If your into strait ahead metal this group has what it takes, period!!!!

From: tom Date: April 30, 2001 at 7:34
probably the most underrated album ever. jim is the best vocalist ever.

From: Logan-Five Date: May 15, 2001 at 16:47
Most of my friends thought this album sucked, but I loved it. I remember seeing the video for Freight Train and was blown away by the vocals and Micheal-Angelo's two neck guitar playing. For anyone who just wants no brainer heavy metal, this is the album.

From: darth Date: May 25, 2001 at 11:54
One of the greatest ballads ever.....Long Way From Home!!!!

From: Mike G Date: June 26, 2001 at 11:08
There's only so much talent a band needs!! I can't tell you any band that needs a singer to scream his ass off to be great!! and why do you have to play two guitar necks at the same time to prove how great you are?? Wasted time This band is an absolute JOKE!! No band needs this much talent!! Use your talent TASTEFULLY!!! Don't try to break records!! Music is about melody and heart!! Not showing how flexible your fingers and vocal chords are!! This was a complete waste of expensive studio time!!

From: raul garcia Date: July 15, 2001 at 0:22
great

JIM JILLETTE IS THE MOST WONDERFUL AND EXCITING SINGER EN TODO EL MUNDO!!!!!!!^___^

From: motley Date: July 31, 2001 at 8:05
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaa!!!! A had a total laugh when I first heard the first cd. I love some of the songs but there's a bit too much screamings on some songs but a mega great record and stunning guitar work!!!!!! The cd sounds like a glamband playing thrash hahahahaha....GREAT GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

From: jimbo Date: August 7, 2001 at 9:05
check out metal sludge for an interview with jim gillette and his new project 'organdonor'. king daimond sucks by the way

From: T-BONE Date: August 10, 2001 at 16:31
Kool music and lyrics, but I still can't get over the vocals. Jim Gillette is an awesome vocalist, but he needs to stay in one vocal range. That high pitched stuff totally killed the songs. I saw Michael Angello on Headbangers Ball years ago, and he is one serious guitarist. He had a 4 neck something, and totally shredded it. even backwards and upside down!! He's incredible. If you can ignore the high pitched screams, this is a great cd.

From: Peter Date: October 4, 2001 at 9:29
This sucks so bad that I am at a loss of words

From: SHAG Date: October 15, 2001 at 10:50
I have to agree with T-BONE on this one!! Extra cool music!! The guitars on this album are blistering awesome, but the vocals are horrible!! You can tell Jim G. spent a lot of time in the studio!! If you can overlook the vocals, this album rocks!!!!

From: Don Date: October 30, 2001 at 15:43
Absolutely awful. The high pitch screams are actually off key, which is why they sound more like King Diamond's falsetto. These dopes took themselves way too seriously. But hey, Gillette married Lita Ford, so he can't be a total idiot.

From: shooter Date: December 20, 2001 at 19:22
this is absolutely the worst album i have ever wasted my time listening to.

From: DAVE Date: January 9, 2002 at 14:53
I'm sure somewhere out there exsists a worse band than Nitro, but I can't say that I've heard one. Anyone involved with the making, producing, or selling of OFR should be banned from the music industry forever. Actually, they should be imprisoned for crimes against humanity. The fact that anyone could look at these losers and say "yeah, lets sign them" is amazing to me. I've always expected to find out that this record was a "joke" record put out by a bunch of guys who were kidding. Sadly, it's

From: modest Date: February 4, 2002 at 11:08
the best metal album ever

From: HG Date: February 16, 2002 at 20:11
This band reminds me of a baseball team that has a lot of high-priced talent, but finish last in the standings. It seems every band member was trying to outdo the other.

From: HG Date: February 16, 2002 at 20:14
Anyone who likes the Angelo style but thinks OFR is way too much should get ahold of the Gunnin' for Glory CD sold directly by Angelo. There are three tracks on it by an outfit by "The Michael Angelo Band" that are simply superb. It gives you an idea of what could have been with these guys.

From: Desslar Date: March 26, 2002 at 12:42
Simply put: ridiculous. Appalling vocals and 2nd grade songwriting.

From: TIM Date: April 26, 2002 at 1:45
These guys sound like Roxx Gang on LSD and laughing gas. They kind of remind me of Vain- the vocals didn't match the tunes. T-BONE, SHAG, HG, and Desslar pretty much summed this album up. They are cheap if you want to find out for yourself.

