This is the first album from Shy, and it is really good AOR/Melodicrock with plenty of keyboards..(as usual from this band). If you're into the other releases from this band, you should like this one too! I'm a big fan of Shy, and I must say that I think this is one of their best albums...but the production are not so good...unfortunately. Best track must be the faboulus "Chained By Desire"....just perfect british AOR! |

EXCELLENT BAND, VERY BAD PRODUCTION AND CD MASTERING 70/100 |

Another cd that suffers from a bad remastering job. But regarding the music, it's quite good. Some great melodies here and my picks would have to be "Chained By Desire" , "Tonight" and the ballad "Reflections" (although I prefer the version on T.B.S). Mostly an album for Shy fans, but I think most AOR fans will find it listenable. Overall rating: 7.5/10 |

Come to AOROCK.com for more information about Once Bitten......... Once Bitten Twice Shy - is an excellent debut for this AOR band. Yes the production leaves lots to be desired, but the tunes are lively, catchy and the album that got the band signed to R.C.A. Reflections is a brilliant power ballad and the entusiasm of this debut, along with talented musicians and a great singer. All time silly cover but don't let that put you off. 8.5/10, but 7/10 with production taken into account. Richard - |

first of all,i like Shy a lot!but...on this one, they've got:1.a bad cover,2.awfull production(barely listenable)!?3.kinda pre-mature writing and 4.Tony Mills looks ridiculus with his "unique" make up!(thank god he doesn't sound like that too!)if you can put aside all that, than you might find out that Steve Harris plays here probably the best Lead guitar i've heard him play!!!kinda like George Lynch style!this cd is only for Shy fans, the others better go and buy Excess...,or Mispent Youth. |

Great debut!!!..."Think Of Me" is my favorite one but other goodies are "Deep Water","Take It All The Way","Give Me A Chance"(pretty catchy),"Reflections"(nice softy)& the bonus track "All On You"(such a beautiful song)...despite the bad cover, the average production and so on like roucketas said, this album showed us how successful Shy was meant to be...Excess All Areas & Misspent Youth is another story...those 2 are a couple of Melodic Rock/AOR jewels!...91/100 |

I remember I hesitated to buy this record as the cover looks bad as Talas' "Sink Your Teeth Into That". |
