Rivers of Glory is my favorite song.Claus Lessman sure has the kickass voice!

From: Desslar Date: April 9, 2002 at 12:52
Solid pop metal. In particular the ballads are very strong. Just plain fun.

What's all the rage with 'Fireworks'? Personally, I find Bonfire's 'Knockout' to come off ass much more of an honest and sincere release than 'Fireworks' ever was. I like keyboards & everything, but most of the keys on 'F.W.', let's face it--were done in rather poor taste. As for the songs themselves on 'K.O.': 'Tonmeister' is a great ongoing musical ditty, kind of a goof-off, but really some great playing. The ballads are great and the rockers kick ass. All of the band members played very well.

As I was saying, check this one out and if you dig the German hair metal thAng, then stick with Bonfire. They are no cheap imitation of the Scorpions and they have written much great material in their career with completely fucking their fans over. However, that is a lot more than you can say about the Scorps.....

i never had a thing for german melodic rock with a few exceptions like pink cream 69 and some others i can't think of..but i always liked this album..it has some very good songs on it especially 'take my heart and run', 'diry love', hold you and 'home babe'... after this one i lost track of bonfire.. greetings from belgium, nitrodoll

Pretty big dissapoint for me. Previous album(s) was dynamite and now seems that nothings left anymore to offer. Billy Squier cover, Hold You, couple of ballads (works with chics) and that's it.

after killers like 'fireworks' and 'point blank' this was a mega- big flop! very poor quality- the songs/ choruses have no substance. i don`t like this album. no surprise the record company dropped the band.

A very good melodic rock album, but a disappointment after the last two classics. 'Dirty Love' is musically very solid, but is really a lame song, 'Rivers of Glory' is a bit too slow, but is nice anyway, 'Home Babe' is a nice melodic rocker with some stellar hooks, 'Hold You' is a good hard rocking track, 'Down and Out' is actually pretty awesome hard rock, 'Take My Heart and Run' is nothing short of purely stunning and is alone worth this album 10 times over, and 'Fight For Love' is great too.

From: ROCKER76 Date: March 24, 2005 at 6:45
When compared to the 3 previous albums, this was completely disappointing for me. The best songs on this album sound like rejected tracks from earlier efforts, as if Bonfire simply ran out of steam or ideas (or both.) 'Down And Out' was a cool tune, and I remember thinking 'Finally, that's the Bonfire I know!' But all in all, a lot of potential that doesn't pan out as well as it should have. 'Take My Heart..' starts off strong, but fizzles @ the chorus. 'Rivers of Glory' has a very nice chorus,

From: ROCKER76 Date: March 24, 2005 at 6:46
Continued...but the verses leading up to it are weak. 'All We Got' was an okay track as well. But if you remove these songs from the album, you just don't have much left that is worthy of the Bonfire name. And 'Tonmeister' was just flat-out unnecessary. If you're wanting to give Bonfire a try, please start with the debut and work up to POINT BLANK.

From: TIM (2) Date: March 24, 2005 at 16:28
IMO Bonfire have largely been crap since their first 3 albums, which barely had a filler on any of them. This is much more of a variety of styles, with some pop rock, some hard rock, some dreary semi-ballads, and a woeful cover version. 'Streets of Freedom' is pretty forgettable but actually one of the best tracks. 'Rivers of Glory' is a truly beautiful ballad, similar to 'Give it a Try' from Fireworks. The remainder is awful, with only 'Fight for Love' offering up some token resistance. 4/10.

What's with all the negatives? This CD is as enjoyable as fondling Anna Kournikova's bon-bons. No, it's not quite as good as 'Point Blank' or 'Fireworks,' but it's still got the big guitars, hooks, choruses, & vocals that made the band kings of the German melodic hard rock scene. Maybe they don't quite hit it out of the park on this album, but it's still some damn good stuff. Even when they're not playing quite at the top of their game, BONFIRE still knocks out most of their competition...

From: Melodiker Date: July 31, 2006 at 12:17
Again,great rockin`n stuff. 8,5/10 ok,the last track tonmeister....

From: metalhead4life Date: November 8, 2006 at 21:16
Probably not as horrible as you've heard but not exactly a masterpiece either. Down and Out is a great fast pace Bonfire song you would expect from them. Take My Heart and Run is a good ballad. Tracks 1, 7, and 11 are also pretty good. 2, 3, 5, 6, and 12 aren't that good (especially some of the intros and choruses; maybe they were trying something new, after all it was 1991 and the 80's thing was pretty much at its last stand). Over all, not a bad Bonfire CD to pick up if you're a fan.

A lot of people seem to dislike this one for some reason. I for one rather enjoy it. While it is not classic Bonfire, or up for album of the year. If you actually listen there are some really great songs here. If you get down to it, none of them are even bad. Just some better than others. Songs like 'Take My Heart And Run', 'Hold You', 'Dirty Love', and 'Fight For Love' are brilliant!!! They hold their weight with anything else the band has done. If you like the band, give this one a chance!!!

An album 2 be knocked out with!..good solid songs with that german spark that makes bands from that country quite unique!..let's start with the songs.."Streets Of Freedom" is excellent,"The Stroke" a well done cover of Billy Squier's hit,"Dirty Love" cool,"Rivers Of Glory" is a nice ballad,"Home Baby" is another excellent track,"Take My Heart and Run" is a highlight,"Fight For Love" has very good choruses, another highlight of the album and to end it we have "Tonmeister" which is a fabulous drum, guitar and bass mayhem!..get it!.92/100

From: hair metal again Date: May 12, 2010 at 8:16
excellent release by this amazing hard rock band.this isnt so easy and it needs a few spins before you get into it.there is no filler here and all the songs add a hook or a melody or a guitar solo that reall worths the listening.my favs are of course the awesome mid tempo "take my heart and run",the rocker "dirty love" and the anthemic "fight for love".and as usual angel does astonishing work in guitars

From: 123charpenay Date: June 27, 2014 at 11:58
it s time to me (better late than never) to be interesting by this record.i ve always read some bad reviews about this record.after the exceptional "point blank" this album start with an very average song.the first time i hear "streets of freedom" i think "are they serious?" "what s this shit?"there is two others fillers track 4 a boring ballad and track 12 an instrumental who never finish (9 minutes!!!!) wich have absoluty no interest (only noise).the rest? hopefully whe find again the real bonfire that we love.big guitars ,excellent songs, excellent choruses who stay in your brain without any difficulty.for make short knock out is not at the same level than "fireworks" and "point blank" but stay a real great cd that i will add in my collection.no bonus track in the japan import.