From: dokken6008 Date: April 27, 2002 at 3:57
Michael Angelo's UNBELIEVABLE guitar soloing is the only redeeming value to Nitro's first cd, 'O.F.R.' ("Out-Fucking-Rageous", for those who are interested on what the acronym stands for). It is truly the most INCREDIBLE & unbeatable soloing you will have ever heard in your entire life--Angelo has yet to be put to shame. Does it sound good? Not always. Besides Michael, 'O.F.R.' sucks big time & it is totally uninteresting. Again, buy this only for the most ASTONISHING guitarist of all-time, M.A.

From: Reno Date: April 27, 2002 at 7:20
I'll agree with Dokken for the most part. I remember seeing the episode of Headbangers ball that T-BONE was talking about. Michael Angelo played the 4 neck guitar every which way but loose and didn't miss a note. Some people call it talent and others would call it an angry insect buzzing around, but i'd like to see someone copy him. Jim Gillette has a very unique and wide vocal range, but It's too over the top sometimes.

From: TIM Date: April 28, 2002 at 0:14
There's no denying that these guys have talent. However, being technically proficient doesn't mean they put out great music, write great songs, or make good choices. I'd love to be able to play like Michael Angelo, but this cd still sucks overall. By the way, can see Michael's skills in the horror movie "Shock'em Dead" with Traci Lords.

From: BPG Date: May 2, 2002 at 12:53
Michael Angelo's New band is "C4" with a new singer (not like Jim G.) and it is fantastic. The vocals are what I've been waiting for all these years. Of course Michael Angelo's guitar is incredable. Finally the CD we've all been waiting for from him. I found it at Perris Records. Highly recommended!!!!

From: tomcat Date: May 15, 2002 at 11:01
yeah, c4 is cool but i want jim gillette...he's awesome

From: Ilene Asher Date: June 24, 2002 at 15:28
If you want metal, this is kick your ass stuff.

From: Cotton C. Lover Date: June 25, 2002 at 7:14
Classic example of a talented band with no idea what to do with it. Michael Angelo set a world record for speed playing guitar. Jim Gilette could break a glass by singing. Bobby Rock is an energetic drummer. T.J. Racer had awesome hair. Together, they couldn't write a song to save their lives. The glam thing was just that, a gimmick for the album and one video. From what I heard, they totally ditched the look for tour. Judging by the next album.....I believe the rumors. Not good.

From: Motley Date: June 26, 2002 at 13:45
As ever said before: a total great cd and for all the screams and speed guitaring it was all a posing thing but hell this cd roxx!!!! Sorry that the prod. isnt that well made....

I'm 23 years old and I never heard a Nitro song until May of 2001 when I bought the CD O.F.R. from of eBay, and I loved it! Since then I have been collecting Nitro stuff. I made a Nitro website a few months ago, it has a lot of cool stuff including rare video clips from the videos Freight Train, Long Way From Home, Cat Scratch Fever, and a clip of Michael Angelo playing live. Here is the link http://www.anycities.com/nitroofr89/nitro.htm

This band was phenominal!! Michael Angelo's guitar playing is fuckin' fantastic!! He can musically castrate you with his guitar...HaHa!!

From: nitrodoll Date: December 21, 2002 at 11:18
yeah, jim and michael are back in the studio to record a new effort to be released spring 2003...yeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh www.angelo.com

From: Jamesasaurus Date: December 24, 2002 at 5:36
Don't believe the bad things other people say about Nitro. They are AMAZING!! The fastest guitar ever! Insane vocal work! Only one band is better than Nitro, and that's Skid Row. Buy the O.F.R. CD, trust me.

From: jarett r. Date: January 8, 2003 at 14:34
bobby rock also played in vinnie vincent invasion and nelson.

From: Trick Taylor Date: January 9, 2003 at 19:31
Do you know what makes me lose faith in humanity? The fact that somebody actually gives a shit if Gillette and Angelo are "back in the studio". I, like most people, don't give 2 shits for this OTT bunch of third stringers. Bonus points for bangin' Lita and the 6 necked guitar. Does anybody actually scan their cd collection, spy the Nitro cd, and think yes, this is what I'm in the mood for? It is the end of the world as we know it.

