|Hey, this is a beautiful album! 'Edison's medicine' is one of the best hard rock songs ever! 'Don't de-rock me' is a very powerful song that every headbanger should know!!!
||Date: October 19, 2001 at 16:55|
|Another basic rock 'n roll album from the AMERICAN BAND TESLA. Much like, when you buy a Van Halen disc you know what you're gonna get, same with AC/DC & various others. Tesla doesn't let you down on this one either, in the tradition of the previous discs, you know what you're gonna get & they deliver the goods! Do yourself a favor. If you don't have this get it. 8.5
||Date: December 14, 2001 at 1:18|
|Must be Teslas best album. some of my fav songs on on the other albums but only a couple or three tracks are average. The rest are very good, Freedom Slaves, Song and Emotion, Had Enough, What you give. Tesla showing top form.
||Date: May 4, 2002 at 23:02|
|It's hard to believe that after this album Tesla wasn't put up there with bands like,AC/DC,Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones. One of the best of their time. The problem is, their time was durring the 'hair band' days. And because of that they are screwed. They outshind bands like, Poison, Warrent, Winger, Slaughter and all the other shit bands. IF you want great rock then get this CD. You won't be sorry.
||Date: May 5, 2002 at 2:44|
|Another great one from Tesla.
||Date: May 5, 2002 at 4:06|
|This is good too, but for me not as good as the others studio albums. Maybe the ballads are a little boring. I claim more respect for the great hair bands like WARRANT AND WINGER. This site is the heaven for people that love'em (like me for example). So this is not the right place to piss them.
||Date: May 5, 2002 at 21:28|
|Hey, Federico! If you are referring to me, then you got it wrong. I wasn't out to piss anyone off. Bands like Poison & Warrant sold alot of album and I have to give them that, but WINGER!!...Please...Go to your bedroom, put your PJ's on, give your poster of Kip a kiss goodnight and GIVE IT A REST! You should be embarassed.
||Date: May 5, 2002 at 21:37|
|Sorry Federico. I was just messin' around with you. Don't take it to heart.
||Date: May 5, 2002 at 22:05|
|Federico! Jasons right Winger does suck. As a matter of fact most hair bands suck. It was just a fad, like Disco. I'm sure most of those hair f'ers are working at Burger King. You all need to stop living in the past.
||Date: May 6, 2002 at 9:43|
|Hey Jason, Kip Winger has a lots of talent. Glenn Hughes (ex Deep Purple) is a fan of his solo albums for example. You are too much influenced by Beavis and Butthead. Don't forget to kiss your poster of Angus Young before you go to sleep.
||Date: May 6, 2002 at 9:54|
|For Pete. We are not living in the past the great hair metal bands are returnig Hurricane,Poison,Dokken,Silent Rage and Xyz are ready to strike again. And there are also new great bands like Monkeyhead,Jester,Shangai,Teer,Jaded Heart,Attraction and Silent Witness. This is not a fad, we don't care if they sell millions or thousand copies. This is just our favorite music and It always will be. AMEN.
||Date: May 6, 2002 at 12:41|
|To Pete: if your here to rip on the hair bands, then you're in the wrong place because you'll come up against alot of opposition. Besides...they've done something with their lives, whether it was in the past or they are still going today. It's more than either you or I can say for ourselves. I wasn't a big Winger fan, but you can't say they didn't have talent. Rod Morgenstein is a professer in music at Berkely for crying out loud. go whine elswhere. Anyway...This is my Favorite Tesla cd
||Date: May 6, 2002 at 17:52|
|I can't believe you're even talking about hair bands (which do suck). mechanical resonance was the best album with the best songs. little suzi? cumin' at you live! all I can say is that things are gettin' better!
||Date: May 6, 2002 at 17:56|
|Hey Federico, There is a good reason why Glenn Hughes is 'ex Deep Purple'...think about it. AND 'Hurricane is ready to strike AGAIN.'??.... When was the first time? I must have been sleeping during those 15 minutes.
||Date: May 6, 2002 at 18:12|
|Hey Reno, Isn't Rod Morgenstein the drumer? And aren't drumers wanna-be bass players? And isn't Kip Winger a bass Player? And aren't bass players wanna-be guitar players??....And besides Berkely is a overrated school. If Rod had his choice he would rather be in a band, hanging out with groupies. But I guess he isn't good enough.
||Date: May 6, 2002 at 19:18|
|Hey Federico Prt.2, You used Angus Young's name when you were ripping on me. That must pain you, because I know you are an AC/DC fan. AND besides....when Kip Winger sells 100 million albums world wide like AC/DC, then you can come talk to me, but until then, go lie down by your dish like a good little puppy.
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 10:34|
|Since we're going to be childish about all this, first of all jason, if you're going to 'try' to insult people on here, learn to spell. Drummer has 2 m's in it. Second you don't know enough about anything to be ripping on it. Rod is 47 years old and has been in many bands as well as teaching drumming techniques. Third, I think you're just pissed at the world because Burger King turned down your application in the first place. For someone who hates hair bands...you sure hang around alot. Go away.
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 10:43|
|For anyone who wants more info on Rod's career, check this site out. Maybe Jason will learn to read and write and someday he'll check this out too. Until then...there are pictures. Hukt on fonix werkt fer me. http://www.rodmorgenstein.com/about.html
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 17:02|
|Ok, First things first. #1 You are right, drummers is with two M's. I saw that myself. If I thought it was necessary, I would have fixed it. But after all we were only talking about Rod M. #2 You need to start paying attention. I never said a word about Burger King. That was Pete, so give him hell about it and not me. #3 RENO (if that is your real name?), I DO like hair bands. Like Tesla, Faster Pussycat, Tora Tora, Cinderella, G'n'R, Dangerous Toys and Kix. That's why I'm here. REAL Hair Bands!
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 17:23|
|See what I started. SEE!!! God I love being the instigator. Yes gentlemen, My work is done.
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 17:36|
|OK..I appologize to you for the Burger King slam. But at the same time Winger was a hair band. They helped keep Aquanet in business as much as poison and Warrant did in the 80's. I wasn't a huge fan of Wingers, but I did like alot of the Guitar riffs that Reb cranked out and Rod is still one hell of a Drummer. I'm not too big of a fan of Kip's, but he can play bass very well. I still give credit where credit is due. We're all music fans here...let's play nice now
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 17:40|
|Actually....why are we doing all the Winger fighting on a Tesla page? hahaha. Maybe we'll have to post some Tesla reviews on the Winger page to balance them out.
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 18:13|
|From the start I thought it was funny how we were going on and on about Winger on this Tesla page. I think we are having our own Psychotic Supper. I think it's great and i'm glad I caught some peoples' attention and you told me what you REALLY think. I got stuff to say about other bands (some good/some bad). So maybe I will see you around this web-site.
||Date: May 7, 2002 at 20:27|
|Finally, let's get back to rock and roll!!! Tesla is good!
||Date: May 17, 2002 at 19:58|
|hey jason,how the hell you can name tesla-tora tora as a hair band?(especially tesla)jeff always kept sayin' they are all non-make upers.for the cd;typical great tesla tune,but 2nd album is my all time fave.ý'm glad that they are back to replug and kick some more asses.(ý also appreciate winger too,they were cool)
||Date: September 11, 2002 at 6:37|
|Although I prefer the former two studio-albums, this one is also nice.
||Date: September 14, 2002 at 13:37|
|Psychotic has more depth to it than any other Tesla release. These aren't throwaway toonz, i'm sorry one of you found the 'ballads boring' but they just happen to embody the the mood the band were in at that time and i appreciate that. Best songs - Song and Emotion, Edisons Medicine, Freedom Slaves, Stir it Up is phenomenal (spelled correctly). These are examples that stand Tesla head and shoulders above their contemporaries. Enjoy. Hope Tesla come back to the UK sometime soon.

