The first five nee tracks were great and that was what I was 'expecting' the next full cd to sound like. Great production and songwriting here. Too bad that they last that after this cd. Hollyweird sucked

From: M. Allen Date: September 24, 2002 at 12:49
The five new studio tracks on this CD are great. If 'Hollyweird' had continued with that sound, none of the fans would be complaining. On 'Power...,' the band sounds tight, with top-notch production, and the songs deliver what you have come to expect from POISON--good guitars, good vocals, good hooks, good harmonies, etc., etc. Personally, I didn't think 'Hollyweird' was terrible, but it certainly didn't give the people what they wanted, not like this album did.

From: James Date: September 24, 2002 at 19:51
Tracks 2,3 and 4 are good new songs. #1 I did not like and #5 I do not like to hear CC sing. The live part was done very cheap and is sub-par. An ok album to have but i think that a 7.0 is my rating

From: dokken6008 Date: September 26, 2002 at 8:36
'Power To The People' had me building up my anticipation for months and months up to Poison's next release, 'Hollyweird'. The first four tracks (with Bret on the vocals) had me totally psyched for what was to come. Then 'Hollyweird' came. Decent songs, yeah. Good production? Not a chance. the lyrics and the songs could have used a lot of working on. If they had made us wait another few months for a solid record that would have been great. But, nooo. Poison, hire Zito back & produce a solid cd.

From: Gar Date: November 29, 2002 at 2:37
The new songs are good, but the live songs are the same ones that were on SWALLOW THIS LIVE. They could have at least put some songs on here that they hadn't recorded live before.

From: Audiorobb Date: February 25, 2003 at 5:57
I didn't like this cd at first but it has grown on me. I wish they could have kept this sound for Hollyweird.

From: Bazster Date: April 13, 2003 at 23:11
New songs were great. Live tracks are done well. This is Poison doing what they due best. Just Rock N' Roll and love 'em for it. Glam for ever.

From: diferaos Date: May 15, 2003 at 21:23

From: CHIRO Date: August 25, 2003 at 18:47
WHY THEY DIDN'T WRITE A COUPLE OF SONG MORE...AND MADE A COMPLETE STUDIO ALBUM....THIS LIVE SUCKS..BUT THE NEW TRACKS ARE AWESOME... I WAS STARTING TO THINK THAT POISON COULD BE THE KING OF THE MOUNTAIN AGAIN...BUT HOLLEYWEIRD SENT THEM TO THE BOTTON...

From: Dusty Date: October 2, 2003 at 4:58
the production on the live tracks is very bad, you'd expect more from poison, the new tracks are very good, except for 'I Hate..', why does CC sing? Its not a bad song, but i just don't like CC's voice, he'd better stick to the guitar. (oh and the little live 'solo' from cc is terrible

From: tomcat Date: October 2, 2003 at 8:14
i really had a kick out of the new songs on this 'compilation'.All 5 songs are really killers and the live material on this disc, well, it didn't shock me at all cos poison is the sort of band you have to experience live instead of listening to them live on a cd. power to the people!!!!!!!!

From: Aero Force Mike Date: October 31, 2003 at 15:26
I'm sorry but this is crap. I like Poison a fair deal (especially the Kotzen-era albums), but this is just trash. Horrible horrible modern pop-rock songs combined with pop-punk... yuck. Not the sleazy metal band I once knew, or even the bluesy rock band I was pleasantly surprised by in the mid-90s.

From: Date: November 25, 2003 at 18:57
shut the fuck up you aero force mike.. the kotzen era was the worth one.. listen to flesh and blood and look what the cat before you speak about poison...

From: M-one Date: December 6, 2003 at 14:22
Did't care much for the live stuff but the new song's were great specialy The Last Song they should had made this there hit....

From: holyroller Date: January 20, 2004 at 20:40
This album was a great memento of that summer's tour with Cinderella, Dokken, and Slaughter that we were priveliged to attend. 'Power To The People' is the heaviest Poison song ever and 'I Hate Every Bone...' would probably have been a hit if it had been released under a different band name. The live stuff is quite raw but that's the point, isn't it? Great band, great tour, great memories.

From: Big Papa K Date: June 27, 2004 at 22:41
One Poison live album was bad enough, but two? The one thing that this album has going for it are the new tracks. They are better than anything on the follow up album. 5/10

From: Renato Palhano Date: August 15, 2004 at 21:31
They were a good band in 80's, but now they lost in time, I like the band in 80's, but now, I think they should quit for good.

From: Geoff Date: August 15, 2004 at 21:58
Oh how I used to love these guys, and still do but this was surely the start to their mighty decline. I love 'Strange' but feel they're trying to be Matchbox 20. Great song, but the other 4 new ones aren't that grand. the live stuff is okay I guess, but just not the kind of album Poison needed to make in order to stay relevant.

From: jack Date: August 19, 2004 at 5:16
For those of you who say that poison were in for the money, then why they have never turn grunge/alternative like so many of the other 80's hair bands do? As far as i know, poison love their music, they love hair metal and remain true to themselves. they never follow the grunge trend.Thtas what separate them from others and the reason why so many fans remain loyal to them. Anyway, this album is a classic! power to poison! ratings:9/10

From: Kip Date: August 29, 2004 at 3:50
jack... you know what they don't do grunge? because after playing songs live like Talk Dirty, Every Rose, Fallen Angel, Flesh & Blood etc they try and pull a boner-like grunge, alternative, punk rock piece of shit, the fans booooo. We don't wanna hear this garbage. We're sleaze-glam, party-rock, feel good 80's type Poison fans. 99& of the fans that go to their shows go because of what their music was like before this, not because of this. 1.5/10 - because I love the name of track #5.

From: jack Date: September 7, 2004 at 4:13
But none of their album sounded like grunge right-not like dokken's dysfunctional, motley crue's generation swine, warrant's ultraphobic or ratt's collage(but not as extreme as the other 3). sometimes they sound a bit weak or modern but never grunge.

From: Cotton C. Lover Date: March 18, 2005 at 3:36
I agree with Jack. Poison changed their sound a bit for Native Tongue (still their weakest) but never sold out completely like the aforementioned bands. They never pulled a Belly 2 Belly. They never did the whole Motley Crue. They remained true and, as a result, have my respect. Not the best band ever, but then they never claimed to be. Just what they are. They're Poison.

From: edwithmj Date: July 8, 2010 at 6:09
I really like I Hate Every Bone In Your Body. It's different but very catchy.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: June 25, 2011 at 21:23
Enjoyable album mostly because the live set that's included...is not a secret that Poison live is a wild crazy glam party!!! ...about the new songs(tracks 1 to 5)are pretty good but far from reaching an status into Poison's greatest hits..."Power To The People" & "I Hate Every Bone In Your Body(But Mine)" both kick a**,"The Last Song" is a typical Poison's softy one and "Strange" reminds me of Tom Petty and all that country side feel that Bret Michaels has always admired or shown...85/100

From: dany69 Date: July 31, 2021 at 19:37