From: freddy de keyze Date: January 9, 2003 at 20:03
I for one am very glad, yes my dear friend. Nitro is a MUST HAVE! Pomp/AOR/Ska at it's finest. The soothing sounds of Jim Gillette combined with the restrained, subtle technique of Michael Angelo make this a permanent resident of my very fine hi-fi system. Ladies and Gentleman, please open up your hearts and let this sunshine in!

From: Trick Taylor Date: January 9, 2003 at 20:20
Freddy, you are a freak! And I love you for it! I failed to mention the hint of Sgt Pepper's influence I hear in Jimmy Gillette's falsetto. Like Pink Floyd meets a stun gun to the nuts. Michael Angelo's (real name?) scowls while playing the multiple neck axe during the "Freight Train" video should be studied by actors everywhere. I'd rather listen to Tigertailz or Wrathchild UK or a garbage disposal.

From: Poison Arrow Date: January 9, 2003 at 22:16
Michael Angelo's newest guide to composing music can be found here: http://www.limmy.com/playthings/xylophone/

nitro needs to get back together and put out a new cd.the music today has no balls..

From: tomcat777 Date: January 16, 2003 at 15:16
Jim Gillette and Michael Angelo are recording a new CD together. It will be the first new disc by them since the "Nitro" CD "Hot, Wet, Drippin' with Sweat". Craig "KC" Kasin from the original "Nitro" will be playing Drums on the new album. Jim and Michael have written more than a dozen great songs in the last few months with more on the way. They are calling the band "Crave". "We have always been a prolific song writing team and Jim is singing better than ever" quotes Michael. The new CD promise

From: mutha trucka Date: January 19, 2003 at 3:32
i hope they actually write some SONGS this new release you speak of. showing off ubelievable skills is one thing, putting it all together to make good tunes is another. i dont ming 2 or 3 songs on an album where everyone is screaming and playing their instruments 555 miles an hour, but a whole album of it? i bet these guys could make decent songs if they stoped showing off. musical talent has as much to do with songwriting as it does showing off. listen to manowar to hear it done perfect

From: Nitro de Puta Date: April 7, 2003 at 21:20
it's kind of simple: you like good taste guitar playing and songwriting? forget 'bout this album, better buy some Scott Henderson cd. you love guitar "pyrotechniques" and everything that is cool about heavy music (earpiercing screams, etc, you know...) taken over the limit, even if it gets annoying and ridiculous? you'll love this album... but the production on this album SUCKS! very cheap sounding. Angelo is great, also check Shawn Lane for warp-speed licks.

From: koogles Date: April 16, 2003 at 14:08
One of the worst bands to ever come out of the glam/hair metal heyday.

From: scott Date: May 15, 2003 at 1:27
One of the BEST bands to ever come out of the glam/hair metal heyday.

From: Date: May 17, 2003 at 14:19
Sounds like my cd player was stuck on 45rpm when it sould be 33rpm.:-( Does this make sense? Tc

From: Rene. Date: May 17, 2003 at 17:06
Yes, it make sense. Thats the way NITRO got a special sound and thats why their are no other bands with a sound like NITRO. One of the best 80s Glam metal bands ever.

From: fretboardfrenzy Date: May 19, 2003 at 9:47
Ýncredible n extreme guitar work is awesome. Micheal is great guitar talent. He's a clever musician. But high pitched out of key vocals look like shit! actually jim is not untalented vocalist... as u can see in this song; Long Way From Home. Micheal's guitar work is always superb! Funny album 2nd album is better than this (high pitched vocal shit except)

From: Scandinavia Date: June 7, 2003 at 10:29
Man, is this for real??? Sounds like the soundtrack of some C-class splatter movie...Hahaha but I must say it's fun to listen to! Can't quite figure out if the band takes themselves seriously or if they're just having a laugh...They never hit it big time and never will but on the other hand they really know how to entertain! Ain't that what it's all about?

From: Carlomagno Date: June 11, 2003 at 17:51
Larga vida a Nitro!! They Kick ass OFT!!

From: King James Date: June 16, 2003 at 19:33
I LOVE this CD!!! It has always been and always will be a centerpiece in my heavy metal collection. I never get tired of it. Buy it at all costs and watch out! It's extreme. Be warned, though. Nitro's second CD is way disappointing compared to this one. Nitro: the fastest, the loudest, the highest, the best!

