IMO this is a must have for any early 80īs AOR fan and comes highly recommend if you like Franke & The Knockouts, I-Ten or Preview. Desmond Child had loads of hits in the 80īs. Bon Joviīs "LivinīOn A Prayer" and Alice Cooperīs "Poisen" were amongst them. Every song on "Runners...." could easily be a top 10 single but with his own projects he didnīt have the succsess he deserved. "Tumble In The Night" is my favorite track here and without a doubt a #1 dancefloor killer, so itīs up to DJīs now. TIMELESS!!! 10/10 |

Good, consistent album... It will sound a bit dated to many but you can't put a finger on the overall songwriting quality. |

Nice to have this on CD finally and Rock Candy have again done a nice job with it. This one is much more 'Rock' than the debut 'DC & Rouge' disc, which, whilst being excellent, was a bit of an oddity to say the least. This one is more straight forward stylewise and the album is pretty good throughout, especially the 3 girls vox and the excellent musicians that were roped in. The 'The Truth Came Out' and 'Tumble In The Night' are my picks for top tune, although all the songs are pretty good. It is a little dated now and coupled with the fact that supporters of the 80's-90's Desmond Child aren't going to find alot here to please them,I can see this re-issue falling by the wayside, like it did on it's original release. A nice curio for late 70's AOR afficionado, but that's about all. |

It's a bizarre spin on rock music, but somehow it works. For those willing to hear a totally different perspective on the AOR sound, check this out! |

Yeah in agreement with Harald's comment i would also put a bit of Meat Loaf in it(the cuts where Desmond is the main singer)and about the music well is a classic Melodic Rock/AOR one...tracks 1,2,4,7,8 & 10 are my faves...enjoyable stuff...75/100 |
