OK - You either like this guys stuff or you don't, no two ways about it. Personally, I think this guy is a genius, but can see why others wouldn't as it's not everyone's cup of tea. Musically Imagine a amalgam of the pomp and circumstance of Queen, add some Kate Bush and a smattering of Nik Kershaw's pop sensibilities all rolled into one and that may give you a vague idea of where this guy is coming from. Totally unique, so as I said you'll like it or loathe it. |

Agree with Jez, the man is a huge talent. This & the sensational Queen Tribute disc are his best pieces of work - & whereas I prefer Robby Valentine's more straight forward Pomp/AOR approach, I never got into the Valensia/Valentine discs. They hate each other anyway, apparently, and refused to work in the same room together. Just listen to "My Heart is in Your Hands" - magnificent stuff. It won't be for everyone, but if you're open-minded then check out at least one of his albums. 8/10. |

I agree with Jez, Valensia is a genius! You can hear many music style in this album like Rock, Reggae, Waltz, Pop..etc, the song "Nathalie" is a very good ballad if you like Robby Valentine's "Over And Over Again" you will love this tune. The first track "Tere" is excellent, too. His famous single "Gaia" can be watched on YouTube : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7pGnnxzQk4 |

Got the first two albums. His records are difficult to get. Among the influences (Queen, Kate Bush) I'd also name Toto and Michael Jackson. There's a song on Toto's Fahrenheit-album that sounds like it was the inspiration for a handfull of Valensia songs: "Somewhere Tonight". |

Addition: Dutch band Kayak is also a noticeable influence. The melodies, the waltzes, the prog-elements. |