From: X4 Date: June 26, 2003 at 4:55
Hey, Micheal Angelo is the fastest guitarist ever, He is amazing, Metal + Speed + Loudness + Nitroriginality = NITO Undoubtly, Angelo can Rip (actually he ripped)Malmesteen, Dream Theatre, Rhapsody, Angra, Majestic...and the rest of the progressive Symphonic Idiots, they are nice Violinists but not Hard Metalers, Heavy Metal should be like Nitro not bach or mozart, it should be Grim and Hard as fuckin' HELL, ANGELO IS THE FASTEST EVER AND WILL BE FOREVER, Death to the dad Paganini Pussies.

From: jhonnyrocker Date: June 26, 2003 at 5:03
Michael angelo is a crap...he's the fastes but he has not good vibrato and his solo effort are terrible....he wasted his time to learn how play guitar with a hand over the neck or playin two-handed guitar...he's really a joker BLEACH...MICHAEL SPEND SOME TIME TO LEARN HOW PUT YOUR SOUL INTO THE GUITAR( MAYBE YOU CAN STEAL MALMSTEEN'S VIBRATO..)AND NOT JUST TO MAKE A STUPID THING WITH THE 6 STRINGS

From: Dean Date: July 21, 2003 at 13:26
I'll admit Nitro is a love/hate band. Me-Since i love thrash metal(including King Diamond) and Glam-I thought they kicked serious ass. Not to mention they were a blast to hang out with. If people don't like 'em that's fine but saying they had no talent at all is 100% bullsh*t. The style they chose was just not your style. These guys were told all the time if they slowed down everyone would love them but that's not where they wanted to be. I'm sorry but i have much more respect for a band like Ni

From: Dean Date: July 21, 2003 at 13:29
for a band like Nitro that stuck to their guns and did what they wanted. Best of luck to both Michael and Jim on their future endeavors.

From: CC Date: October 19, 2003 at 19:27
The music is great but I just cant deal with those vocals! I love high pitched vocals like Michael Sweet & Mark Slaughter but this is just too OTT!

From: Gar Date: November 7, 2003 at 5:36
Most of this is totally cheesy and occasionally outright embarassing. Yet for some reason I still like it. If Gillette toned down his high pitched vocal antics, this would have been a much better album.

From: ROBERT Date: November 27, 2003 at 21:09
żalguien en espańol q por favor me diga q tal esta este disco? MICHAEL ANGELO!!

From: lance1 Date: December 14, 2003 at 2:10
the video for long way from home is awesome.micheal diangelo can shred so brutal it is jawdropping.a great cd to have and very hard to find.they had the talent to go to the top.long live NITRO.

From: spike Date: January 19, 2004 at 23:21
Nitro Blows, but you gotta check out the original Michael Angleo Band Stuff. I think there's 3 tracks on "Gunnin' for glory" worth hearing. For the time, 1988, that shit rocked. What ever possed M.A. to get rid of those guys? They could've been a real band. Anyone know where any of those original guys ended up?

I think it's the worst album i had ever heard in my life, The guitar is really fast but in the wrong scale, my ear can't stand it! the drummer seems to always do single stroke roll, he learned it at 9 years old and do the same thing over and over . There more than that on the drum man. And the worst thing for me is the singer,I hope he listen this record just one time , he will stop singing for sure. Sorry for those who love this record but for me it's sound like a bad joke. Nitro doesn't rule

From: Date: March 5, 2004 at 12:44
Ludzie ten album jest niesamowity. Niezwykle oryginalna produkcja i wyśmienite umiejętności wykonawców.

From: GSUROB Date: March 10, 2004 at 19:19
ESTE CD ES DE LO MEJOR QUE HE ESCUCHADO NUNCA. JIM GILLETTE ES EL MEJOR CANTANTE PARA UN GRUPO DE ESTE CALIBRE. MICHAEL ANGELO APARTE DE SER EL GUITARRISTA MAS RAPIDO DEL MUNDO ES SUPER TECNICO. SUS CANCIONES SON IMPRESIONANTES. DEBERIAIS ESCUCHARLO. OJALA NO SE HUBIERAN SEPARADO NUNCA. AHORA JIM CANTA EN OTRO GRUPO LLAMADO ORGAN DONOR.

