A kick ass rock album if there ever was one. Great tracks! I love 'Rock and Roll Star'

Great cd, but the 2nd cd was way better. More groove and better guitars. Better vocalist also. Johnny Geolli from Hardline. In fact, the music style is very similar to Hardline.

It's Rock N' Roll but it has elements of funk, country music, and Blues. Produced by Kevin Elson, best known for 'Y&T' and 'Mr.Big','Sons of Angel' have all the right pieces in place!

The only song I know is 'cowgirl' and I like the guitar riff in it. I have the video for that song and I think it's funny. What I mean is that the singer looks just like Axl Rose, the guitar player looks just like Joe Perry and the bass player looks just like Jack Blades. Not that it's a bad thing....I just thought it was funny. Some people on this site get pissed if they think you are ripping a band, so I have to walk on eggshells around here.

Not bad this cd was very cheap(1 dollar) when I bought it. A simple pleasant party rock . Nothin' more and nothin' less. Their new effort has been released this year on Z records, It's called 'Slumber with the lion'. It's a nice one. Nothin' has changed in the sound after 12 years, that's good . My favorite song here is 'look out for love'.

I agree with Prophet. I wasn't too huge into their sound. They are a little choppy in their melodies at times, but it's something to listen to. Actually...they did change on their 2nd cd. Johnny Gioli from Hardline did the vocal duties when Solli went on to 21 Guns. He's back for this cd. Either vocalist was good with this band. The Slumber cd is better than this cd in my opinion.

I forgot to add, the 2nd cd is called Thrill Of The Feel. It's not on here yet, but I'm sure Dan will find it.

Reno, the Sons Of Angels album that is called Thrill Of The Feel is by a different band called Sons Of Angels. This Sons Of Angels is fronted by the excellent Johnny Gioeli of Hardline and Axel Rudi Pell on vocals! I haven't heard the album myself yet because it was only ever released is Japan and it is so expensive. The album is apprently the soundtrack to a Sega game, which is called Thrill Of The Feel.

I think you are right David! BUT you are one crazy mother! You don't want to start telling Reno that she is wrong or she will fallow you all over this web-site and do what she can to piss you off.

Actually, Jun Senuoe was the Lead Guitarist on the Thrill of The Feel cd. When I got the cd from a friend, he told e it was the 2nd cd from the band. I guess I never thought of looking into it any further because of the name being the same. He just told me that Gioeli took over on vocals. The music sounds very much the same as the other cd. I'm still anxiously waiting for the new Hardline cd to arrive. As far as jason goes...he's pissing in the pool again. He'll never learn.

Book-ended with great tracks. 'Cowgirl' and 'Fly'... everything is pretty tedious.

'Sons Of Angels' had the range and power to deliver their melodic, sometimes bluesy and funky style of hard rock in a major way!!! Sometimes playing the most lousiest clubs you've ever seen for maybe 3 people... and all of them drunk can , in the long run, pay off!!! Trusting their instincts worked well for 'Sons Of Angels'. Then again, it dosen't hurt to be blessed with pure talent... and perhaps a bit of 'divine intervention'.

Overall, a nice CD. Pop-metal similar to Poison and Bon Jovi, without the sleaze factor. I would have liked it to be heavier, but that's just because I like my metal heavy.

WOW!!! I LOVE this thing!!! Hard to pick a favorite...but I think it would have to be 'Trance Dance' for me....can NOT sit still!!! I've listened to this several times tonight....and it just keeps getting better and better!!! I hear just a little bit of Derek Davis' squeels in 'Rock And Roll Star' (LOVE Babylon AD too!!)....so that was an extra special treat for me!! Thank you Cruise....for turning me on to these guys!!!

Was able to 'pick' this one up today. Not bad at all. Not a classic but all in all a very nice rocking album. Good chorusses, some nice ballads. Good effort. Have not heard the second album tho.

This one would have to get the thumbs down from me, as an entire CD. I like 'Could it be love', but it is such an obvious and uninteresting track - formularic, one might say. But a nice song, and 'Fly' is great too. Other than that the album lost me. Okay release, but far from good. Mountain of fillers. The second Sons of Angels CD is actually a lot better!

I have to agree with Geoff on the overall quality, but the ballad 'Lonely Rose' is beautiful and possibly the best track here. On a negative side, Trance Dance is one of the most awful and annoying songs in my collection, and the opening track - Cowgirl is almost as bad. 2.5/10

Now i also have the second album. Slumber with the lion. So much better effort overall.Well produced.Much more consistency in the numbers. Compared to album nr.1. that is. Songs like Hunger to love, Love you too much(!), Lazy Stacey, Talk about girls , Burning childhood, Fire (!) rock from start to finish. Also these guys do know how to write a great ballad. Listen to Hopeless Kind, Stranded. Yeah these guys are on the right track. Album one was nice. Nothing special. But the second album is a m

an avarage hard rock album.it has some hits and also some fillers. the fact that made me not puting this album into category "bad album" is funky rhythm which works very good here. my favs: Cowgirl (the best song here), Lonely Rose, Trance Dance, Could it be Love and Fly.

very good release for SONS OF ANGELS back in 90 that should be better with such big production and Atlantic behind them!their sound is a mix of TNT,DEF LEPPARD &STAGEDOLLS but of course not that good!excellent musicianship but the songwriting isnt what it should be and sometimes you feel it was left in the middle!anyway i think that its a grower and after some spins you ll find some fine hard rock moments like "fly" ,"could it be love" and "lonely rose"!good stuff but i expected more

"Cowgirl" got some light Headbanger's Ball airplay in the summer of 1990, and maybe found its way into the lowest reaches of the Z-Rock 50. "Hang on to your pony until you get enough, tell me when you're ready for the funky stuff." "Love's gonna take you for a bareback ride." "Ig you wind her up, she'll throw her hips, she could suck poison from a rattlesnake's lips." Somehow, I think they've been mislabeled as a CCM band on this site.
