| How can you NOT mention the amazingly wonderful Paradise? It's one of THE best self-pitying songs ever. Otherwise I totally agree with you, a superb record all through.

| Some average to good songs on here, but tracks 1,2,3,4,9,11 are monsters. Great band, traditionally influenced rock at its best.

| I agree to all of the comments above. This is one kick-ass album that no hard rock fan should miss out. Skeoch and Hannon are two of the best guitar duo in rock (behind Watson and Gillis of Night Ranger), check-out the guitar solo of Flight to Nowhere.

| If you listen to this album you will know that they are 'old school' rock. Tesla came out in a time of hair bands, but they are more like a cross of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. A great guitar band! The way they blend accustic and electric guitars is outstanding. Much better than the hair bands they were up against in the late '80.Get this album!!!

| This is my favorite,there is the best Tesla's songwriting. Hang tough, Lady luck and Love song are the best songs they made for my taste.

| Another great album from Tesla. I just about wore this one out. Although they never really put another good one out like the first 2 these are a must to buy if you don't have them.

| Heavens Trail{no way out} is one of my favorite Tesla songs! This is a strong sophmore effort from the band, and they show no signs of letting up.

| Not a bad song on this record.Anyone not familiar with Tesla's work, do not pass this up, this is a Tesla primer, for sure. Saw them at a small club in KC last year and it was one of the best shows I've been to, and I'm 39!! Lazy Days, Crazy Nights is my favorite on here.

This is their strongest effort so far!Kinda AC/DC, meets Def Leppard,meets Led Zeppelin!The guitar duo is one of the best so far!Razor cut like vocals also!I preffer the heavier,hard riffi'n tunes like:'Flight to Nowhere','Party is Over',but you also have radio blasting tunes like'Hang Tough','Lady Luck'and 'Maki'n Magic'!Plus the most honest radio friendly ballad ever'Love Song'!I give it an 87 out of 10!:P With this record they began to sound very own!This is for 80's true hardrock lovers!

| Marley's my son - Tommy and Frank aren't behind anybody from Night Ranger. Desslar - this is THE most melodic Tesla album you'll buy - Mechanical was gritty melody, this one is polished melody. Think everyone'll admit, Be a Man is the most atrocious song Tesla have ever sneaked onto an album - very cool guitar solo on there though - that song might have worked if they speeded it right up, have they ever played it Live???? This is a brilliant album - get it.

| After years of trying, I finally did figure out the intro to 'Love Song.' Just for th record. THIS is my favorite Tesla album, but just by the thinnest of pussy-hairs. I got this for Christmas in '89. I was in fourth grade, and this fucker grabbed me from the first time I played it. | this album is one of those great albums that isn't 'metal' sounding,and still sounds fresh(excluding love song & the way it is)troy is one of my playing influences and i met him at the namm show before the reunion tour.soon i'll have e-bay his autograph since i'm out of work! it sucks but i still listen to them on a daily basis.

| Although Tesla emerged during the glory days of hair metal, they never completely fit the spirit of the times. Their music was well-produced pop-metal, to be sure, but they never indulged in the glammed-up excess that made cartoons out of many of their peers. Instead, Tesla's music was bluesy, no-frills, '70s-style hard rock; it concentrated more on solid musicianship than enormous, arena-ready choruses (or hairdos). Tesla has a grounded attitude and a genuine affection for old school hard rock.

| Tesla rocks and thats a fact. One of the most under-rated band though. Mechanical Resonance, Great Radio Controversy and Psychotic Supper are one of the best hard rock albums... Tesla, you made Nikola Tesla proud!

| Love this CD, it doesn't sound dated even today, at least to my ears. Like Jason said, Tesla was part of the hair-band days but really didn't fit the pattern, and it's a shame they got lumped into that group. All 13 songs on this one are outstanding.

| Love Song is classic.But Hang Tough, Heavens Trail,Be a man, Flight to nowhere are the real ones.The album is so powerful as the first one.The intro of the Love song is must for every guitar player but you may have big balls to play with your guitar this one.Great band.

| Awesome cd, a successful follow-up to the first record. Hang tough is lethal, as is makin magic, and flight to nowhere. This is as good as the first record. They seem to have completely abandoned any trace of their original sound on the new disc. Please tesla come back to us.

| My favourite Tesla album and not a track I dislike. 'Hang tough' is great, 'Love song' is a gem, 'Flight to nowhere' is just hard rock bliss and the rest is sensational too. I love this disc! Killer hard rock.

| Absolutely awesome album,for me their best cd.I remember back in the early months of 1990 this vinyl blown my mind and still doing these days now on cd,what great tunes superb Hang touch,Lazy days,Be a man.Tesla gave us a lesson of R'n'R, the whole album is a pure & deleted gem listen'Paradise','Makin magic'these are my favs without forget'lovesong' that brings memories of the best Led Zeppelin days, passionate vocals from Mr.Keith.just to add if you, love rock as I do don't miss this diamond

| This is my favorite release by these guys. You couldn't get this cassette out of my player with a crowbar when I first got it. It has truely stood the test of time with me and I keep coming back to it. Tesla can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. I remember the getting so pumped up everytime I heard 'Heaven's Trail'.