From: steelreign Date: March 17, 2004 at 13:45
This album has a lot of great moments, but it seems many of you are missing the point. The whole purpose of this CD, according to Angelo, was to be the most over the top performers in the scene at that time. And with that, they have succeeded. I love Michael Angelo's playing - no one can even come close to what he does. Love it or hate it, this album accomplished its goal.

From: Mitch Date: March 27, 2004 at 18:37
all i have to say is this is great and Mr.Angelo is most def the best guitarist ever even better than hendrix and i know that hard to belive but watch the speed kills video by Michael Angelo u will poop your pants no doubt about it.

From: composer & keys Date: March 29, 2004 at 16:17
I am absolutely amazed that anyone takes this band seriously, much less endorses it as anything like "awesome straight-ahead metal!!!" as some here do. The title track is abominable, as is its guitar solo, which comprises mostly tremolo picking with few actual note changes. It is incomprehensible to me that you fans of this ludicrous glam-metal band are so enchanted with gimmicks that are so far beyond cheesy, beyond silly, and utterly devoid of musical content.

From: Metal T Date: March 29, 2004 at 16:38
composer & keys------Ill second that. You nailed it !

From: Dean Date: March 29, 2004 at 20:09
Hey composer and keys- opinions are like assholes everyone has one but when you insist yours is the best you show you are one. I find enough musical content here to find it enjoyable and regardless of your opinion find it worthwhile. I suppose next you'll tell me how Yngwie plays the same thing over and over and how Gary Moore rules.

From: _Mast3R_7 Date: April 11, 2004 at 1:26
if you pay atention to the dates of this coments, you'll see how the opinions change from 2000 to 2004. I had this record when it was first released. and I have to admit I didnt like it. but after I got over the vocals and actually listened to it, I found out it was a great record. very enjoyable metal record. if you are not into this kind of music, then just move along. go listen to your limpbisket or whatever you listen to...

From: rocknmama Date: April 14, 2004 at 0:29
I have been trying to find the song Long Way From Home on the internet to DL. I am cheap man. But I love this song. I have the video taped from 1989 or 1990. They were on our public access channel here... it rocked out.

From: John Date: April 15, 2004 at 2:42
Some of these people take this album WAY too seriously! I mean, they called the thing Out F*cking Rageous! That should tell anyone right off that they were trying to be a little "out there" with it. I still play it from time to time just to hear the comments about it, and because it's a heck of a lot of fun to listen to.

From: Scott Date: April 16, 2004 at 11:13
FUN TO LISTEN TO? EXACTLY! People seem to have forgotten about the FUN in modern music. It's only Rock n Roll, it doesn't have to be rocket science. NITRO RULES!

From: MARK EARLE Date: May 7, 2004 at 13:40
U know what i like about this band?? They just dont give a f**k.. It makes me wanna kik ass.. SATISFACTION all the way!

From: ppfinder Date: May 10, 2004 at 18:01
I finish listening this one now for the first time, and i don't know what to say. Maybe aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. If my wife scream like this, i dump her right now.

From: Tmuk Date: May 19, 2004 at 16:07
Forget what the detractors would have you believe, Nitro just did it louder, faster and higher than anyone else. Yeah, Jim's voice takes some getting used to (I think he sounds awesome when singing at a low pitch, as in 'Machine Gun Eddie') but fuck it, it's GLAM ROCK! Party music! Not something you're supposed to sit down with during periods of deep introspection! Drink yourself into a stupor and just try to keep up with Jim, that's what Nitro are all about.

Hands down one of the most ridiculous bands of all time- save your money and buy some Rhino Bucket...SILLINESS

From: Big Papa K Date: June 14, 2004 at 2:30
If you look up the phrase ove the top in the dictionary, there should be a picture of this album. Insanely high vocals mixed with a guitarist who plays faster than the speed of light and a weird production job (where's the bass?). Not really an album to rate songwise, as these are mostly jokes, but the sound is just so interesting, it is a must have. 6/10

From: Brandon Date: June 20, 2004 at 1:56
As great as a singer Gilette is, and he's an awesome singer and as fucking brilliant a guitar player michael angelo is, this album is boring and lame. No songs really stood out in my mind, and the mix is absolutely terrible. All the songs are like a pop version Yngwie but with just wailing vocals. With the talent of this band, it could have been so much more than this album turned out to be.