|THis one seems to be taking a little step back away from Great Radio Controversy and a little back toward the sound of Mechanical Resonance. Mainly a production thing. The sheer variety of songs on this album is mind-boggling. It goes from 'Don't De-Rock Me' to 'What You Give' to 'Freedom Slaves' to a goofy little weed song. Another great album. The only bad spots are the droning end of 'Song and Emotion' and Jeff's tortured vocals on 'Stir It Up.' email@example.com

|The song Song & Emotion, Dedicated to Def Leppard's Steve Clark is amazing. Love that song and reminds me of Def Leppard in style. Very nice tribute song by Tesla to a great guitar player who left us much too soon

|Me become crazy when me hear Don't de - Rock me... Me like Tesla very Much. Me headbang hard...

||Date: September 3, 2003 at 10:09|
|Ok. I'm tottaly in love in Don't De - Rock Me song. It's my personal best song and it has the best solo I ever heard. Hannon And Skeoch are incredible. So I ask you to help me or suggest me to find similar song like Don't De - Rock Me. This song is just rippin'.
||Date: September 3, 2003 at 17:28|
|Hannon and Skeoch sure do some incredible stuff here on this cd..i remember hearing it for the first time and thinking as a kid' waw, theze guys sure can handle their guitars'..Anyhow, i love this album, has some great hardrocksongs on it like 'can't stop', 'edison's medecine' etc etc... I always loved this band ..they haven't let me down once..long live tesla

|Song & Emotion is one of the best songs from one of the best bands to come out of the 80s. Hell, they're one of the best hard rock bands period. They were automatically lumped into the 'hair' category but totally outrock 990f their contemporaries. Saw them live once and they opened with 'War Pigs.' Tesla playing Sabbath!?! All was right in the hard rock world that night!!
||Date: March 13, 2004 at 1:38|
|when I liste tesla with 13 years old my heart pumping, this is a great hard rock band all the records is amazing. Since I sow the hang tougth video I never stop to listen
||Date: March 18, 2004 at 6:58|
|This Cd is Tesla's crowning glory! At a time when grunge was taking over they stuck to their guns and released their strongest effort. Not one average song on here and I bet you'll find the band agree with me too! The band sound stronger than ever and the production betters the forced sound of their previous effort (I'll probably be crucified for saying that, but it's true!) This is a more relaxed and fun TESLA at the height of their career. They are in a class all their own!
||Date: May 2, 2004 at 18:52|
|What am i suppose to say about this album.Absolutely in your face...If you wanna know what reall Hard Rock is all about take this one.Or just die.LONG LIVE TESLA!

