From: Rob Date: October 10, 2001 at 11:31
Van Halen's greatest. Can't beat that!

From: TrendsDestroy Date: March 29, 2002 at 20:39
I really think it's missing 'Hot For Teacher.'

From: Hot-Rod Date: April 12, 2003 at 19:44
The most underrated rock band, let alone hard rock band, of all time! Sure, it's missing some of there best songs....but that's what Best of, Vol. 2 will be for.

From: Dusty Date: September 29, 2003 at 6:38
Are those new songs worth getting this album, when you already have all the other albums??

From: Blaster Date: November 6, 2003 at 3:25
This is the first album I ever bought and it got me hooked on VH for life! Not enough song selection though, they shouldve released separate Dave and Sammy discs.

From: James Date: March 8, 2004 at 22:57
love this collection. Great songs but I also can't wait for Best Of Vol. 2 with some new songs.

From: Gar Date: March 23, 2004 at 20:05
I don't think there ever will be a vol. 2. What a tease!

From: dave Date: May 10, 2004 at 18:32
The one must own vh record. the new songs with roth are good, and this has the song from twister on it also. The import version has hot for teacher on it, so I traded this for that. This should have had that song on it. Unchained and Panama are my fav vh songhs of all time. It rocks buy it.

From: jack Date: May 21, 2004 at 1:48
Great collection by one of the greatest and best hard rock band to ever grace the earth. Except for the last two songs, the other 15 songs is pure classic and genius. whether its david or sammy as lead singer, van halen and this album still rocks and kickass!!p.s van halen is damn underated too!!

From: Metal T Date: May 21, 2004 at 21:19
I could spend this post bashing Hagar' and arguing why this entire compilation should be Roth' era songs only, but I don't want to start any sh*t and get anyone hot'.This is a d*mn good collection, & the 2 songs they did with Dave' sound f**king great !--Isn't it a shame that VH are not in the Rock N Roll'Hall Of Fame ?,the idiots who vote on that stuff should be taken out and ...Judas Priest are another great example of my point . -----------------

From: jack Date: May 24, 2004 at 6:26
I agree with you,Metal T! Van halen is a legend, quite possible the top five hard rock/metal bands of all time yet they are not in the Rock N Roll'Hall of fame. Those idiots who wrote those stuff must be nu-metal fans! Anyway,Van Halen doesn't need that stupid recognition cause we all know that van halen is one hell of a band!I don't think any fans of hard rock/metal hate van halen! If they do,they are not 'true' fans os hard rock/metal!

From: miguel-peru Date: June 23, 2004 at 18:52
VAN HALEN IS VAN HALEN W/ DAVID OR SAMMY....

From: jack Date: June 24, 2004 at 5:22
miguel,You mean david and sammy, right? Or if thats a question,i would pick sammy over david anyday. However, van halen is van halen more with david, the original.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 30, 2004 at 16:42
Everyone will argue about song selection, but the important thing here are the three new tunes. 'Human Beings' rock more than any other Sammy-era song and is excellent. Of the two new Dave tracks, 'Me Wise Magic' is classic Van Halen while 'Can't Get This Stuff No More' is only average. You can tell though that Dave's voice is gone. 9/10

From: Propane Date: December 3, 2004 at 16:35
I actually paid for this one. Roth is great on this, reminds me of the days before they sold out to MTV.

Van Halen is Big!!!!!

From: edwithmj Date: March 14, 2011 at 18:42
Of the three new tracks, I'd have to say Can't Get This Stuff No More is the best. For a compilation I'd go with the Best of Both Worlds one because there are more tracks and more choice but this is still good for what it is and is the only Van Halen album on which one can find the bonus tracks.
