Yeah this is quite a cool release by a band that deserved more back then when they first came out...these are the tracks plus some extras that were supposed to be on the band's second album that never saw the light of day...the ones that i put in my book were 1,2,9,11,12,13(solid softy),14 & 15...some songs have an "alternative/grunge" sound mainly because those were recorded in mid 90's so...my rate is 80/100 |

Unlike the live album, the sound quality here is actually quite good, since these tunes were professionally recorded. Many songs date back to the band's club days in Memphis, and sound like they could've been recorded at the same time as Want Some. Some others are a little less glammy, I wouldn't say grungy exactly. The demos are throwaways, and I wonder why the Milwaukee show from which "Rob The Cradle" comes didn't get picked as the live album, instead of the bootleggy Nightmoves gig. Roxy Blue were just about the last new hair-band to get any sort of attention, coming out in the spring of '92, and given the circumstances, they got about as big as the deserved to be. The songs were very much a product of their time. |
