Heavy Harmonies Review
From: Dan Date: March 18, 2003 at 1:08
Let me start off by saying that "glam" isn't normally one of my favorite subgenres of hard rock. I guess the whole "sleaze" aspect of it doesn't really appeal to me. That being said, I was downright floored when I listened to this disc! I was surprised at how much I really enjoyed it. I would categorize it more as "party glam" than "sleaze glam" (if one can draw that distinction). It's fun, catchy, and infectious. Imagine a blend of The B-52s meets Dr. Frankenfurter (The Rocky Horror Picture Show). Many of the lyrics are outright hilarious (see I Get More Pussy Than Frank Sinatra), and the quasi-cover tune Black Madonna just has to be heard to be appreciated! The musicanship is first-rate, and the band is quite tight. The performances and production on this disc are considerably more polished than the vast majority of glam discs I've heard over the years.

I like the overall attitude of the music. The band takes potshots at the mainstream, while never taking themselves too seriously. The music continually exudes "fun"; I can only imagine what this band is like live. I think they'd be an absolute blast! If you're looking for some fun music, this is definitely the release for you. Speaking as one who isn't normally into glam, I've gotta say they've gained a fan here! As the title of track 3 states, The Party Starts Now!

Rating: 91/100

I don't have the CD's 'YET' , but i did catch their whole set at Woodstock '99 in Rome, NY. This band Rocks you and cracks you up at the same time. A definate smile is on you face as your body churns to the B-52-ish babes melodies as the Early KISS/Rocky Horror looking band rock, hard and tight. This band needs so much more noteriety. They have the perfect name for this 'Young band is truly Fabulous'. They have the arrogance of Prince and the good-time feel of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

This band was fucking cool, I forgot how much I liked them till I caught myself with Get More Pussy Then Frank Sinatra stuck in my head, wish the cd didnt get ripped off cause I'd love to hear 15 minutes and party starts now again, these guys need to put out some new shit, then get their ass's out west so I can see this live show.
