Another basic rock 'n roll album from the AMERICAN BAND TESLA. Much like, when you buy a Van Halen disc you know what you're gonna get, same with AC/DC & various others. Tesla doesn't let you down on this one either, in the tradition of the previous discs, you know what you're gonna get & they deliver the goods! Do yourself a favor. If you don't have this get it. 8.5

Must be Teslas best album. some of my fav songs on on the other albums but only a couple or three tracks are average. The rest are very good, Freedom Slaves, Song and Emotion, Had Enough, What you give. Tesla showing top form.

It's hard to believe that after this album Tesla wasn't put up there with bands like,AC/DC,Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. One of the best of their time. The problem is, their time was durring the 'hair band' days. And because of that they are screwed. They outshind bands like, Poison, Warrent, Winger, Slaughter and all the other shit bands. IF you want great rock then get this CD. You won't be sorry.

This is good too, but for me not as good as the others studio albums. Maybe the ballads are a little boring. I claim more respect for the great hair bands like WARRANT AND WINGER. This site is the heaven for people that love'em (like me for example). So this is not the right place to piss them.

For Pete. We are not living in the past the great hair metal bands are returnig Hurricane,Poison,Dokken,Silent Rage and Xyz are ready to strike again. And there are also new great bands like Monkeyhead,Jester,Shangai,Teer,Jaded Heart,Attraction and Silent Witness. This is not a fad, we don't care if they sell millions or thousand copies. To Pete: if your here to rip on the hair bands, then you're in the wrong place because you'll come up against alot of opposition. Besides...they've done something with their lives, whether it was in the past or they are still going today. It's more than either you or I can say for ourselves. I wasn't a big Winger fan, but you can't say they didn't have talent. Rod Morgenstein is a professer in music at Berkely for crying out loud. go whine elswhere. Anyway...This is my Favorite Tesla cd

Since we're going to be childish about all this, first of all jason, if you're going to 'try' to insult people on here, learn to spell. Drummer has 2 m's in it. Second you don't know enough about anything to be ripping on it. Rod is 47 years old and has been in many bands as well as teaching drumming techniques. Third, I think you're just pissed at the world because Burger King turned down your application in the first place. For someone who hates hair bands...you sure hang around alot. Go away.

OK..I appologize to you for the Burger King slam. But at the same time Winger was a hair band. They helped keep Aquanet in business as much as poison and Warrant did in the 80's. I wasn't a huge fan of Wingers, but I did like alot of the Guitar riffs that Reb cranked out and Rod is still one hell of a Drummer. I'm not too big of a fan of Kip's, but he can play bass very well. I still give credit where credit is due. We're all music fans here...let's play nice now

Psychotic has more depth to it than any other Tesla release. These aren't throwaway toonz, i'm sorry one of you found the 'ballads boring' but they just happen to embody the the mood the band were in at that time and i appreciate that. Best songs - Song and Emotion, Edisons Medicine, Freedom Slaves, Stir it Up is phenomenal (spelled correctly). These are examples that stand Tesla head and shoulders above their contemporaries. Enjoy. Hope Tesla come back to the UK sometime soon.

THis one seems to be taking a little step back away from Great Radio Controversy and a little back toward the sound of Mechanical Resonance. Mainly a production thing. The sheer variety of songs on this album is mind-boggling. It goes from 'Don't De-Rock Me' to 'What You Give' to 'Freedom Slaves' to a goofy little weed song. Another great album. The only bad spots are the droning end of 'Song and Emotion' and Jeff's tortured vocals on 'Stir It Up.' elfizzbo@hotmail.com

The song Song & Emotion, Dedicated to Def Leppard's Steve Clark is amazing. Love that song and reminds me of Def Leppard in style. Very nice tribute song by Tesla to a great guitar player who left us much too soon

Hannon and Skeoch sure do some incredible stuff here on this cd..i remember hearing it for the first time and thinking as a kid' waw, theze guys sure can handle their guitars'..Anyhow, i love this album, has some great hardrocksongs on it like 'can't stop', 'edison's medecine' etc etc... Song & Emotion is one of the best songs from one of the best bands to come out of the 80s. Hell, they're one of the best hard rock bands period. They were automatically lumped into the 'hair' category but totally outrock 990f their contemporaries. Saw them live once and they opened with 'War Pigs.' Tesla playing Sabbath!?! All was right in the hard rock world that night!!

This Cd is Tesla's crowning glory! At a time when grunge was taking over they stuck to their guns and released their strongest effort. Not one average song on here and I bet you'll find the band agree with me too! The band sound stronger than ever and the production betters the forced sound of their previous effort (I'll probably be crucified for saying that, but it's true!) This is a more relaxed and fun TESLA at the height of their career. They are in a class all their own!

