Not into this at all just lacks the production, no big memorable harmonies and no Dan on the vox. There are touchs of "New" rock in there but will stick to the first 2 albums. Give it a try if you're into a touch of new rock but will wait until this is cheap as chips...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

Very slick production on this. The songs are all great and very addictive with the all the instruments and vocals being played to perfection.

Hmmm, I'm 50/50 on this. There's nothing really wrong with it (except a couple of dreadful track like 'Prisoner of Love' and 'Complicated man', with 'Save me' not being far behind) but there's also nothing really great about it either. No doubt the vocals are great and the level of musicianship is also great, but it doesn't count for much if the songs don't deliver. There was one cool hard rocker I forget the title of off the top of my head, the two songs that Spiro has previously recorded ('Promise Land' and 'Through my eyes') are good and there are a few good tunes, but they're just that. Good. Not great. And the ballads are pretty average as well and nothing like the stunners on previous albums. Not a bad disc, just not as good as you'd expect from Giant.

Holy shit, if this isn't an amazing comeback for an amazing band, then strike me deaf and call me Charlie, as Al Bundy would put it. 13 songs, 2 great ballads, no fillers whatsoever. To me it's the undisputed album of the year(though the year has practically only started) as I don't think any artist can top these songs. Ok, I admit that, say, 20 years ago this record would have been considered "only" good but in AD 2010 it's the cream of the crop of the music industry and thus I give it 15 points out of a fucking 10! And if you don't like this jewel or claim it's nothing special, then you need an appointment with an ear specialist and if this doesn't help - with a brain surgeon.

Appears a lot of mixed reactions on this one! You either love it or hate it. Not too sure if I'll purchase this one right away. Maybe I'll wait a bit longer on this one

I never thought I would say this about a Giant release but this is not that good. No offense to Mr.Brock but Dan Huff is Giant. I hear that Strangeways may get back together for another release. That is where Mr. Brock truly shines. Just my two cents.

Another monstrous release by this tallented band. Almost all songs are memorable, but my favourites are "Promise Land", "Believer", "Through My eyes" and "Two Worlds". Great, mature AOR, as good as those albums with Dan Huff. 9/10

Contrary to the above comments, Save Me and Complicated Man are very good songs. This isn't as good as Giant III but it's still a consistent album with a solid sound. The first track is amazing and features Dann Huff who is instantly recognizable with his playing style. The album is solid throughout and I can't help but feel people would like this a lot more if they'd never heard the previous albums or if they had released it under a different band name. This is well worth getting and is certainly the best new album I've heard from 2010.

Big time in here!!!..one of the best releases of the new year 2010 and a great comeback this time having the "God" Terry Brock on vocals (Strangeways fame)..Dan Huff delivering a great guitar intro in "Believer(Redux)" and of course a great opening track,"Promise Land" a very good song followed by a nice one "Never Surrender","Our Love"(smooth and with a catchy chorus)another goodie is "Two Worlds" and "Plenty Of Love"(this one a wonderful mid tempo song)..in general lines an album that delivers the "old sound" of the band (being Time To Burn a good comparisson in sound) and of course some fresh sound.Buy and enjoy!.95/100

Reading some comments above about how this album sounds comparing to "III" of course has some differences musically talking but both are rich in texture and composition..in III the line was some kind of contuinity to Time To Burn with crunchy guitars while this Promise Land leads more towards the rough Bad Company kinda Rock and of course having Terry on vocals, into the AOR territory...just listen to "Through My Eyes" and you'll see what i mean..this recording isn't a waste and nobody knows exactly wether Terry is gonna be in the band 4 the next album or not but if they keep him, this is the way is gonna be...is my rate too high 4 this???..i think deservered it..if u read my comment on Giant III it has the same rate 95 out of a 100...listen to it and talk out!

What a great "come back". Just take this album as it is, cracking melodic rock and yep i so agree with edwithmj that for example complicated man is such a killer song. My favorties are song 1,2,4,8,10,12,13. Crank up the volume on this gem. Great album 90/100

Whilst the album may not have Dan Huff on it this is still a high quality release. Great vocals by Terry Brock, guitar playing above par and you would be hard pressed to find songs of the quality of Promise Land, Never Surrender, Two Worlds and I'll Wait For You on any other release so far this year.

Masters are back, nothin'else. This one is awesome like their first 2(maybe better than the debut). The first song is maybe the best opening song ever heard.T.Brock is also awesome here and the style is perfect aor in Giant's old same old music.Best cd in the last years,a masterpiece.maybe a couple of fillers but there are 13 songs,so it's not a big problem.10/10!!!

i prefer giant with dann huff.i have nothing against terry brock who is a good singer but he have not the charism of dan.the 3 first songs are great very aor but not fantastics.the cd start at track 4.whe find the real giant that we love.scratch track 12 (save me) who is a nightmare!the rest is excellent .i recommand the japan import cause the bonus track is top class.an unplugged version of the beautiful ballad "our love".

Terry rules! What a good news to hear he is the lead vocalist here! I like him since I heard Strangeways for the first time. It comes back to the times of early 90's but with modern influence of course a little bit.

I still haven t decided if I hate it or I love it.I hate it cause it s not really a Giant album, just a cool super band with members of the band.I love it cause the album is super cool, nice songs and Brock is always a damn good singer.roth has spent sometime imitating huff so no surprise he tries to sound like him.
