Hard rockers Ma Kelley ruled the roost in the late '80s and early '90s when "Every Rose Had Its Thorn," and "Cherry Pie" was hot. The quintet are remembered by their spandexed and big haired run that began in 1987. Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, "Some Live Some Not" was one in a series of excellent indies released by the band. What you hear on this disc is a range of sleazy hair metal to arena style melodic AOR with keyboards. They are certainly a talented bunch and all their CDs are worth tracking down. |

This cd is great! My best friend and I still listen to it all the time. We sure miss Ma Kelley coming to Fort Wayne, and playing!! We sure had a lot of good times with the band! They used to play at Tonto's in Fort Wayne, and when they were in town, the place was packed. I think they were one of the best bands that played there. They used to really rock! We even used to go to Indy and here them play. If anyone has contact with Terry, or any of the band, please let them know Fort Wayne misses them, and would love to have them back in town. There is one good band still in town, from the same time frame that Ma Kelley was around. It sure would be great to hear them play again! They were all such a fun group of guys! There are a few really good rock bars in Fort Wayne, and in New Haven, IN, that would love to have them! Thanks! |