michael angelo no sabe nada, yo toco mejor

From: Kip Date: September 3, 2004 at 16:02
Totally not my style. I don't understand how anyone can dig this music. FIrst of all, the production was so bad, it sounded like the drums were recorded underwater, the guitar was recorded on a mountaintop and sped way up, and the vocals sound like the were the product of someone shoving a knife through their foot. Paste them together with Elmer's glue and ketchup and you get Nitro. Anyone hear Mozart's S/T release? Just picture that on SPEED and this is what you get. 1.5/10

From: Geoff Date: September 5, 2004 at 2:22
Simply some of the most terrifying songs I ever let into my ears. This band is savagely bad and I feel sorry for the equipment they used to record it and anyone who ever had to hear this. The guitarist is one of those guys you know can play, but I couldn't give a lesser f*ck because the songs are just SO bad... and the vocals are described nicely by Kip. I'd just rather not comment on them because then I have to remember what they were like. Oh, the pain! Worst ever!

From: Kip Date: September 9, 2004 at 3:35
lol!! *High-fives Geoff*

From: Metalhead Date: December 11, 2004 at 0:46
O, boy! Love the "reviews" here, specially that of Kip. Anyway, it's already official(for all I care), Michael Angelo is the best guitar shredder out there, says Guitar One.

From: Brandon Date: January 4, 2005 at 17:52
Guitar One, is a great Mag, but way off. Angelo is a great guitarist. But I can think of numberous guitarist who are both better and faster and more technically diverse.

From: bentrixx Date: January 10, 2005 at 8:17
This cd roxx, full on but so was the scene then, bobbys drums are thunder, jim was said of broken bottles with the vocal freqs he did, and just 4 fact hes meant to be hung like a horse.i loved mich in shock em dead.i can understand why this isnt every ones thing though but i love it.ben from australia

From: Azza Date: February 20, 2005 at 17:37
Geoff - So could you write an album with the same level of musicianship? No, so fuck off. I can see why people wouldn't like it, but I can't see how people can't recognise the talent going on here. The vocal harmonies are fucking fantastic, the solos are intense, the drums are amazing and the bass...well lets just say TJ Racer was as good on bass as Angelo is on guitar. Yngwie is the best songwriter in my opinion, but Angelo is by far the best PLAYER

From: Geoff Date: February 20, 2005 at 23:56
Azza, I would appreciate if you could highlight the part in my posts on this band where I said they couldn't play. I never said that and although these are personally some of the worst songs I ever heard I don't doubt the musicianship, though I stand by my statements that the vocals are simply as bad as it ever gets. There's many differing opinions I respect, but when someone labels Jim Gillette the best voice in metal I immediately cannot respect another word he says, though I'm sure you care

From: z4roxx Date: February 21, 2005 at 0:07
Geoff, you're so right about this band,I've waited to reply to Azza because I thought you'd write on it again.Nothin'bout musicians but vocals and guitars solos(Michael you're great but...wait a minute, you're most speed as"Flash"man!ahahaha!)are simply horrible.Songs wouldn't be so bad but these 2 elements ruin all the other good ideas here,IMO.

From: Carmine Rose Date: March 19, 2005 at 21:18
Is it just me, Jim Gillette sound like Elmo from Sesame Street when he hits the high notes? Michael Angelo is the shredding god though, I will say.

From: auto_ron70 Date: March 28, 2005 at 0:28
most of you lame tards werent even around when this band hit the scene. they were over the top in an era of excess, that was their gig. they wanted to be the loudest, fastest, the most OUT F@#KING RAGOUS, and they were!

From: Cotton C. Lover Date: March 28, 2005 at 3:12
Yeah, Auto, they wanted to be that. Unfortunately, their songs sucked. I heard that Michael Angelo's a real nice guy. No ego with him. He's truly talented. Jim Gillete was truly talented. Bobby Rock was Bobby Rock. T.J. Racer had cool hair. The band, though, couldn't write a decent song to save their lives. Hence, you get this, O.F.R. Have bought it twice. Second time was worst than the first.

From: Carmine Rose Date: March 28, 2005 at 18:38
I think the second album was much better than this (gets behind a bunker, cause I know Nitro fans are gonna start throwing shit at me). The production was stronger, and the songs were a lot better.

