the more hard rockish songs like 'Sad To See You Suffer'. After a couple of listens, I liked Pandemonium a little better but this is just an extension of the last two discs. If you liked those, you'll probably like this as well.... 90/100 for me. |

This act started in early 80's as a Heavy Metal act then it flirted with Melodic Rock/AOR and nowadays they play this type of modern rock thing that is inevitable, shamely and that makes the band loses its credentials one way or another...i'm in pro of evolution but for newcomers not established bands at all...ok,my point is,this is not a bad album,in fact,it has plenty of good songs(for the listeners that like new sounds this might be a wet dream)but as i said, leave that for newcomers..."Mother Of All Lies"(catchy),"To Fool A Nation","The Iceman","Sad To See You Suffer"(nice),"Why So Serious","Motherland"(rocks!),"I See Ghosts" & "Who What Where When Why" are in my book for sure but just that...a matter of tastes but they should have stuck to their roots...80/100 |

Another awesome album by Pretty Maids! Keeping in the same style as their previous releases this album doesn't disappoint. Too me, this is a slight step up over Pandemonium albeit, just slightly. I for one, am happy to see this band finally getting some recognition in the current age though I thought they rated it back in the day. |
