The song "Voyager" sends chills up my spine every single time I hear it. Overall, Ronnie's career has indeed been one great voyage. Gamma is a true to form consistant outlet for Montrose music to exude from the man. Davey Pattison's vocals fit Gamma music very nicely. (Davey found more notoriety vocaling for Robin Trower's post-James Dewar recordings.) "Gamma 2" is great for what it is, but it will fall shy of the constant unfair comparison to the "Montrose" debut many of you will put to it.

Gamma are a massively underrated band IMO-This is my favourite and the recent Wounded Bird reissues sound excellent. All Gamma CD's are worth owning but this for me nicks it

These guys could do no wrong. Thunderous works of ear crunching artistic voodoo. This is from a time when only the best musicians made it to where Ronnie and the boys did. Anyone could have played pop, but only the select few made it to the top of the hard rock ladder. ROCK ON!!!

Da Bomb! This is my favourite Gamma album...if I HAVE to pick one. It's probably the rawest/heaviest Gamma release including 4. Davey Pattison has a great voice which is a perfect foil for Ronnies guitar and Jim Alcivars subklime keyboard grunts. The standout tracks for me are Four Horseman for the riff, and Mayday coz it's just mental! A real hard rocking album with tons of melody! I think I prefer all of Gammas albums to the brilliant first Montrose album (go on say I'm nuts!).

Would definitely be one of my "Desert island discs". An absolute classic with the only disappointment an uneccessary cover of "Something in the air",would rather have another original instead. All of the other 7 tracks are top notch with my standouts being "Meanstreak", "Four Horsemen", "Dirty City" & "Skin & Bone". Davey Pattison is one of my all-time favourite singers & on this album he is at his best.

RONNIE WERE GOING TO MISS YOU REST IN PEACE. THIS IS THEIR BEST ALBUM. AWESOME MUSICIANSHIP HERE W/LOTS OF GREAT HOOKS. WHAT A PHENOMENAL STUDIO RELEASE A TRUE CLASSIC. I LOVE YOU GUYS. I OFFER THE MONTROSE FAMILY MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY. I SAW RONNIE AT DARRINGTON AND WHAT A BLESSING IT WAS FOR ME. HE IS ONE THE BEST GUITARIST IN THE WORLD AS FOR ME HE LIVES THROUGH HIS MUSIC FOREVER. I REMEMBER LISTENING TO THIS ALBUM AT MIDNIGHT ON A SATURDAY WHEN IT WAS RELEASED ON WLAV. IT BLEW ME AWAY. PEACE.

A solid piece of Rock ! Not my favorite style but very well executed , great singer , good guitar , and strong production for this year. If you like classic hard rock in the vein of Y&T and others, buy it !

From: Doug Date: January 14, 2021 at 23:18
"Mean Streak" and "Voyager" are my faves on this one.