From: Azza Date: May 1, 2005 at 10:54
Ahh sorry for what I wrote back there, I dunno what I was thinking, went way over the top and my post should be deleted. Seriously though, this album isn't a mature effort, i'll say that much, but it wern't meant to be. I just feel the vocal harmonies are spot on and at times it sounds incredible. If you can see past how over the top this album is you might be able to enjoy some of it, there are some fine moments on this album.

From: europe_87 Date: June 16, 2005 at 6:27
Hi ! First i wanna say that jim gillet can sing anything with his voice ! I can't understand why those who don't like Nitro are entring this message board. You like you're stupid bands we like Nitro.Michael Angelo is an alien of the guitar . Check the video instructional. Those who don't like this super band get the fuck out.Nitro Rocks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Angelo and Jillet are gods.

From: gugahardrock Date: April 25, 2006 at 12:40
I'm a huge fan of Michael Angelo, I saw him last year and I'm about to see him again this week, and I was very interested to know the Nitro sound, but I must confess that I'm so disapointed with I've heard. I could not believe my ears, the sound is ridiculous!!!! How can somebody consider Jim Gillette a good vocal??? The only thing that I have to say is: If you like real Hard Rock bands like Van Halen, Gotthard and something don't waste your time. Purchase some Angelo Solo stuff

From: roby5150 Date: August 2, 2006 at 21:30
Incredibly ridicolous!!!! At the first listening I thought they were joking.......Alas NOT!!! How high the singer can sing?? How fast can the guitarist shred??? ALL USELESS.....they are the kings of useless technique and trashy music!!!! 0/10

From: themartin Date: November 7, 2006 at 18:50
Yeah Michael Angelo is a shreder He can play very fast, so what? he don't know nothing about writing even decent songs! He got the Vinnie Vincent Syndrome but VV Invasion is a better band. This is so ridiculous and over the top, that the only thing I can do is laugh ( or cry?).Remainds me the most overthetop moments from VVI albums. Better go to do clynics Mike!. PS: the singer sucks too, and his hairdo...C'mon!!!

NITRO, DISCAZO.

Very poor songwriting and extremely annoying high-pitch vocal all over the place, avoid at all cost.

Terrible vox..........don't quit your day job.

From: Seb Date: December 5, 2008 at 10:15
Killer album! one of the best bands IMO! Jim Gillette is awesome! totally awesome!

From: edwithmj Date: December 12, 2008 at 9:39
Touch and go this one. Some songs are brilliant like Long Way From Home and Double Trouble but some are terrible like Machine Gunn Eddie. The guitars are of course awesome because Michael Angelo Bation does them! It's interesting to see Bobby Rock in this one too as this was in between the time he left Vinnie Vincent Invasion and joined Nelson. Good album with many funny moments and crazy shredding.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: March 30, 2011 at 14:29
Kinda agressive release!!!...killer metal riffs courtesy of Michael Angelo and a Jim Gillete that reminds me of King Diamond(not phisically but vocally obviously )..."Shot Heard 'Round The World" & "O.F.R." are my favourite ones but also "Freight Train"( ),"Machine Gunn Eddie","Bring It Down" & "Fighting Mad"...90/100

From: Mace Date: January 30, 2013 at 20:47
I love this over-the-top excessive band! Great stuff! It sounds like Vinnie Vincent Invasion on steroids. I guess they don't appeal to everyone, but I get it and like it!

From: Auslander Date: February 24, 2021 at 12:04
Really, love it or hate it, Nitro is an essential piece of 80s hard rock history. It's where excess reached its absolute peak. Those helium high, glass breaking vocals have to be heard to be believed. Then there is the ludicrous double necked guitar theatrics. Really, I wish I had been around to see them live somewhere. And somehow Jim Gillette got married to the smoking hot Lita Ford. This is, for better or worse, the summit of what was termed "hair metal".

From: hair metal again Date: April 9, 2024 at 12:00
pretty good debut for NITRO in the late 80 s ,a unique band that is probably the most over the top act of the hard rock genre !everything is in excess from fast guitar shredder Michael Batio till the the high octane Jim Gillette s vocals and their extreme hair looks!oh man this is quite strange but is somehow a cult release!"double trouble","nasty reputation" and "long way from home" are the highlights!
