WOW! As a fan of early-to-mid 80s John Waite, Aldo Nova & other arena rock heavy hitters, I was highly impressed with this CD by Matrex. Favorites like "I Don't Want Anybody" & "Long Distance Kiss" took me back to the mid 80s faster than a Cabbage Patch Kid holding a Rubik's Cube in one hand and an Atari 2600 joystick in the other! The production is crisp and the sound is nicely accented (but not dominated) by keyboards. For AOR/hard rock purists, chalk up another winner from Renegade Sounds!

Hey Koogles, I'm still waiting to receive my copy, but if I read your comment, I'm in for something special ! Can't wait !

nothing else than aor heaven. without any doubt better than the renegade cds. perfect melodic rock with great hooks. not a single filler here to be find. this is a must!! 9,5/10

Bloody hell, this is good ! More AOR IMO than hardrock, and GREAT AOR ! Where are all the guys thinking that Journey offered the best AOR record this year ? ! Boy, are they wrong !!!!! This blows away the new Journey easily ! Just listen and enjoy ! VERY RECOMMENDED stuff !

I like both of the Renegade albums from a couple of years back and Although they were both pretty good material wise, the production wasn't their strongest point. This is a whole lot better in all departments and if typical 80's Canadian AOR is your thing, then you won't go far wrong. Opener 'I Don't Want Anybody' is a belter and the rest of the material on offer is up to a very good standard aswell. A good little album this one and highly recommended.

I'm sorry but I can't agree with the enthusiasthm of this particular record. I can see the allure in it, the opening track "I Don't Want Anybody" is brilliant 1st class AOR that couldn't possibly be confused with anything but. The second track is almost as good "You Won't See Tears" and is also a keeper, but after that the album just dies and is loaded with filler. "Move Too Fast" Is just awful, and the only other semi enjoyable tracks here are 'Broken Hearted Man', 'She's A Stranger' and...

'Lookin For Number 1'. The rest of the album (tracks 4, 6, 9 and 10) are just flat, boring, throw away stuff. Compared to the new Journey album, this is slightly worse. Its really almost not even the same style, this is more pure AOR then Journey anymore. But both releases are below average stuff. Get this though if you are a die hard AOR fan, you'll probably find 2 or 3 tracks worth holding on to, but don't expect a masterpiece. 4/10

I expected more after the first 2 songs but it’s a little bit than an average pomp rock/aor release. It’s a shame because the production, choruses and singer are very good, unfortunately only some song is appreciable….7,5/10.

From: erik Date: August 20, 2006 at 7:15
have to agree with z4roxx. expected much more. kinda blend. no tracks stand out really. miss those killer tunes. not a bad disc tho. 7/10

From: Clayton77 Date: January 8, 2007 at 23:09
ATTENTION!!!! This is REAL Killer-AOR and if you really like this style you`ll love it. There are masses of outstanding tracks and for me this is Nr.1-Album of 2006!!!! (10/10)

Very Very Good AOR album, por eso no confio en los gustos de nadie salvo de 2 que ni comentan por aca, por ejemplo aca hay gente que sabe de la nota pero darle 4/10 como an puesto arriba es una tontera darle 10/10 tambien aunque mas se acerca a esta puntuacion, este disco es de AOR con toques pomposos y tambien hay temas Pop Rock/AOR pero lo mas interesante un estilo 80's total y eso le da otro plus aparte el cantante es otra cosa este si es un cantante con buena voz 8.5/10 puntuacion correcta.

87/100?Ahaha same old story in this site.Another release from the same label of Vertigo if I am not wrong. For the moment I hold it but it's pretty decent, maybe 3 or 4 good songs, nothin'else.Forget my old rate, was too generous.

From: Swazi Date: October 12, 2009 at 9:39
Well, I also think this is quite an awesome release with some really great tracks. Recommended !

From: rbrigade Date: October 31, 2009 at 18:49
I think there are 3-4 excellent songs on this album, it's definitely recommended and I'll grab one whenever I can!

From: BDrums1971 Date: November 21, 2009 at 22:00
Nice try, guys! But not up to my standards. Some ok stuff, but some of it is almost embarrassing. Another one of a slew of copycat bands trying to sound like the REAL 80's acts. You want really great new music in the 80's vein go get Work Of Art. NOW! They are the real deal. This is just a good try, with little success.