It's a clear improvement in the melodies from the 1st one,There is more rock in the first sole note from this album that in the entire Poison Catalogue.Hey Did I Mentioned that they never needed any image campaign for success? | I like this CD, but it took some time to grow on me because it's a little harder edged than MR. In fact whenI saw the world premier video for Heaven's Trail, I loved it and hated it at the same time. But the CD grew on me and I do like it, just not as much as MR. There are some crummy songs on here like Be A Man and Paradise, but otherwise very solid. Unfortunately it was all downhill from here, as their sound got harder and less melodic, and the sales reflected it.

| A little rawer than 'Mechanical Resonance' but that doesn't make it a bad album. 'Hang Tough', 'Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)' and 'Flight To Nowhere' just flat out rock. 'The Way It Is' and 'Lady Luck' are really good slabs of blues-rock as well. Last but not least 'Love Song' is one of the most beautiful ballads around. If you don't have this, then get it. It's that good.

| Shooting the sophomore slump between the eyes. After giving the new Tesla a spin 'Forever More' with ho hum results IMO, it makes me yearn for yesteryear. This is a release of a band firing on all cylinders with one winning track after the next. Tesla was a original back in the day of hair-spray hell,even their name. Not going the route of the traditional 80's,let's name of the band after one of the founding members last names(Winger,Dokken,Keel,ect.) Taking the bands name from Nikola Tesla, the great inventor who got a raw deal in being cheated out of his dues for his life changing inventions. Musically you could say the same about this band being lumped in with much less talented acts of the genre. If your starting fresh with this band, get this release and 'Mechanical Resonance' for starters as they will be treasure troves in your collection.

| A fantastic album all around. I love Psychotic Supper for its creativity and diversity, but you just can't argue with one huge hook after another either. I guess this was the band's most 'commercial' release, but even then, they managed to work in more different moods and flavors than any of the other bands they got lumped in with (the lone possible exception being Cinderella, maybe). The choruses are big and memorable, the riffs come from all directions, and the lyrics actually have something to say. Really, there's not a bad song on the disc. 'Love Song' got to be such a big hit, people often overlook the weird arrangement it has, definitely not your average power-ballad. Neither is 'Paradise,' for that matter. Everybody loves 'Heaven's Trail' and 'Hang Tough,' but 'Party's Over' and 'Lazy Days' and just about every other song here had the same potential.

| Great album, much better than anything else I've heard by Tesla. 'Paradise' is my favourite song here, what an amazing guitar solo and a great song all round. Lots more songs to like though, for example 'Flight To Nowhere' is fantastic.

| This is the only Tesla album I can listen to without getting bored - but that's no good thing as there's still a fair amount of filler in here and I just can't stand Jeff Keith's Steven Tyler impression. Hang Tough is a decent opener but lacks a decent hook to keep me coming back; Lady Luck is an OK rocker; Be A Man is completely lifeless and dull but is annoying because it always makes me hope it will turn into something better; Makin' Magic is probably my favourite but purely for the guitars in it; Love Song is a lacklustre ballad made worse by Keith's horrendous Steven Tyler vocals; the album ends with the slightly above average rocker Party's Over. Their best effort by far but again, when the rest of Tesla's catalogue is subpar, it's not saying much.

| 1989 was a banner year for party rock, in my view. You know how it is when you're young; everything seems so new and exciting. My family got cable TV in April, and for the rest of the year, I was glued to Dial-MTV and Hard 30 (their mini-Headbanger's Ball in the afternoon, which became Hard 60 for the summer); so much hard rock on that channel at that time. There are any number of albums I could have chosen for the top spot from this magical year in my life, but I'm going with Tesla. Great Radio Controversy is their best start-to-finish album. Jeff Keith's voice was in its sweet spot here, with some rasp he didn't have on the first album, but before he began audibly straining for high notes before giving up on them entirely. The band would later claim they were always closer to the Black Crowes than anything hair-metal, which is bullshit revisionist history (and I think Chris Robinson would be more than glad to tell them so, too).

| But their music does have a more down-to-earth feel to match their relative lack of a visual image. Think in shades of denim blue warm brown instead of neon pink and green. But a lot of bands described as "blue-collar" are just bar-bands playing basic boogie and blues. Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch are both ace guitarists with very different styles that somehow work together. "Be A Man" and "Makin' Magic" are the closest things to filler on the album, but even those don't dip too far below the median, and that's rare for an album with so many songs. It was an extremely close call between this and Skid Row's debut, but I'm trying not to repeat bands in this little thought exercise.

| On a personal note, my first serious girlfriend (a few years older than me) was a huge Tesla fan, and that was one of the first things we bonded over, which lends their music a decidedly bittersweet quality.

| 13 songs, all ranging from solid to really good, now that's very cool. A long-play disc, similar amount of no-filler songs as the best album of Dokken's career. Jeff Keith can be a little annoying at times, but else his vocals are really good on particularly this album. Tommy Skeoch's guitars gave the band an edge, that is no longer present on current albums. Yes, I also agree this album is Tesla's most melodic and with strongest choruses, and also a little bit better sound than both debut and Supper. The top-ten single "Love Song" helped The Great Radio Controversy reach double platinum sales status (same certification as Warrant's Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, released only weeks apart, but without guitar ace Mike Slamer needed). Radio Controversy is a fantastic album overall!