On this one the weak tracks are all after #10, which is good because you want all the weak ones at the end of the cd. but don't shit yourself this is a good record. Don't de rock me is awesome, as is freedom slaves and had enough. Frank and Tommy are great players and guys I'm sure. pick it up!

Si hay una canción que marca la diferencia en Tesla es SONG&EMOTION dedicada a Steve clark de Deef Leppard. Una canción llena de fuerza que no deja impasible a todo quien la escucha. Es un forma perfecta de transmitir sentimientos a traves de la música, los solos superpuestos de Tomy y Frank me erizan el bello y llenan mis hojos de lágrimas. Aunque es un tema mucho menos comercial y pegadiza que LOVE SONG en mi opinión le da mil vueltas y es un fiel reflejo de lo que es TESLA. Saludos

This is a hell of CD although I like more 'Bust a nut'. Yes, there are some fillers in this album but also a lot of the best hard rock songs of the whole 80's metal scene. As for Winger: sorry jason, I think that band had a lot of talent, they're even better musicians (session men) than Tesla are. And I love Tesla!!

More Tesla, more brilliance. I honestly believe 'Song and emotion', aside from being my favourite Tesla song, is one of the best songs ever recorded. Just amazing. 'Had enough' is another personal fave of mine - especially with that killer riff. Round it up with the sensational 'Freedom slaves' and the awesome 'Edison's medicine' and you have yourself a great album, with the other great tracks too, of course...

My jaw dropped when I heard "What you Give" This record sealed it for me. I was sold on these guys from the debut but this made me sure that these guys were here for GOOD!!!!! I cannot get enough of these guys. And this record never got old for me. Full tilt rock n roll record!!!!!!!

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I did not like this CD. Maybe my expectations were way too high, but I think it had to be the songwriting since these guys are ultra-talented. So I gotta say this CD sucked for me personally, and the buying public pretty much agreed. Sales were not impressive. Again, little by little their sound got edgier and less melodic.

bien realizado que pueda haber, un grupo que no vacila a la hora de componer sus temas, y en el caso de este disco agregando influencias funkies, blues, boogie, hard, baladones semiacusticos, en fin, el grupo no se limitó y dió rienda suelta a su creatividad. Da la impresión que ninguno de los integrantes de la banda querían hacer 2 temas parecidos, realizando unos temazos plenos de versatilidad y de matices, desde la funky cañera "Change The Weather", con esas guitarras funk, y esa voz...

This is Tesla at their creative peak. The sheer variety of the songs just goes to show how great this band was, and maye still can be. This one's got a little bit of just about everything Tesla has ever done. Near-thrash metal, sweet ballads, commercial hard rock, a little funk, a little blues. It's all here. I love the way every song on Great Radio Controversy is so instantly catchy, but Psychotic Supper might just be a better album.

This is the worst of the Tesla albums. More samey dreary boring rock with Jeff Keith doing his Steven Tyler impression. I just don't get why they are so popular! They bore me to death. I listen to the album just to get my money's worth but I never listened to this for pleasure. The guitars are very skillful but the melodies aren't there and this is music that makes me sleepy and not stuff that makes me play the album again and again. 50/100

this is the real thing.one of the greatest hair metal albums recorded in history.so powerful and talented what a masterpiece.i look at some negative comments and the only thing i can do is feel sorry about those little kids who sit in front of a pc and write for something they didnt live or know.overall if you dont like this you should hear to another kind of music cause this is magnificent.

I must confess that any of Tesla's album wasn't love at first "touch". Grounded hard rock with roots somewhere in blues (IMO) opens widely up several listenings. Very fair but not their best. I would compare it to bands like Aerosmith, Bonham or Gun Shy. 85/100.

Responding to my own comment from 12 years ago: No, Pyschotic Supper is not better than Great Radio Controversy I still love the diversity on display, and in addition to the singles (four out of five of which are classics), some of the band's best, most overlooked songs can be found ("Don't De-Rock Me," 'Freedom Slaves," "Had Enough"), but ... unlike Controversy, there are some definite fillers here. "Government Personnel" should have been a hidden track at the end, if anything. "Toke About It" is too much of a novelty, joke song to be anything but a B-side. "Change In The Weather" is musically good, but the lyrics too obviously pander to late-baby boomers, like, "Hurray for our generation! We'll never get old - really, we won't!" "Stir It Up," again, pleasing melody, but trying too hard to be an Up With People kind of thing, and Jeff's voice is bizarrely pinched/choked. And "Time" has just never been a favorite of mine. I guess I just made this album sound a lot worse than it is.
