From both albums they released (1994 & please stand by...) this is the most consistent and probably their best, i think. Although a couple of songs on the second release are far better then on this one. Jack Douglas produced the album, so it obviously sounds quite a bit like old Aerosmith, mixed with a little Heart.8/10

Great debut, finally given the excellent 'Rock Candy' treatment ('Please Stand By' is also due!). Karen Lawrence really shines on this & along with Storm's Jeanette Chase, was one of the top female vocalists around at the time. The Heart comparison is a good one, although they do rock out more than the Wilson sisters, so I would also add the aforementioned Storm as a comparison aswell.(Both of their albums are in the pipeline on Rock Candy aswell,Re-issue heaven for all us oldies at the moment).

What can I add to the above statements. 1994 have always been one of "those bands" for me, one of a select few along with Aerosmith, Starz, Storm, The Godz and their ilk that pulled me through my adolescent years and hold a special meaning to me. This album has been crying out for release on CD since the format became widely available. I suppose this is possibly their best as zld points out but Please Stand By.. is a killer too. Just stick on Radio Zone and go mental... this CD is a classic!!

This really does still sound pretty fresh for an album passing it's Quarter century, and has that certain special quality that certain albums did at the time, check out 'Once Again' 'Heleana','Radio Zone' & 'Anastasia' for further proof. The bonus tracks on here are ok, although don't really add much, & quality wise aren't the best live recordings I've ever heard. Much better to have left the original album to stand up on it's own, which it does magnificently well. Roll on 'Please Stand By'.

Great hard rockin rerelease from this fine band ! Personally I prefer their magnificent second album 'Please Stand By', which is even harder and better rockin than this smoking album ! Will 'Please Stand By' also be released on CD finally by Rock Candy ????? Pray it will be true. This is far superior to the Storms albums IMO !

I have a side this one,I would also know what’s the year and label of their other cd”please stand by”.is this band really gooder than both Storm’s cds’?I can t believe it…….

From: z4roxx Date: November 7, 2006 at 12:53
Sorry but where is Storm comparison here?I hear a good end-70’s melodick rock blues release, nothin’spectacular or colossal, and definetely not my kind of fave music. It’s also eveident the presence of some filler here.

What is good about this record?? I would say nothing, accept ROCK CANDY's always good looking pressings (booklet etc).

Great album, took me a lifetime to get round to listening this but absolutely worthwhile once I did! Look the vocals! Favourite songs so far are...... Once Again Sing To Me Heleana Anastasia

Owned the vinyl and now have the RC reissue. The first four tracks are the real standouts for me (Heleana is wonderful), but it's all good stuff. Production from Jack Richardson is clear and uncluttered; Karen Lawrence isn't a screamer, but she has a lovely quality to her voice.