|On this one the weak tracks are all after #10, which is good because you want all the weak ones at the end of the cd. but don't shit yourself this is a good record. Don't de rock me is awesome, as is freedom slaves and had enough. Frank and Tommy are great players and guys I'm sure. pick it up!

|This is Tesla at their best, rocking hard on 'Freedom Slaves' and 'Edisons Medicine' and turning out quality lighter tracks such as 'Call It What You Want' and 'What You Give'. 9/10
||Date: July 2, 2004 at 12:01|
|Hey Papa, what about 'Song & Emotion'??? I remember buying the album based solely on that song and 'Freedom Slaves' alone. But I agree with your assessment and certainly second that rating. Top notch album from a killer hard rock band!!

|Hey Rocker76, 'Song & Emotion' is great as well. Just did not want to list every song in my review.
||Date: July 8, 2004 at 9:31|
Saludos

|This is a hell of CD although I like more 'Bust a nut'. Yes, there are some fillers in this album but also a lot of the best hard rock songs of the whole 80's metal scene. As for Winger: sorry jason, I think that band had a lot of talent, they're even better musicians (session men) than Tesla are. And I love Tesla!!
||Date: August 29, 2004 at 23:34|
|More Tesla, more brilliance. I honestly believe 'Song and emotion', aside from being my favourite Tesla song, is one of the best songs ever recorded. Just amazing. 'Had enough' is another personal fave of mine - especially with that killer riff. Round it up with the sensational 'Freedom slaves' and the awesome 'Edison's medicine' and you have yourself a great album, with the other great tracks too, of course...
||Date: December 1, 2004 at 17:27|
|They came back strong with this one. Edison's medicine kicked major ass, is always an awesome one live. Be sure to scrape together anything you can to purchase this jewel.
||Date: February 7, 2005 at 13:59|
|It just doesn't get much better than this, and considering the release year, it's damn-near perfect.
||Date: September 13, 2005 at 1:18|
|My jaw dropped when I heard "What you Give" This record sealed it for me. I was sold on these guys from the debut but this made me sure that these guys were here for GOOD!!!!! I cannot get enough of these guys. And this record never got old for me. Full tilt rock n roll record!!!!!!!

|Me encanta el primer disco de Tesla, pero el resto me aburren hasta la saciedad.. y este no se salva
||Date: January 19, 2007 at 10:53|
|nose como te pueden aburrir, si este disco es perfecto, hasta lo tengo en longplay, para mi, muy recomendado.....
||Date: April 29, 2007 at 4:38|
|I don't know what's wrong with me, but I did not like this CD. Maybe my expectations were way too high, but I think it had to be the songwriting since these guys are ultra-talented. So I gotta say this CD sucked for me personally, and the buying public pretty much agreed. Sales were not impressive. Again, little by little their sound got edgier and less melodic.
||Date: May 31, 2007 at 20:10|

|This is Tesla at their creative peak. The sheer variety of the songs just goes to show how great this band was, and maye still can be. This one's got a little bit of just about everything Tesla has ever done. Near-thrash metal, sweet ballads, commercial hard rock, a little funk, a little blues. It's all here. I love the way every song on Great Radio Controversy is so instantly catchy, but Psychotic Supper might just be a better album.
||Date: September 21, 2008 at 21:55|
|A few killers with some fillers,listen to Vengeance-Back in the Ring for a consistent album.
||Date: February 28, 2009 at 19:07|
|This is the worst of the Tesla albums. More samey dreary boring rock with Jeff Keith doing his Steven Tyler impression. I just don't get why they are so popular! They bore me to death. I listen to the album just to get my money's worth but I never listened to this for pleasure. The guitars are very skillful but the melodies aren't there and this is music that makes me sleepy and not stuff that makes me play the album again and again. 50/100

|I must confess that any of Tesla's album wasn't love at first "touch". Grounded hard rock with roots somewhere in blues (IMO) opens widely up several listenings. Very fair but not their best. I would compare it to bands like Aerosmith, Bonham or Gun Shy. 85/100.

|Responding to my own comment from 12 years ago: No, Pyschotic Supper is not better than Great Radio Controversy I still love the diversity on display, and in addition to the singles (four out of five of which are classics), some of the band's best, most overlooked songs can be found ("Don't De-Rock Me," 'Freedom Slaves," "Had Enough"), but ... unlike Controversy, there are some definite fillers here. "Government Personnel" should have been a hidden track at the end, if anything. "Toke About It" is too much of a novelty, joke song to be anything but a B-side. "Change In The Weather" is musically good, but the lyrics too obviously pander to late-baby boomers, like, "Hurray for our generation! We'll never get old - really, we won't!" "Stir It Up," again, pleasing melody, but trying too hard to be an Up With People kind of thing, and Jeff's voice is bizarrely pinched/choked. And "Time" has just never been a favorite of mine. I guess I just made this album sound a lot worse than it is.
